Had the California wrap for lunch today. It was delicious!

First time I tried it out, saw it on Unilocal.I went around 2 and it was nice and quite, as well as empty. Only had to wait about 5 mins. Got the Sante fe wrap that came with a side ceaser salad! Very affordable price!

5 stars because the blueberry white chocolate bread pudding was amazing. So good. I want more. The service was friendly and quick which I always appreciate. I got a turkey and Brie sandwich which was tasty. I probably would have done 4 stars but last minute I opted for the bread pudding. I ate it when I got back to work and was in heaven! There were several healthy options on the menu too which I like to see since that is normally what I stick to. They serve pasta salad with the meal as well but I don’t particularly like olives(a staple in pasta salads it seems) and was so full from the sandwich I didn’t even try it. Looked pretty good for a pasta salad though! I’d definitely go back to this café if I’m in the area.

The service can be slow because there’s only 1 person behind the counter but the food is good. Fresh and homemade tortillas used for their wraps.

The salad I had was good. However I called for about 30 min before I finally drove down and couldn’t get through to anyone. I was met with busy signals and lack of answering. When I got here, the one person working the counter was frantic. I ordered a tostada salad with shrimp and they were out of shrimp for the day. So I ordered it without any protein. Took about 15 min to get a salad and the place isn’t very busy. Again, salad was good, but next time I’ll go elsewhere.

I was looking for a new place to eat for lunch because i’ve been to the majority of the restaurants in kearny mesa already and stumbled on this on Unilocal.Even though this place has average reviews and not many photos have been uploaded, I still wanted to give it a try and voice my own opinion. I did not encounter the mean lady that everyone mentioned below. Instead I believe I only encountered the owner who was very polite and generous. I called in a large order for work. They said it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I left in 10 minutes because it would take me another 10 minutes to get there and I arrived exactly in 20 minutes. It was funny because the guy thought I got there too fast and thought it hadn’t been 20 minutes yet, when in fact it was because I time that stuff. And he apologized that they were very busy and were understaffed. I had to wait another 30 minutes for my order which sucked and he forgot to mention to me on the phone that they were out of tuna, but at least he gave me a free sandwich instead. Nonetheless, I can say that it’s really nice that he gave me a free sandwich even though I wasn’t complaining about anything. And just for that I will be back because although service is slow, they are very compensating. Roast Beef Wrap $ 7.50 The wrap was packed in fat. I was astonished to find out that I could only eat half of the wrap when im used to eating a whole wrap at most places. The roast beef were thick slices which i love because i love meat. The vegetables were fresh and the Gorgonzola cheese was a bit on the strong side but the wrap was still good. Their complimentary cesar salad was small but delicious, I loved the cheese shavings that came with the salad. It looked freshly shaved instead of just the regular shredded cheese you would buy at the store. PROS: 1. Large parking lot 2. Plentiful of tables, indoor and outdoor 3. Good prices 4. Good portions 5. Variety of items on the menu, including sandwiches, wraps, plates, smoothies, coffee, etc. 6. I don’t know any other deli sandwich restaurants that offers a pasta salad or cesar salad with every entrée which is awesome! 7. Good service CONS: 1. Understaffed 2. The restaurant could use a make over. 3. Can get really busy during lunch time. Overall, I genuinely liked it and the price and portion size was RIGHT!(:

Service was just fine. The guy behind the counter was very personable. .food was served in a reasonable amount of time… buts that’s it. Tryed them for the first time. won’t go back No restrooms.. i want to wash my hands. not use hand sanatiser. .uncomfortably warm inside… no napkins salt or pepper on the tables. I ordered a tuna melt… couldn’t tell if it had cheese on it and no choice. Tuna was dry. had to ask for mayo. .bread was falling apart. came with a goofy little salad and no choice of dressing… limited choice of drink… if you want a soda it’s in a can. almost 10 bucks… could have eaten the 10 dollar bill and tasted better than the sandwich. . Don’t much like writing crappy reviews but they need to fix some things.

