Stopped in for a steak and a few drinks, and surprisingly everything was tasty. The crowd is older, but the service and everything eslse was spot on. I’d go back again when I’m in the area

If you are looking for a chill bar with delicious food, this is the place to go. The service is great, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is a nice chill vibe and it all comes together when the waiter is hot. I think this was a great place to celebrate my birthday with my family since the food and service were amazing! Will definitely return. Oh! And the price for the food is a good deal. Very happy customers.

One of the best steaks we’ve had. Shrimp cocktail for appetizer was just as good. We were on our way up the mountain and decided to get a bite to eat before we went up. Rolled in about 6:00 pm and again, the food was the best. Nice friendly atmosphere. If you are anywhere in the area make the stop here for great food and drinks, they must have good wine also because a lot was being served.

Best prime rib I’ve ever eaten since I moved here. But the only complaint I have is that the service was really slow and the people bringing out the food had no idea what it was. The dining room is a little small and kind of makes you feel claustrophobic but we went on new years eve so all the cool old ladies were there drinking cosmos and made the atmosphere better. Over all I would come here if I was wanting to pay more then $ 20 on a meal but I promise you that I could eat prime rib everyday in my life and be happy getting poor.

I first came here on my own to drink alone, and ended up talking with the regulars and the staff– wonderful people! I came back last week and had the best rack of lamb I’ve had anywhere, tender, tons of meat(even mint jelly for the old timers). Tonight, my husband and I went in for their Wednesday night Steak special: steak and potato for $ 10. Worth every penny. When I said medium rare, closer to rare– that’s exactly what I got. And even with the cheap price, the steak wasn’t– good quality and a large piece!

This is a fine institution. It’s a dark room with leather booths, twinkling Christmas lights, and several nights of karaōke. So, A+ on atmosphere. I came on a Sunday and ordered the steak special(medium rare, juicy, probably 8 ounces and it didn’t need any sauce) which came with a hefty baked potato for $ 9.95. The server boy was cute and friendly — couldn’t have helped or offered more. In a shopping center — but I would come here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect for a small gathering but if you want to bring w big party they have a special room for you. They have specials every night of the week. Go in and check them out. Nice bar area. They have karaōke Thursday through Sunday. The karaōke guy is awesome and have an awesome way of presenting the next singer. Great hole in the wall for a first date or a new spot to try. The staff and management is great as well.

This local joint is getting to be one of our favorites in town! The steak special on Wednesdays and Sundays is a really great deal. The meat is cut thick and is very tender– order it «medium». Ryan is the most awesome server there who is very attentive and polite. He offers refills on your drinks even before it’s halfway gone. The bananas foster crème brûlée was so good that I even order it before my meal sometimes

This was my first dining/bar experience in San Bernardino and I thought it was solid… I guess San Diego has spoiled me because Unilocalers up here seem to love this place! I’m not saying they are wrong, for all I know it could be the best place in San Bernardino. I thought the food was good, I just didn’t find it to be anything particularly outstanding. Service was friendly, but it did take quite awhile for the food to arrive. They have a good happy hour with $ 1.50 beef tacos and $ 3.00 fish tacos, the usual domestic beer suspects(Bud, Coors light) on special. I did find a good local orange wheat for another couple bucks. They have a unique thing where they give out raffle tickets for a free happy hour drink. Someone in our group won one so that was fun. Overall a good place for an evening happy hour hang out, and they also have some nicer menu items, do it would be a dinner option too.

Beyond delicious ! My ribeye melted in my mouth. The entire meal was great even the side vegetables were to die for. The location is kinda hidden and resides in an old location, yet I assure you the food is excellent . So glad my family and I tried. Will defently come back !

We were so impressed with our food! I had the Filet Mignon and my husband had the Rib Eye. We also shared the cheese and apple appetizer and it was so delicious. I even told my husband after we finished the salad and appetizer I was full and probably couldn’t eat most of my meal. Well… it came out and it was seriously so good I couldn’t stop eating it. I was happily surprised when I saw vegetables as a side, and boy did those have some flavor. We tried somewhere new for dinner, and this place exceeded our expectations. Great Service!

My husband and I found this place by chance on our way to Crestline. It was so quaint and cozy. Our server Ryan was kind and so on top of everything we needed. We got so much attention, everyone including the owner stopped by our table to make sure we were happy. The food was amazing! I eat frequently at 5 star restaurants in OC and the food and service I experienced here could easily compete. My husband I split the prime rib dinner, clam chowder, baked brie and banana crème brule dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection. We couldn’t have asked for a better place with kinder people to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What an unexpected surprise.

Looked on Unilocal for local restaurant with good reviews. Tired of the same old things around. Saw all the great reviews about Ye Olde Lamplighter and decided to give them a try. We get together with our wonderful friends who happen to be our neighbors and love to find a nice restaurant to eat, relax, and talk. Well I must say this is one of the BESTRESTAURANTS we have been in in years! The food is AWESOME! I had the filet mignon and my hubby and friends has the prime rib and we all four agreed they were excellent in flavor as well as value. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an exceptional meal at a very reasonable price. We will be back often!!! Thank you, From a VERYSATISIFIEDCUSTOMER.

