There are a lot of bored tourists in this area walking around wasting time. If you happen to walk a dog through here you might get ambushed into an akward convo with a aimless traveler. They can be nice and they can be rude. Sometimes people need to just keep to their own.

We purchased 20.00 grass tickets. We got there 30 min or so early and most of the spots were taken up. I’m on a knee scooter because I broke my foot. I asked at the box office and the attendant if there was ADA seating and nobody was able to help as they said I’d have to upgrade my ticket to get that seating. No thank you. I’m on a budget here. So I rolled over the grass and we got the very last spot on the grass with obstructed views. We were up against the fence so we could lean against it but we did get background noise from the Hard Rock Hotel. During the intermission an attendant found me. She said she’d seen me earlier and saw that I wasn’t getting help with seating. She directed me to an easier way to exit, which I appreciated. The symphony was great. There were fireworks at the end to the music of the 1812 Overture. Wonderful. In the future, we may go and sit just outside the venue as others were doing for free and just listen to the music. We couldn’t see much where we were at anyway.

One of the best views in San Diego! Has a small lot that can fit about 50 – 75 cars and their meters. I strangely have never found a problem parking here. I think it’s because it’s hidden and a little far from the rest of downtown. You get a decent view of the San Diego skyline, the bay, and coronado island. I take a lot of visitors here for a short while for an awesome view.

What a great night to see Ben Folds and the San Diego Symphony. WE have a very talented symphony they totally complimented our special guest. This venue was nice, we bought the laen tickets and found a nice little spot to sit/lay on the ground. Bear in mind that you can take non-alcoholic drinks and food! I only brought blankets! If you don’t buy a table, make sure to buy and bring those short chairs. By the way you can buy wine and beer here.

Rome has its Colleseum, Paris has the tower, Cairo has pyramids, New York has skyscrapers, San Franciso has its hippies, and bridges — but we are blessed with our own spectacular landmark, the Embarcadero. The Embarcadero, a Spanish word meaning«landing place», is basically our downtown waterfront boardwalk. The Embarcadero is where you’ll find the Convention Center, USS Midway, the Star of India, and various hotels, restaurants and shops including Seaport Village. This is also where you would board or disembark from a cruise ship. When visiting, be sure to enjoy the«Urban Trees» project, featuring 30 original sculptures and art pieces, each by a different artist. At times, it can feel a bit«touristy», but it never gets to the dreaded«tourist-overload» state. Tourist overload is when asian tourists create log-jams extending out the door from shops or attractions just to buy souvenirs that were made in China [been to Fisherman’s Wharf lately?]. We come here in the Summer for the fireworks, outdoor concerts, and symphonies(basically a concert with real musicians). In the Fall you can enjoy Artwalk on the Bay or the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival — the largest in SoCal. And of course the Big Bay Balloon Parade and the Parade of Lights are not to be missed in the Winter. The Embarcadero is great for just taking a stroll, taking in all of the beauty that our city has to offer. In the stillness of night with a full moon it is magical. I’ll take that over a half-torn down Colleseum or a cigarette-smoke-filled tower, any day. #UrbanTrees #TouristOverload #FearTheFrenchman

This was my first official event here, having stood nearby to hear artists play before. We arrived about 30 minutes early, didn’t have to wait too long for parking, and parked in the lot near Joe’s Crab Shack. The fee for parking was $ 20, which was a bit of a disappointment considering our tickets were $ 25 after fees. We purchased lawn tickets. I had read some Unilocal reviews and heard that sitting on the left side of the stage in the lawn is the better area, so that’s where we went. The view was fine, we could hear everything, and the sound was wonderful. The view of the embarcadero and the whole scene were phenomenal, including the skyline at sunset. I’m not sure if it’s different for other events, but during the San Diego Symphony event we were table to take our own chairs and blankets, bring dinner, and open bottles of water inside. There was beer and wine(by the bottle, even) for purchase at the event, as well as snacks and other food. I would advise parking downtown and walking over, or take a Lyft, or getting there early to snag one of the free spots(unless you don’t mind the fee!) I will definitely be back again!

I’ve been to a few events here now. Parking can be wretched but we’ve managed to find parking in nearby private lots. Joe’s Crab Shack seems to own the majority of the parking in this area(don’t park there as I heard they tow quite quickly). Embarcadero Marina Park South is beautiful and the events I’ve attended here have all been pretty spectacular. You can read about the Bacon and Barrels 2015 at: as well as the most recent International Paella and Wine Festival 2015 at: This part of the Embarcadero is breaktaking with views of downtown, Seaport Village, The Headquarters, beautiful waters, and even Coronado Bridge. We attended a Symphony concert here last year and I remember we parked at Seaport Village. It was probably about a 15 minute walk here from the SV parking lot. It is quite pretty here and I only wish they had better parking so it would be easier(and cheaper) to visit this part of beautiful San Diego.

