Scary, scary place for a celiac. I have not a clue as to why this place comes up in a Gluten-Free search! I went in and said I had found them on Unilocal and was looking for a GF breakfast. I was told by the gentleman at the counter, «We don’t have a specific menu like that, but yeah, we can make it. You can figure something out.» Then he shoved a menu into my hands, told me to find a seat and walked away. Horrible attitude. Still, I opened the menu, and saw nothing but gluten-laden entrees. When I asked, I was told there was no gluten free prep area either. I walked out. I just got a new job around the corner, and I can tell you I will not be back, ever. False advertising and horrible attitude… They could really get a newer celiac very sick.

The coffee is decent. If you are tired of Starbucks and want to sit in a coffee house — just sit and enjoy your coffee, while you read or work or just stare into space — come here. You want to snack on something — they have an extensive menu to choose from as well. I’ve never eaten anything here so no idea how the food tastes… but I do enjoy the coffee… It’s not a place that has blown me over — it’s just decent coffee. No coffee art on your cappuccino or any of that fancy stuff… it is strong coffee — so it lives upto it’s name — WIRED.

Came here for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. This café has a nice outdoor shaded patio with umbrellas. Wired has now changed its name to St. Tropez café, i believe has a new owner a new manager. Me and my friend got spinach quiche that came with a side salad. What can i say… the quiche was obviously frozen and then just put in the oven for a quick second or microwaved. Each time i used the fork to get the next piece, the water was coming out of it. The crust got completely soggy and inedible. On the plus side, their latte was very delicious, flavorful and creamy. Service was quick and polite.

Very rude, snobby Euro who had me wait 30 minutes for a cup of coffee because he forgot. Awful place to study because Euro told us he was going to make us students share a table if he got more customers. Stay away!

BONJOUR! Well, where do I begin… the food is fresh, tasty, delicious, plentiful, great, healthy, and OMG try the Lemon Crêpe! I died and went to heaven. Oh, the salads along with their omlettes are so tasty that I am addicted to my neighborhood French Café. The price is perfect(so are the wonderful cute servers) Thank you to the new owners for upgrading and having live music; it’s so francais! Oh, DON’T CHANGETHEMENU! Please… Au revoir everyone and enjoy!

I AMWIRED on WIRED! I was recommended to go to this cute little French café for brunch after a late night of partying in San Diego! As soon as we walked in, it was pretty much empty, so we had no wait! We were not greeted at the door, and we waited a little at the entrance to not even be acknowledged. We seated ourselves at the only booth in the restaurant. Even when we sat down, no one came to our table for a good ten minutes. Given it was already 3pm, that was our lunch? dinner? linner?, who knows. For my meal, I ordered the french toast with fresh strawberries, and a house coffee. The coffee was amazingly rich! I really liked their presentation as well. The fresh toast was crispy and fluffy, and with the strawberries it was an impeccable combination! The portions were perfect, and we were adequately stuffed by the end of our meal. One thing I was was that they gave refills on coffee, but I suppose we can’t have the cake and eat it too. Overall, good service besides the fact that we did not have a consistent waitress, cute french café ambiance, but they need to be just a little more inviting of customers! I highly recommend visiting this place if you are in the area. It doesn’t seem like a bad place to study either!

Wired is just how I prefer my friends — always down for anything, whether it be traveling, eating out, late-nights, studying, or whatever we dream up! Back in college, I visited this little café for the first time with my friend that had lived in Europe. She said that they had croissants comparable to the ones she had in France and that the chai lattes were amazing. She was right! This is still my go-to spot for chai lattes and I’ll take her word for it on the croissants, they are amazing, especially with a side of their jam. I’ve never been to France, but Wired helps me imagine. In fact, I always feel like I’ve been transported to another country when I enter this spot. Amidst the mostly-Asian population of UCSD/UTC area, I hear customers speaking French to each other and the owners whenever I come here alone to study or get work done. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but I don’t mind because this is the kind of place where you sit and relax for a while, like what I imagine I’d do on a sidewalk café in France. And then one finals week, I came in on a Friday night with my laptop and books intending to study, but was surprised that the lights were dimmed and there was live music! Apparently, they have live music on Thursdays through the weekend, including acoustic cover bands and my favorite — bossa nova. That night, I don’t remember who performed, but I do remember that I did what my best friends in college friends would do – put off studying and enjoy the night. They were doing a wine tasting from the Bourdeuax region, so I obliged and even ordered a yummy lemon crêpe! I’ve even been here for things from one-on-one business/organization meetings over iced coffee to casual happy hour with friends. They have a really good specials on cheese plates and sangria and their drinks are priced just right as well. In giving me opportunities to enjoy live music, get work done(or procrastinate) over good food/drink, and even ease my wanderlust, Wired is just like a good friend to me.

