Favorite place to come to have nachos. They have some of the best Mexican food. Its way better than the ones in downtown!

Place is cool for a decent burrito. I wish the carne asada was a little juicier. Also, sucks that the place smells like Lysol, or cleaner… kinda like a bathroom. I try and eat outside or take it out.

I used to love this place(I’ve definitely experienced the orange sauce addiction over the past 5 years as I live nearby). And this was my favorite location to eat at. But then it started with upping prices slightly, and then I feel they got greedy. Quality has gone wayyyy down. My friends and I have thought it hasn’t tasted good over the past 6 months, and the last 2 times have actually made us sick. :( So long, La Vic. You will be missed.

If you order a quesadilla here it costs $ 3.75 to add chicken. We ordered a basic flour tortilla quesadilla($ 2.99) and added chicken and ended up with a $ 6.75 quesadilla. I also ordered a super burrito and found out they don’t know how to properly cook shredded beef. They over cooked part of the beef so much that I thought it was a bone. In addition to that they put a very liquidy salsa in the burrito. They need to drain some of the liquid out of it. It made the burrito soggy and it oozed out of the burrito. The flavor was okay. They could have slow cooked the beef longer at a lower temperature with more spice to get a better flavor profile. The final issue I had with the burrito was the rice. Part of it was dry. Not all of it though. That led me to believe it was sitting out and not properly stored. Overall, would not recommend this restaurant. It was way over priced and wasn’t very good quality food.

First, this review is for THISVISIT only, this has not happened before. LOOKOUTFORWIREINYOURFOODITEM from La Vic. I am rather frustrated with La Vic’s «corporate office». We used to get take out there a lot. We had picked up my daughter from work late and stopped by there for her usual Carne Asada Super Quesadilla. She got home and started eating it, well until she got a piece of curved wire in her mouth. I was thankful she was eating slowly and not wolfing it down. We went back the next day and talked to a «manager»(just a question if it really was one since they had a hard time identifying one). Explained it to her about what happened and brought the Quesadilla and piece of wire back. She seemed not to concerned and said it could have been from a tortilla package(I am guessing the wire that holds it closed?). She offered to refund our money for the Quesadilla or make a new one. I was disappointed in the lack of concern, and then seemingly to know what it was(like it has happened before) and not care. I wrote a email to «the corporate office», explained everything and NEVER go any response. I expect more, what are they waiting for, someone to swallow a piece of wire? We have not been back as of yet. will we go back?.. yes after a time. Once we go back, we will have to tell the story to each person in line around us, but then also each time we try to eat something, we will have to feel for a wire in our meal.

Out all the la vics, this is probably my favorite one to go too. If you’re visiting san jose for the first time, going to a La Vic’s and trying the orange sauce is a MUST. The dining room is pretty spacious and the line usually doesn’t go outside the door, unlike the downtown ones. The super burritos are okay, nothing special. The carnie asada fries are pretty good. They’re very filling, so its good for groups. The carne asada super quesadilla is probably the best item they have on the menu. The tortilla is toasted so theres nice crisp to it and they dont skimp out on the fillings. No matter what you get, don’t forget to eat it with the orange sauce!

Sad to say that this spot is not that great when other locations r much better. The steak fries was ehh n I love steak fries so I kno what’s good. The fries were I guess the only word to say would be over cooked… like it wasn’t burnt but it wasn’t great. They need to get rid of everything spicy n make some good guacamole for the fries. I love the orange sauce but while in the Hayward location they prepare little to go once while here they don’t n just let u get some from their bottle. I liked that there was a wall plug by a table so I can charge my phone. The bathroom was nice n clean I don’t kno how the men’s side looks tho

ORANGESAUCE, ORANGESAUCE, ORANGESAUCE… if you go here for nothing else, I don’t judge This food is fantastic after a long night of drinking and partying! The burritos are decent in size and flavor… even better if you’ve knocked back a few that evening. The place can be full of really sketchy people. Once my friend and I were here and a guy literally grabbed the chair she was sitting on and lifted it up under her because he wanted a chair. No one from the restaurant did anything and we had to confront the fellow… not cool. The place is somewhat different than the other ones but still good.

If you want inexpensive fast burritos, this is your place. The food is ok; nothing special — but not bad. But after you slather everything in their delectable Orange Sauce, it’s great!!! The service is alright. They’re speedy and efficient. Not the most friendly group though. They do, however, keep it very clean for the amount of customers going in and out daily. Parking is a slight pain. Try to carpool if you’re meeting friends there.

Most times it is a BIG miss! The downtown location is far better. The morning Barito breakfast they have are always horrible! My tortilla the last time tasted sour, as if old. The ladies that help you with your order neither care for getting your order correctly or care to give you nice service. — – it’s basically a place to go when you’ve had to many drinks. And then you’ll love it.

Love this location better than the one in downtown SJ. IDK why but for some reason every time i go to the one in downtown the meat always comes out dry. and i haven’t only been there for a couple of times but i go there all the time before the one in Almaden opened. This location however, is closer to me to start with and even though theres like a huge line like always the amount of wait time is pretty good. they work really fast and most importantly their meat is always juicy and yummy. Im not sure if its coincidence that evrytime i go to La Vics the meat is always dry ONLYWHEN I GO the odds are maybe THEYAREALWAYSDRYLOL i like this place almost a perfect 5 star la vics. But the workers need to smile more

Today I went to grab 2 tacos and requested shredded chicken no beans. Once again I come home to an incorrect order. It had rice! Did I say replace the beans w rice! No! I figure I’d call and let them know since a few weeks ago I had a breakfast burrito and asked refried beans and got whole beans! Wtf! Do u know how to read?! I drove back to get the correct order. Not once have they said here’s your money back or here’s a free burrito. Anyway I call and speak to a chick and explain and give the number of our order bcuz they want to see if u r full of shi*! She says she will get the manager. I speak to the manager maria and ask her if she’d like to come home to the wrong order and she said I should have checked b4 I left. Really bit**! I ask if she was the one who took my order and she said I don’t know there r 4 of us and lists all the names and rudely says nice to meet u… bi***, r u getting brave?! Where is the customer service. I swear if this wasnt convenient I would never go there. In fact I’m I’m done w them. It’s not even the authentic mexican food. If my bf didn’t insist on going today I would have drove to señor taco off kooser. Very nice people. Maria, I told u I would write a review and u got cocky w me by saying go ahead. .well here it is and I hope the owner speaks to u about your rude ass! U have no business being a manager!

