Decent enough sandwich but since when does a sandwich with«everything» have zero mayo or mustard?! I’d hardly call lettuce tomatoes pickles and a little pesto sauce«everything». Very disappointed this time but I would come back again and just be more specific.

Mr. Pickles sucks!!! I’ve been to this location on San Mateo ave, san bruno twice in the last 4 months and both times they have messed up my sandwich. Mr. Pickles is right by my house and reading the reviews on Unilocal I thought it would be a great place to get a sandwich… But oh!! was I wrong. I told them what I wanted on my sandwich went all the way home to discover they messed up my whole sandwich. The second time I went, which was today I ordered 3 sandwiches and to be hold they got the orders wrong on 2 of them. So one word of advice check your food before leaving!!! But I would not go back there ever again! There are so many more sandwich shops around that have greater service and friendly cashiers! I never thought it could be that hard to take an order and make someone their sandwich correctly!

Absolutely LOVE their daily special sandwich(SBFPD?) and the fact that it’s around the corner from my house. My rating fell short of the 5th star because of the wait time. Other than that, YUMMO sandwich spot

Tasty sandwiches. It’s a good place to go to when you’re craving a sandwich. Mr. Pickles has been here for a long time and it’s actually my first time eating here. I thought it was just a pickle sandwich shop, but it’s more than that. I would definitely go here again.

I love Mr. Pickles! Have been to the Castro Valley and Dublin location and had no problems and love the sandwiches. Was in the area by SFO and was craving a nice BBQ sandwich for lunch. I ordered the chicken bbq with Dutch crunch and the wife ordered a turkey avocado with cream cheese. So what’s a bbq sandwich without BBQ sauce?! Well, I guess they forgot! Had a pesto sauce instead which was not too bad but when you are craving a certain food it’s a bit disappointing. Wife had her sandwich but had an abundance of pesto sauce as well. Would say she did not thoroughly enjoy her sandwich. So I called to question the bbq sauce and they had said that there is new employees and they guess they forgot! After second attempt of my displeasure he offered to have me come back to pick up some bbq sauce! REALLY!!! Come back after leaving and hungry and wait longer to eat my lunch. YA! NO! I also questioned the pesto sauce. He says we put pesto on all the sandwiches if not specified! Umm… Really?! Eaten Mr pickles before and this was actually the first time we had pesto sauce. Thanks for the help guy! A better gesture would of been nice. Free sandwich? Wasn’t planning on coming back anyway after this but the gesture would of worked! Ok, done rambling! Thanks for reading!

One of my go to places for sandwiches. Guys in there are friendly. Big selection of sandwiches. The Sandwiches are big. Price is reasonable. Parking right in front.

The Dutch crunch bread is awesome! Definitely going back when we go to San Fran. Don’t expect much in hospitality, but the Turkey sandwiches are outstanding.

Mr. Pickles sandwiches are one of my favorites at the moment. There aren’t really any authentic Italian delis around anymore, so this is the next best thing. I got the Baja special, which was up to my taste with turkey, avocado, red roasted pepper hummus, and all the works on a Dutch crunch roll. The place was open at 10AM, which is when I’m often hungry for lunch, so I was thrilled I could satisfy my lunch craving right on time. The service was standard and adequate. I wish delis would go back to shredded lettuce. I can’t stand big hunks of bulky lettuce used to take up space. It is the only thing I disliked, and that is across the board on any sandwich. It is lazy and takes away from all the other goodness. I have to remember next time to nix the lettuce.

I ordered through eat24 and delivery only took 1 hour &45 minutes in the 1:00 — 3:00pm range. I wasnt thrilled with the $ 35 minimum or delivery fee and ended up spending $ 45 on 4 sandwiches. I was even less thrilled when the sandwiches arrived, as all four have a copious amount of this disgusting pesto that overpowers all other tastes, pickles/onions/tomatoes, and mustard(which makes me terribly sick). NONE of this is listed on eat24. When I contacted eat24, they didn’t give a fuck. I was out $ 45. I thought this was an eat24 thing, but the menu the restaurant gave me didn’t mention all this extra crap anywhere at all. So, it’s a Mr. Pickle issue. I took off the tops of all sandwiches and made 4 half sandwiches with the bottoms but tgere’s so much pesto that this couldn’t save the sandwiches except for two and the bread was over broiled on one of those. 2. The grass was hard from over broiling and stale in general. I do give them credit that the bottoms of the one sandwich were really good. They get a star for that. Oh, and the«triple Decker» blt is just a hoagie with bacon, one leaf of lettuce, two slices of tomato, and a ton of the above mentioned ingredients they don’t tell you about.