I’ve been here twice, once with a friend and later with a family member, and waited for about 20 minutes and was never acknowledged once. Call me paranoid but I think this place is racist! I had to stop a waitress for a menu, and she ignored me as I wasn’t there. I had to seat myself, and grab a menu from another table. My parents came here a couple times, and they had a similar experience. So, if your not white, don’t go here!

This little bistro is just behind UTC — the closest crêpe place to UCSD campus(and French bistro) I’ve ever found except the farmer’s market. And it’s owned and run by French — the waitress is a lovely French girl! I love to talk to her, though I have forgotten most of my French without practicing for 1.5 yrs… The crêpe here is just of the proper size: not to big, and the brink is as crispy as those I’ve tasted in the streets of Paris. The variety of selection is also worth praising: they have Coconut and Fruit Melba(though I haven’t tried yet — I’m always a nutella fan), and the ice cream added on is also very good. It’s pricey for students, though, but the novelty of selection and quality of food make it up. Not a bad choice for gathering with friends for afternoon tea on weekends.

I love this place. Been a couple of times now. Service was a little off the 1st time. The last 2 times — service was on-it. Since we are never in a rush when we go here — we never really notice if the service is slow. We order the same thing every time… a crêpe with strawberries, banane, and Nutella. We also get a scoop of French vanilla ice-cream on the side. For a drink — I get the French pressed(Vietnamese) iced coffee. The meal is awesome. It isn’t cheap — probably $ 22 for the crêpe, coffee, tax, and tip. We enjoy the ambiance of the café. The color scheme and the warm wood tones makes us feel as if we are a world away. This place is definitely French-inspired. Si vous préférez, la serveuse parle en français. Solid 4 stars.

Let me start off by saying this place has one of the best sweet Chai Lattes I’ve ever had. I mean EVER! 5 stars for that! It’s a cute little restaurant. You basically seat yourself and the waitress stops by to take your order. They have a pretty extensive menu with everything from sandwiches to crepes to breakfast orders. I decided on the San Diegan, which is turkey w/avocado on a baguette. I was craving avocado, so it satisfied that for sure. It comes with a side salad that was a little too drenched in dressing for my liking. The service was slow. Especially once you have your food. My battery on my laptop was dying, so I closed it up and packed up. Then made eye contact with the waitress. Waited another 5 minutes and decided to get up and check out myself. She helped me at the register and was quick. So here’s the breakdown: Food: 3.5 stars Drink: 5 stars Free WiFi: 5 stars Not enough outlets: 2 stars Service: 3 stars Total: 3.7 stars. Because I LOVED their Chai Latte and it’s fabulous that they offer free WiFi, I’m give them 4 stars. I would stop by again for sure. It’s a neat little café to hang out at and get some work done. It was super quite at 3pm on a Thursday.

Wired was once a great place. I remember coming for breakfasts and lunches in the«old days» — about five or six years ago. We went back for a lunch last week and were shocked to see that everything had come unglued and unwired. The place seems decrepit. The walls need painting. The ceiling looks awful. The display case at the front of the restaurant has a smashed-in glass pane that’s covered over with plastic wrap and scotch tape. Our group of five spent a long time there: it took forever to place our orders and then another forever before our sandwiches and salads were served. What was delivered on our plates was noticeably south of «A-OK.»

I thought I was walking into an internet café. It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but if I took the name completely literally I suppose it’s an apt description. I had an hour or so to kill before a morning meeting and based on the Wired Café portion of the name, was expecting an option to order a few things at the counter then take a seat or take it to go. Instead, it’s more of a bistro just with WiFi access. I’m thinking you’re supposed to seat yourself when you get in here, I did that but noticed some others stood around up front not sure of what to do. After seating myself the server brought the menu by promptly. Shortly after he came and basically looked at me, which means he was asking if I was ready to order. I didn’t care that the server wasn’t the«how is your day let me kiss your ass blah blah» type. In a way it was impersonal but I look at it as a non-chalant, I won’t bother you too much approach. The other reviews about service do make sense, they’re not in a hurry here, so just chill. My favorite was when those at a table across from me asked for something, he responded«give me a minute» like they were asking him to go out of his way for something. My other favorite thing is here I was on my laptop while there was a guy sitting at the little bar area where they have a few beers on tap and a TV. So, it’s like 2 different places in 1. I had a breakfast sandwich with ham and eggs which was like $ 6. You pay at the front after you get the bill and there’s a jar for tips. Yeah, I was there well over an hour so do agree that you should only come here if you’re not in a rush. It’s a good place to kill some time. If I have a lot of time again then I’ll know where to go. I don’t think this is a place to take a lunch break at.