Not much to see here… Not a great stop for tourists. In fact, a little bit sketchy. Bring coins if you expect to park. Or just skip it altogether.

Came here on Saturday for a birthday party. The park was green, clean and spacious. They have rocks and a pier for fishing along with basketball courts that are well maintained. The bathrooms were cleaned and well stocked with toilet paper. The biggest problem for all of us were the parking meters. You have to pay for parking on Saturdays until 6pm so make sure you bring your quarters. The police showed up three times checking on the meters, almost like stalkers!

I enjoy fishing off the pier here. It’s peaceful and let’s the mind unwind. The types of fish my husband and I have caught has been, crocker, bass, mackerel, rays, halibut, smelts, octopus, small shark and lizard fish. The pier is small. During the summer months, there’s concerts on the weekends and fireworks after. During those times, it’s hard to find parking, but once you do, you get a chance to fish, listen to music and see fireworks. You have a beautiful view of Coronado and the Coronado Bay Bridge. Be prepared with loose change. There’s parking meters in the parking lot.

Fantastic spot for quintessential San Diego views of the bay, boats, airplanes, and downtown skyline. To the south you can see the entire Coronado bridge, and also Coronado Island. Bring your camera– you will want to take pics from every side of this park! Best time for good light is within the hour prior to sunset. Note that all of the parking spots in this park are metered, but take nickles, dimes and quarters and the rates are reasonable and the meters end at 6pm.

Beautifuuuuuuul park overlooking the bay and Coronado bridge… and just a short stroll away from the fishing pier. Great place to bring a grill to BBQ and chill out. Go back and forth from the park to the pier to fish. Very relaxing! My family really enjoyed our Father’s Day BBQ at Embarcadero. Meter parking lot is free on Sundays. If the lots full, there’s another one behind Joe’s Crab Shack for $ 10 all day; they have a machine that accepts card.

Great place to workout and enjoy the views. Right on the water! Pull-up bars Push-up bars Dips Hanging rings Sit-up station 200 yard loop path with grassy center The Convention Center here has lots of stairs to exercise legs and cardio and sweat! It’s connected to the boardwalk along the entire marina & Seaport village. Great views of all the navy ships coming and going all day long. Homeless people do live here and hangout here, but they’re all harmless and do not bother anyone. It’s not as bad a downtown San Diego. I have never had a problem with them.

I rarely visit this park for anything other than a concert or event, so I really can’t comment on anything other than that. Only in SD, where you can consistently host outdoor events any time of year, could a venue like this be sustainable. I’ve been to some amazing events here, and the weather and view have always been gorgeous. That being said, there is absolutely nowhere to park without paying $ 20 if you come for an event, and, as we found out the hard way at SD Oysterfest– bar-rules apply to concerts and event here– so no napping on the grass! You WILL be kicked out! Make sure that you carpool here, or take public transportation from downtown– otherwise it’s just too crazy to get in and out of the place. Besides, once you split the cost of parking with friends you feel a lot less guilty about the added-on charge to your event tickets!

This is a cute little park adjacent to the waterfront hotels. It serves a convenient purpose for hotel guests, but you’re not likely to see may locals down here. Because of the bay view, the paths and trails along the water are typically packed with slow-walking, picture-popping tourists and not that there is anything wrong with that, but it does tend to gum up a morning run. Another detractor to this park is the amount of homelessness and hooligans. It hasn’t quite reached the critical level of some of Honolulu’s beachfront stretches, but I definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable running down here if I were a female. A lot of reviewers rave about the view here, but it really isn’t much. Many of the parks across the bay actually have better views not only of the bay, but the skyline as well.

One of the best running places in San Diego with a great view. But beware of all of the homeless people that surround the benches and the parking lot they mean no harm but it’s still creepy. Also beware of all the tourist as well they sometimes get out of your way when you’re running but don’t notice because of You find yourself running from miles just because of the free weather we have here!

I love this park! Yes there are homeless here but, they are harmless. The park is clean, maintained, beautiful, parking is usually available, and the police do patrol. We watched the 4th of July fireworks from here. It was awesome! Great spot to see everything. During the day, you can see ships of all kids going by, jet skiers, kayakers, navy, tourists, and more! Also, You can catch a ferry over to Coronado for a nice day trip!