This was, and still is, the go to place for sandwiches. For all you guys that run and wait in line at those newer, ‘hipper’ sandwich spots with a menu that is a list of 100 different ways to make a sandwich, this place is where you could get that hot, toasty sandwich that tastes way better for way cheaper. Their formula hasn’t changed — good meat to bread ratio, quality ingredients, good size. I love that they are still a neighborhood sandwich place and support local sports. Stop in and enjoy the classic sandwich makers. They won’t disappoint.

Service was great and the staff were friendly. However, the restaurant is dirty(my daughter wanted to get out of there before we even ordered because it was«yucky» and«smelled gross») and my sandwich was not as ordered(missing cheddar!). We had a carry out so we weren’t able to correct it after getting to our destination. That said, the sandwich I ate was ok as far as sandwiches go, the chicken seemed fresher than most sandwich places and the bread was tasty.

So close to home and I FINALLY stopped in for my second ever visit to Mr Pickles! I love this chain… Great sandwiches! This shop was clean, small, not overly crowded during lunch hour buuut… The hours could use some help. I hate that they close at 5 during the week and aren’t even open on Sunday’s. The staff was a little slow and rude to each other(felt bad for the new guy). The guy at the register didn’t even thank me for my business. Call me old school, but that really means a lot to me. Fresh ingredients, great selection and portion. I’ll go back!

I called in an order for a sandwich earlier today. Staff was really nice and helpful. I ordered the Doghouse. By the time I got to the shop, my sandwich was ready and I was good to go. For the pastrami lovers out there, I highly recommend getting the doghouse. It also has bacon and swiss cheese in it. How can you go wrong with bacon and cheese? I’d have to say that the doghouse is the perfect combination of delight and deliciousness. Thanks for making a bangin’ sammy Mr. Pickle’s. I’m officially a fan.

Never coming here again. I ordered over the phone and paid about 12 dollars for a drink, sandwich and chips. I got home and opened up my sandwich and I was so disappointed. Two layers of meet, 3 tiny cubes of avocado, a piece of lettuce and barely any onions. Umm really?!? I could’ve made a better sandwich at home! I wanted to take my sandwich back but I was so hungry and had no time. Never coming to this one again. I’ve gone to the Millbrae one a few times and never had a problem.

Only came here because I was craving a sandwich in this hot day and little luccas was almost an hour wait. Well it might have been better to wait that hour for a sure thing than to go elsewhere and get a sandwich with stale bread. Fresh ingredients is what makes a sandwich. I usually give places a couple of chances before giving up on them but if you can’t make a proper sandwich the first time hen you have lost me as a customer forever.

We had such a negative experience here with the service, and the unbelievable rudeness, that I have to give this place a one star. We would rather drive to Millbrae rather than come here again in the future. We tried to buy sandwhiches for opening day at ATT park. We asked that there be no cheese in the sandwhiches because my husband has milk allergies. We stated«no cheese» multiple times just to make sure. We get to the park and open the sandwhiches and see that there is melted cheese all over the meat. Completely inedible. So we end up having to spend more money on ballpark food when we were looking forward to the sandwhiches. And ballpark food is NOT cheap. After the game, we rode the train home and tried to go to Mr. Pickles to return the food, get money back, or have new sandwhiches made. After all, its not a super cheap meal and we didn’t get to eat one bite. We got there right when they closed, so decided to go back the next day. We return in the morning and explain the situation. They pretty much said that we were possible liars and how do they know we got these sandwhiches from their store. They asked why we didn’t return the same day. We explained that we had taken the food, jumped on the train, and didn’t open it until we were at the park. When we returned they were closed. They would not budge and were soo rude! They looked at us like we were trying to con them. We said we don’t even need money back, but would appreciate it if they could remake our sandwhiches so we could actually eat it! In the end they refused and we just left the food there, and they turned and threw it into the trash. It was truly terrible and rude service. So not only did we pay for these sandwhiches, not get to eat them, but we had to spend more money on ballpark food and then were questioned about our sincerity. Thank you Mr. Pickles.

I love their vegetarian sandwich on Dutch Crunch. They also toast it. I can speak for the other sandwiches since I’m vegetarian but I’m sure they’re delish! Friendly staff and pretty busy during lunch time. Check it out!