Terrible terrible TERRIBLE! Service I walked in and stood there for like 5 mins before anyone acknowledged me… Even though there weren’t that many people there… I ordered the«San Diegan» which was a turkey avocado banquette… nothing special. Vietnamese coffee tasted like espresso(I’m Vietnamese I know how it’s suppose to taste… Not it) the almond croissant was soggy from the almond filling… Trust me I LOVE almond croissants so I came just because another reviewer said it was good… Disappointment! I had to wait for 15+ mins in order to ASK for my check. which I never got. One of the waitresses(the one with the big curly blond hair) was attending to a table that she was clearly friends with. Okay that’s FINE I’ve been a waitress and had friends come in but it’s not cool when people are waiting 15+ mins for you… and mind you I never got my check… I finally decided I was wasting my time so I just went up to the counter, where the girl had the nerve to say«If your not doing anything on Halloween you should come to our halloween party!» …umm no thanks!

This café is very cute, it definitely had that Paris feel to it with all the décor. Came here last week to pick up lunch to go. There were actually a good amount of people dining at this establishment, so we thought, hey it should be good. The three of us ordered salads and panini’s. I had the pastrami panini which was on their special’s menu and shared a chef salad with my other friend. Both were mediocre. it wasn’t bad but I’ve definitely had better and had higher expectations of their food. One complaint I had was that it took FOREVER and a day for our orders to come out. I never thought in a million years that it would take 20 minutes to make a simple salad and some panini’s.

I can’t believe that I didn’t know about this place during my 6 years in SD and I lived less than 5 minutes away for a year! My friend who’s a vegetarian suggested this place for our lunch date when I went down to visit. On a Monday, this place was pretty crowded for lunch hour; all the tables outside were taken but fortunately, we got the table right by the window. I definitely love the decorations of this little restaurant, the ambiance reminds me of Europe, especially with the wooden tables and people dining under the sun right outside. My friend had one of their salads and I ordered the tomato mozzarella pesto panini(see picture) with chai soy latte. The panini was amazing; the pesto wasn’t too strong and the mozzarella had just the right chewiness. The little triangle-cut panini pieces were surprisingly filling that I couldn’t even eat the last piece. As a mocha person, I decided to try their chai soy latte; it was light, not too sweet and the chai was not overpowering, definitely completes the meal. The waitress was really friendly and did not rush us while we were catching up for a good 2 hours. I’m glad that I’ve found a cute brunch/lunch place that is more accessible than downtown La Jolla. Can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes!
Can’t say I love this place because all I tried was coffee, but it seems like a place with good crepes. Maybe will come here next time to order a sweet crêpe. Otherwise, this place seems like a good place for coffee!

cute café outside of the UTC norm. how nice to have an option like that whose name doesnt start with STAR and end with… you know. of course all these changes have happened since ive left the area :-/i used to live in walking distance of this shopping center. oh well. Visiting this past weekend for a late breakfast, i was delighted to enter the well-decorated inviting space. i admired the art on the walls — which are for sale and often change. space consists of cozy tables along the wall and bistro tables in the middle. even the bathroom was really cute. nothing about this place screams UTC — and i mean that is a sincerely positive way. Menu has many delicious options, both light and hearty. I was told they make good paninis and crepes(two of my most favorite things). Though crepes are delicious, it was edging noon and a panini sounded a bit better at the time. Got the chicken pesto(served with salad), good size portion with thought put into its presentation, and very tasty and fresh. Also enjoyed a lovely cappuccino after seeing one pass by, and nibbled on the sliced french bread and raspberry jam that was provided. service was also friendly and attentive. all in all, very nice café to enjoy some company and stay awhile or visit alone for some quite time, gettin’ your digital tan on from the inviting glow of your laptop.