One thing that all La Vics have in common: orange sauce! So if you are near any of their locations, grab as many bottles as you can(but save a few for me!). This sauce tastes good on pretty much any type of food. Try the sauce on pizza, fries, and, obviously, tacos(just don’t get crazy, no matter how good that cupcake is – it should stay from far away from the orange sauce). It’s smoky, spicy, and perfect. Though, I did take a star off because it is not the best burrito that I’ve had in the SJ area. They are missing that grilled meaty flavor! Their carne asada super taco is tasty and loaded with all of the toppings and usually the best mode of getting orange sauce into my mouth as soon as possible.

2.5 stars. This place is really great for hangover greasy food craving or even for late drunk night dinner but it’s pretty much about it. La Vic proposes Mexican american food, not authentic Mexican. Americanized in a way that portion are HUGE but the food itself is extremely greasy, fattening and heavy(huge portions, why not, but when you receive a quesadilla drenches in fat… what’s the point?). It’s certainly cheap and you definitely get what you pay for! Value for money: 3 to 4 stars. The orange sauce is certainly amazing but it’s pretty much about it. Don’t expect anything tasty fine nor gourmet there. Food: 2 stars There are many more delicious places than La Vic, but they may close earlier, ain’t located next to a pub nor conveniently accessible from a major expressway. The staff mixed up my order twice already.

All I know about this place is their Orange Sauce! It’s spicy and delicious and I need more because I’ve run out of the supply I bought when I visited my friend in SJ. Maybe I’ll try the food next time?

The only times I want and crave La Vic’s, is after a long night out from bar hopping and alcohol consumption. That being said, this is my absolute favorite location in San Jose because it is far far faaaaaaaar away from downtown San Jose AKA drunkies roaming around at night & longer lines at the locations in downtown. I have gotten the super quesadilla, super nachos, tacos, carne asada fries, super burrito, and enchiladas here and it never disappoints me at all. Everything is flavorful and portions are always generous. For meat options, I recommend getting carne asada or al pastor because both hold all of the flavors very well. As for the orange sauce, I basically pour it all over whatever I am eating and it makes every bite taste like heaven. The food is good, but the sauce is even better. La Vic’s isn’t my number one favorite Mexican taqueria, but let’s be honest, you just can’t deny the fact that the orange sauce is a game changer!!!

Popular, busy restaurant. My husband and I ate here with a friend who recommended it. I got a carnitas plate, my hubby got some tacos and my girlfriend got a quesadilla as big as her head! My plate was good, though the carnitas had more fat and oil than I’d really prefer. I ate about half the meat and took the other half home for my pets. Rice and beans were generically good. Overall nothing fancy, very casual atmosphere. I wouldn’t choose to come back but wouldn’t mind eating here if my friend wants to again next time we visit.

With all the hype with la vics, I was surprised to see such low reviews, but I have to agree with them. Coming for a late lunch on Sunday, this place was packed. We waited over 20 minutes until the most disappointing burrito came out. Both of us got the super burrito –al pastor, cheese, sour cream, rice, beans, guac, and salsa. I was so hungry that I was devouring a pretty bland burrito that was only saved by the orange sauce — I heard it was Mayo with fat drippings. It wasn’t until half way through that my burrito literally has some meat, rice and beans. My other friend had the same issue. Our burritos were missing guacamole and had maybe 3 cubes of tomatoes. Also my burrito had a piece of what seemed like corn husk. No idea why that was there and was too grossed out to take a picture of it. I will say the highlight if there is one was the strawberry cantaloupe drink that they actually forgot to give me til I reminded them. Will not come back. Rather eat at rubios than here.

You can never go wrong with La Vic’s! I always get the super flour carne asada quesadilla. I LOVE how crispy the tortilla is! Drip lots of orange sauce on it, and you’re set! Quick service. Amazing, mouth-watering food! I love this location 100000x better than both of the downtown locations. It’s cleaner, newer, less crowded. Even their orange sauce tastes so much better. On weekends, they’re open until 3am. You get to see the drunkards from The Britt stumbling their way to La Vic’s for that good good! Weekdays open until midnight. When you get your food to go, they’re pretty stinggy with the orange sauce. You gotta make them give you more! LOL.

Having lived in San Diego for a significant chunk of my life, I’ve come to the conclusion that the San Jose area simply doesn’t have what it takes when it comes to Mexican food. And since I knew La Vic’s was pretty much the most basic of basic Mexican food in the area, I resisted coming here forever and ever… …Until my friends pretty much said this was the only place they wanted to come for dinner. Forced my hand, they did. –_– Either way, I hadn’t had Mexican food in a while… so FINEWHATEVER I’LLCOME. Ok, it’s not awful Mexican food. It is passable. That’s all I’ll say, passable. Plus the orange sauce is good. Al pastor was ok. Carne asada fries were ok, at least they didn’t skimp out on the amount of fries compared to the last place I went to. I’ve had a lot lot worse, plus this place is open pretty late, so I think 3 stars is fair.
