What a fantastic delivery and liquor store! The beer selection is overwhelmingly awesome. Boars head products for the sandwiches and they make fresh salsa and guacamole available for purchase. The place is very laid back and has a great beachy vibe. They have a punch card system, 10th sandwich is free. I would recommend the Harpoon or the godfather sandwhich. They are all fantastic though.

Great place for a sandwich. Not much room to sit so get your sandwich and head over to sunset cliffs.

Terrible! WTF! Ordered a Reuben and got cold pastrami with cold lettuce and onions. They even had some type of mustard? Sucks No one in California seems to know how to make any kind of sandwhich correctly.

5 years for me. Always fast and always quality. Love their selection of craft beer and other specialty sodas too. We will even drive over from Clairemont when we have a yen for a great sandwich.

I’ve lived down the street from Chris’s for over 3 months now. And I’ve had the chance to try over half of the sandwiches they serve. My girlfriend and I both agree we haven’t had a bad one yet. The guys there are very cool and love to chat while you’re waiting. It’s a very nice feeling walking in and getting that sort of greeting. Keep it up guys.

Rolled in after a long day and got the Harpoon. Pastrami, provolone, onion roll. It’s possibly the best sandwich I’ve eaten in sd and I love sandwiches. The parking is gold, there are handsome, friendly men making your sandwich, and they have dirty chips. Get over turkey and go try the pastrami. Seriously, do it now.

If you are looking for the perfect sandwich, look no further! I feel like I struck sandwich gold. This is the perfect deli. There is PLENTY of parking, inside is air conditioned and there is patio seating. I go the chicken sandwich with bacon, wrapped in pita bread. It was perfection. I was in hog heaven. Best deli in San Diego, and it is minuets away from the beach!

As a sandwich connoisseur(hey, I am from the bay and we have the best bread known on Earth!!) when I try a new deli I go classic: Turkey & Cheese on Sourdough. From there I know if the deli can make anything thats good where I would feel inclined to try something/anything else off the menu and go there again. That being said, Chris’ Deli is Pretty Okay in my book. The meat flavor and portions were perfect and the sammie came with a pickle too but, it was the bread that didnt live up to its name: Sourdough. Now, is that Chris’s fault? Probably not, I believe that sourdough just cant be made in San Diego and well, just probably Shouldnt be made in San Diego. It’s sad and lifeless and almost tastes like wonder kids bread! Ugh. Alright back to the sandwich review — it took about 20 mins to make, there were at least 10 people in front of me. I also thought it was odd that they take your order and then you pay when you get your sandwich — which means you have to get back in line again to pay and thats kind of annoying. The inside of Chris’s had a good selection of beers and wines, chips and«walk-of-shame» essentials should you need them. The outside has a nice section of patio tables and I felt very comfortable eating my sammie here! So, now that I know the sourdough slices suck I wont order that again but I WILL definitely be back for another sandwich, maybe on a french roll next time, because the meat portion was great and their list of sandwich options looked way bomb! Definitely a fan (Check-In on Unilocal and get a free soda with your purchase)

A hidden gem with kick ass sandwiches and every day needs. Gregg the owner holding court at the counter early in the morning is always a nice way to start off the day. Premium Boars Head products are used in the sandwiches. So stop by and pick up something on the way to the beach.

I come by about once a week and grab a greek captain, I get it every time and never ever regret it. The staff there are super friendly and are always having a good time. Tons of great drinks and snacks to go along with your sandwich, remember to grab a sandwich card, buy 10 get a freebie, sounds like a lot but so far I’ve filled up 3 cards… trust me just get one. The only thing I regret about this place is writing this review, now that my mind is wrapped around that dang sandwich I won’t be able to stop thinking about it until I get my paws on one…

This place rocks. And the guys who work there are awesome. I love the Chris’ Triple Decker Club on sourdough or an onion roll. YUM! The Boar’s Head meat is out of this world :)

Chris’ is a hidden gem of a deli inside of a liquor store. Luckily, my friend who lives near by turned me onto it. They carry a great selection of Boars Head meat and are not stingy about slapping it on your sandwich. You really can’t go wrong with anything here, but I’m actually really digging their veggie sandwich. It comes with your choice of cheese, cucumbers, carrots, sprouts, avocado, spinach, onion, and tomato. So it’s all kinds of delicious goodness piled onto one sandwich. A big bonus, they have an awesome craft beer selection and a huge assortment of chips to pick from.

What can I say, sandwiches pretty much always taste better when someone else makes them for you. And Chris’ knows how to make delicious big fat sandwiches. Their other deli selections are spot on. There is a killer beer selection and root beer selection to boot! Parking never seems to be a problem, they have specials after 6 on week nights and they will hook you up with an extra pickle if you ask nicely. Yep, kinda love it here. Bonus points for having a grand liquor and beer selection to accompany the bangin’ sandwiches and not the typical creepy-dusty-sandwich-bar-at-the-liquor-store combo. Don’t be shy about asking for an extra pickle, you won’t be sorry you did!

The GOOD: «Consistently the BEST sandwiches in San Diego!» But to go along with this, a great Beer selection in the OB area as well! The BAD: There aren’t more locations? The UGLY: Nothing… Great little sandwich & beer location in OB

Gave me a cut rate deal on some hamburger buns a while back, which makes them cool in my book. Too bad my dog got hungry and grabbed two of them right off the grill, cheese and all. Beer here as well. Give it a shot.
