PATP is a park with playground, statue of Tony Gwynn, etc. overlooking Petco park where the Padres play. I imagine it as more functional during the baseball season, but now it is just a nice place to walk and grab solitude. An oasis in the bustling Bayfront area.

I love this park, I just wish it did not become a cove for vagabonds to catch up on their mid day Zs every single darn day. They have security guards on site and should really maintain the sanctity of this nice patch of greenery.

PATP is a sweet option for casual fans who don’t need to sit too closely to a team as mediocre as the Padres. It’s really nice to be able to buy two tickets for less than the price of parking downtown and just push the stroller on to the lawn and kick it for an evening. There’s a jumbo TV facing from centerfield and it plays the audio from the game telecast. I never thought I’d be a lawn guy, but you really can’t beat being able to sprawl out in the grass and not worry about people around you. This is a great job by the Padres to make this a ticket option. It really shows an organization that knows fans and what they want. Now, they obviously don’t pay any mind to building a winning team, but as long as we’re cozy out there, everything’s jake.

This is only for the playground. Apparently there is more to this place than that? The playground was just a tot lot. No monkey bars or anything for older kids. The most exciting thing it had was a cup that a kid can sit in and spin around. It actually went pretty fast! My 18-month old enjoyed herself and it was well maintained. There were tables and planters for us to sit at. No bathrooms though, which was a bummer. Even the bathrooms to the west with a big sign that said Public Restrooms were locked. At 4pm on a Saturday. Sigh.

Very well maintained park. The highlights are the statue of Tony Gwynn on the hill overlooking the stadium with all his achievements. Unique in that the public can walk right up to the outfield wall and sit down in patio chairs!!! Very well done!!! More baseball parks should have something like this!!! Really brings the city closer to the game.

Great public space for dogs, kids, baseball lovers and all to enjoy. The views of the baseball stadium are great, I am really glad they keep this open to the public. They do close it at night which you kind of have to do at night downtown. The vertical views of the downtown buildings are also nice to enjoy and contemplate.

Park at the Park is really nice. It’s adjacent to Petco Park with a great view of the ballpark… something pretty cool to look at in itself! I’ve been to a couple of Comic Con events in this park and I have to say it is really well maintained and just a really nice park. There is lots of grassy areas to kick back on and it’s a really awesome place to take kids with the playground or to the wiffle ball grounds. I think I just really like it because here you are in the middle of a big city and you have this really great park to escape the concrete and crowds. Its a great spot to bring your brown bag to enjoy on the lawn or on the benches. Check it out!

This review is for Park at the Park which is located adjacent to Pet-co Park on the north side. The park has a super view of the ball park and the city skyline. The park has a playground for children with playground equipment.(see pic) It also has a miniature base ball diamond for the little ones, but what it is most famous for, is the tribute statue to Tony Gwynn, and all his achievements.(see pic) There are tiles on the ground with all his achievements laid out from the year he was drafted as a rookie, to the year he was inducted to the Hall of Fame for base ball players.(see pic) If you are a baseball fan, it is a must see. The park is well maintained and the grounds are bright green and healthy. One of the best lawns I have seen. The park has a few benches and sitting areas and some trees strategically placed along walk ways.(see pic) While I was there reading and relaxing, I noticed a number of people on lunch break having their lunches and chatting with co workers. There were also a number of families with their children enjoying the play ground and the mini base ball diamond. Many people also take their leashed dogs for walks here. Great little park…