The menu here looks awesome but the food lacks in flavor. We ordered the lemon chicken tarragon sandwich and almond chicken salad. The sandwich was pretty tasteless and the salad didn’t offer anything special. I’m willing to try it again since it’s so close to the office but I’m not rushing back to do so.

I like this restaurant because they have plenty of healthy options and it’s close by my work. The turkey mango wrap was delicious. It sounds like a strange combination, but it works! I’m glad that the wraps come with a side salad. Otherwise, I don’t think I would’ve been full. I also ordered the unforgettable smoothie(strawberries, banana, nonfat yogurt, apple juice, and vanilla). I don’t think it’s unforgettable, but it was fruity and not too sweet.

First of all, reading most of these reviews it seems like customers were complaining about the lady working up front. I get it-she wasn’t the most friendly blah blah blah. But she’s the ONLY one in that restaurant running the front so I would cut her some slack, especially around lunch time. With that being said, I could tell she was stressed out and made a joke like«I’m so burnt out. it’s the case of the Fridays» and she laughed and was cool and friendly towards me. Just because you’re a customer doesn’t mean you can’t be the one to lighten the mood. The food: I ordered a Half Tuna melt and chicken tortilla soup and it was amazing! The tuna did not have too much mayo-which I like, and the soup had a kick to it but wasn’t too spicy. The tuna was also made with some basil seasoning and tasted unique. Good portion size as well! Got my food in about 10 minutes and she walked it out to me. This is one of the better comfort food restaurants in Kearny Mesa and since I work down the street, I’ll probably be back

The food is amazing but the girl at the front counter with a different color hair is just an unhappy, ugly person. My husband and I go there quite frequently for lunch meetings and on one occasion one of our items was not made with all the ingredients and after I requested it to be remade all I got was attitude and sass from her.

My friend and I decided to grab a quick bite here when we were temporarily relocated from our office while it was being renovated. The food tasted great and the service was fast. Maybe we were lucky and came at the right time, but we were the only ones in here. I had a wrap that was so yummy! And huge! I will be back. :)

My colleagues and I visited this place for lunch today as a going away lunch. The line was extremely long and took us forever to order. It also sounded like the cook was using the microwave an awful lot while I was waiting in line. Once I got to the counter, the younger blonde was extremely unfriendly to both me and my friends. If I owned a small business, I would not have this individual working for me. The prices were good for the portions but I wonder how heathy the food is beyond the salads given the use of a microwave to cook the food.

Just tried out this café for the first time. Drive by it every week visiting a worksite of mine. Can’t believe I never stop by before! The Service was phenomenal and the food was made correctly and in a timely manner(I am a peculiar customer always making difficult orders sorry again!)

Went for breakfast. I asked for decaf but they didn’t have any ready and didn’t offer to brew some. We got the house special — just eggs, bacon and toast — and the California burrito. As we were waiting we kept hearing a microwave beep from the kitchen. The food definitely tasted microwaved. It was horrible. The eggs were chopped very fine and the bacon was too crisp. The toast was just plain white bread warmed up. The water was good.

Food is decent. Prices are decent BUT the lady that works the front counter isn’t very friendly. White lady with thin eye brows. You can tell she is miserable and it’s amazing to me that the owners would be ok with her communicating with customers. In addition, she SLAMS the plates together when she buses the tables. It’s obvious to me that she’s trying to let the owners in the kitchen that she is not happy about picking up dirty plates. It was to the point where it hurt my ears and i was really close to telling her to take it easy but i didn’t want to add to her bad day. I’m sure she’s a nice person but my advise is 1 of 2 things. 1. Be thankful that you have a job considering the economy. 2. Get another job that will make you happier. We all have choices. Also, the place isn’t that clean so it gets me nervous what the back kitchen would look like.

Service is so slow! Came here last week for lunch, and there were two people ahead of me in line. Took me 20 minutes to order– no joke. Got the spicy chicken tortilla soup. It was okay, nothing great. 20 minute wait to order, mediocre food– I’ll skip. There’s other great and faster lunch places in the area.
