The Olive Tree Marketplace is perfect for picking up a quick dinner. We usually purchase the baseball steaks! I would recommend the baseball steaks and kabobs!

This is a wonderful market. We were able to get everything we needed and even got a great beer recommendation. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

5 stars probably doesn’t do this place justice. 1st of all, it is the cutest little corner market on earth. They have some usual items, but they have so many specialty & great quality items. They have a wonderful wine selection & now they also have a great craft beer selection too! Cheese — yup, they’ve got tons of it! Tortillas, check! Now onto the Deli… SO, SO, SO, SO, SO good! I’m not a big sandwich fan, but if they are coming from here, I will gobble it up. They have a great deli sandwich menu that kind of makes it difficult to pick just one sandwich. The bread doesn’t get too soggy either, which is important!

This market is awesome. Always really good beer and other drinks available. They have huge cookies they sell that I can’t say no to. The baseball steaks are really really good, I’ve bought them several times. They turn out well on the grill and in the oven. They have a little parking lot with some spaces so that’s nice. Everyone works here is really nice too. Their sandwiches are really good too, even bigger than Chris Liquor. Love their bread too, so good. It can be a little pricey sometimes so don’t think you can come in and do all your shopping without spending a lot. We usually just come here for special beer, meats and cheeses we can’t get at Trader Joes. Definitely a OB must to try this spot!

Came here wanted to get a snack and my girlfriend a sandwich. We go to order from their mini deli. I asked if I could just get a chicken breast cooked without the cheese and bread. He asked me three times like I was crazy.(I just wanted some lean protein without the fat and carbs haha) I thought it would be easier to cook. I didn’t mind paying even the price of the actual sand which. After he gave me a dirty look, he took my girlfriends order who said half a sandwich with no alfalfa sprouts please. When we rang up they charged her sand which for a full size($ 10) not half(4.99) and we got to our car she opened her sand which and it had alfalfa sprouts! Over charging and messing up the order when it wasn’t even that busy. Never coming here again. Hopefully you can get more polite and attentive workers.

I been looking for a great sandwich place that would rival the one I had in NYC. I gotta say it blew it out the water. Best one in SD in my opinion. Will def be back.

Everyone who works here is very friendly and helpful. The $ 5.99 chicken is always great for a last minute dinner option. We often go grab taco shells, an onion or avocado when needed and the beer club is fun and saves 10%! OB Luv

Never new a sandwich could be this satisfying! Eat fresh has nothing on this deli. Seriously, they are not stingy on the protein and the vegetables tasted crisp and refreshing. My only regret was that I should have chewed more to enjoy more of the taste… unfortunately I inhaled it… :)

Quite possibly the most expensive convenience market I have ever set foot in. $ 5.49 for a box of Wheat Thins… yeah, you get the picture. They closed the deli at 6pm? Kinda dumb. Great selection of wines so that was the highlight. The wine tasting room next door maybe holds 8 people, mostly locals. Park in the back.

STEAK. STEAK. STEAK. Best steaks to grab in OB. We grill up a few of these bad boys practically every weekend and have never been disappointed.

I get the Californian on ciabatta with pepperonis, or the veggie euro. Both excellent. My fiancé gets the torpedo. He also loved it until recently when he decided on Chris’s down the street for his beach day sandwich. Unfortunately, our purchases 2 weekends ago had virtually no meat and were mostly comprised of lettuce and onion. I think it was a fluke as I didn’t recognize any of the employees that day, so maybe they had something to attend and had fill ins? Not sure. I wasn’t ready to give up on olive tree that easily though, as I have loved their sandwiches for years, so I bought a Californian this Saturday and it was much better than the previous weekend. They didn’t skimp on the avocado, either, which is the key to my heart! Quality meats & produce, & fresh bread. They tend to get very busy so you can sometimes feel rushed while ordering, & employees don’t seem as happy as when you stop in for something in the off season. Good selection of beer, wine, & small grocery items. Can be pricey, though. Overall, good find & I’ll be back.

Lovely little market in OB. They have deli meat and canned goods and fresh produce among so many other goodies. They also sell firewood which is super convenient. It’s like convenience store meets grocery store meets wine and liquor store. Really great local spot for your grocery needs.

This rating has more to do with the sandwich that I bought than it has to do with the actual marketplace in all. That being said, there was an interesting variety of things to buy; I however just came here for lunch. I had the Catch-22 on sourdough and it really just reminded me of a gas station sandwich. The bread had a weird consistency somewhat like a sandy sponge that dissolved in my mouth. The lettuce was very refreshing, but the quantity of lettuce was overwhelming, and the cheese was tasteless, but I suppose that’s just how swiss cheese is. My friend had the Bacado which looked much more scrumptious than my basic sandwich, but she said it was just decent and that the bean sprouts were excessive. Her sandwich was also on sourdough, but was toasted and better than the untested version.

The chipotle chicken sandwich special was my choice and it didn’t disappoint. It came on a ciabatta roll and was huge! I was hungry, but only ate half of it. The store also has a wide variety of chips, salsas, and condiments. The beer selection was very extensive as well. I found a brew in a can called ‘Me so Honey’ from Belching Beaver brewery. A great name, and good beer as well. It was busy, but it took about 20 minutes to receive my sandwich. Many people who came after me received their orders first, so I think my order might have been misplaced. I brought this up after about 15 minutes of waiting, and received my order soon thereafter. Not a deal breaker, but if I was in a hurry, it would have been pretty annoying.

The olive tree is a great spot to stop before you hit the beach. The sandwiches here are hard to beat. My favorite is the sunset cruise which is roast beef, pastrami, and corned beef. My fiancé loves the euro veggie and the Californian. They have a great beer selection and a pretty good wine selection too. There is a small selection of produce which is nice if you live nearby and nice an onion or maybe a tomato. I skways look at the meat case while waiting to pay but have yet to try any but all look outstanding. The staff is always very nice and genuine. The only hangup is that on a hot beach day you may be waiting for a good while to get your sandwich. I think one time I stood around for over 30 minutes.

I love their sandwiches! There are a number of subs I get here for about $ 7 each. They have a good Italian sub and turkey sub. They also have Julian pies and full, cooked chickens for a good price and the BEST homemade cookies! The other food in the store is pretty expensive but the sandwiches are what I go there for! Make sure to order your sandwich before 6pm because they stop serving them then.