We planned a trip, and looked for dinner options near San Bernardino. The reviews were spot on, this place rocks! You can tell the locals know how to have a great time here, and the food is excellent as well. The place looks like a English pub from the outside, and its located in a strip mall. Once inside, the main bar room/dining area is dimmed and the karaōke is in full effect. We ordered two prime rib dinners and ahi tuna for an appetizer. We really enjoyed the split pea soup w ham, they offer a generous amount of ahi tuna, and the star of the show, the prime rib, was on point. Our server was super nice, and the runners brought bread, horseradish etc. promptly. This place has a real person, blue collar feel while providing great food. The people here are having a blast, singing and enjoying themselves. This is a hidden gem, and a great place w down to earth people having fun.

Nepotism. Yes, Sharon our delightful server, and Chef Holland are married. Not a bad combination as they both exemplify the best of Mom and Pop owned pub owners. First of all, Ye Olde Lamplighter is little hard to find until you realize their cute exterior is wedged in between some non-descript store fronts of an aging strip mall. The front looks like a quaint, old English pub. And once you step inside, it is so darkly lit you wonder if you have arrived at a speak-easy. No matter, faces emerge from the darkness with welcoming words and friendly smiles. On slow days, find yourself a table on the bar side, complete with ancient red upholstered booths, a wooden dance floor, karaōke set up, and TV and Lotto screens, and settle in for some amazingly good eats. We ordered from the dinner entrees, a rib eye and a top sirloin. Turns out, this is a great choice, their steaks are generous, cooked beautifully, and are very tender and tasty. We started with salad. Even though I did not like my out of the bottle tasting Italian dressing nor the croutons, Mr. B was quite impressed with his blue cheese dressing. They have many more dressings to choose from, hopefully some of them house made. Our steaks arrived with a plump, melt in your mouth, baked potato. The softened butter, sour cream and chives arrived in coffee cups, piled high, with two spoons for each, so you could glop it on with abandon. Yummeee! Dinner was delicious! The bar drinks, well poured. And we felt like we were treated like old friends. Best of all, our meals were filling yet not priced as high as fine dining establishments. This made for great memories, a good place to stop on our way through town. We shall return.

Most amazing! Had fish tacos. Best I’ve ever tasted! So fresh & tasty. My husband had ground beef tacos. He really liked his meal, but I was far more animated about my meal. Natch. This would not surprise our friends. Best $ 1.50 taco in town! I’m full.(Besides my friends who make them from scratch. But… YOU are OFFICIALLY on notice! Good luck. They were fab. I’ve not even mentioned what I had for dessert yet. Brownie Sundae! Warm brownie, with real whipped cream, drizzled in chocolate & Carmel sauce. mmmmmmmmmm I would give this meal another star, if it was possible! A+ Home run! PS — the atmosphere is dimly lit, with tiny accent lights and a cool grove coming out of the speakers.

Ever have an experience at a place that was so nice, you had to hold off on Unilocaling it cause you didn’t know where to start? This is a very apt description of the wife and my experience at Ye Olde Lamplighter a couple weeks back. So I was planning my weekend one day and I opened up Unilocal to look for good places in the area for steak. The usual suspects popped up, of course — but also, this place called Ye Olde Lamplighter popped up. I was vaguely familiar with the name. It’d been a fixture in the north end of town for at least a couple of decades. But to be honest, I thought it was a dive bar. Apparently I was very, very wrong; and i’ve never been so happy to be wrong in my life. The Unilocal reviews raved about the place. I was intrigued, and so I planned our date night accordingly. The best way to describe Ye Olde Lamplighter is a cross between The Tartan and Tony’s Spunky Steer, with a bit of Cheers thrown in for good measure. Its cozy without being small — with wood paneling here and there that attest to the age of the place, without making it seem dated. The place boasts a full bar and a decent drink list. The food… ah yes… the reason we came here in the first place. Their menu is just the right size; with enough offerings to give the guest a good variety without overwhelming them with choices. We came on a Sunday, which just happened to be Steak Night. The wife ordered the special — their Top Sirloin. I shared a couple bites and I must say we were both impressed. To us, the Gold Standard for steaks is(of course!) The Hitching Post II in Buellton… so we’re a bit spoiled. But Lamplighter’s steak was among one of the best we’ve had in a long time. At least as good as offered by major steakhouse chains in the area. Its good enough to order at full prince and is even more of a value when on sale. I had a boneless chicken breast, stuffed with cornbread stuffing and. WRAPPEDINBACON! That last part itself made it pretty damn epic. And let me tell you, it was delicious! Everything we had that night was yummy. The service was also outstanding. Our waitress was one of the nicest, most helpful people we’ve come across in a long time. All the workers we encountered there were friendly. We left that night to have some drinks at the Mission Inn and said we’d be back later for dessert. When we returned, the helpful waitress had remembered what dessert we were interested in from before and put the order in as we were sitting down. How nice! :) It was a lemoncello cake and was absolutely scrumptious! We even ordered a second dessert; a hot fudge/caramel sundae, All I can say is Mmmmmmmmmm. For those of you who don’t know — Ye Olde Lamplighter is located on 40th street right near the new TJ Maxx. Its easy to miss. However, I highly recommend NOT missing this place. Their food is great, the atmosphere is fun and the employees are even better! Heck. one of the co-owners is one of the chefs! Nice to see that kind of personal service still exists. Certainly worth a visit!
