Heard great things about this place, but had a mixed experience. Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Cinnamon roll pancakes were delish and the fresh fruit salad was very fresh and tasty. Service was superb! Our waitress was very attentive. But the seating hostess was brusque and demanding: even if your whole party walks in together and is ready to be seated and there are tables available, you have to sign in and give your name and how many in your party. Why??? Saw this over and over while I waited for my friend to arrive. Also, this place calls itself a bakery, so I was surprised to see a delivery guy making multiple trips in through the front door carrying bins of baked goods. I guess the bakery isn’t on the premises and they don’t have a service entrance? It was strange to see bins piled high with pre-sliced bread being carried in from the outdoors with no lids or covers on the bins at all. And it was super hot in there, like over 80 degrees. Customers fanning themselves with menus, but they wouldn’t turn on the AC. Strange place. Can’t say I’d recommend for or against it. :-/

Food is good,…but not worth putting up with the rudeness from the seating hostess and the owner! On our last visit 2 weeks ago we waited for a table for 40min. The seating hostess was beyond rude as we walked to the table so we decided to leave and no longer put up with this type of behavior… starts with the owner who consistently has a bad attitude and it totally indifferent as to how the employees behave(or misbehave)!

Wow! And not in the good sense. My friends and I had an 8 am Sat breakfast date. Two of us arrived at 8 am, and though the restaurant was completely empty, the owner(?) was very strict in not letting us be seated, until«our full party had arrived». One friend notified us that she was running late. When she arrived, around 8:20, we decided not to wait for our 4th friend, as I had to leave by 9:30. I told the owner that we were now ready to be seated. She then asked in a dubious tone, «there are just THREE of you???», «yes», I replied. Again, she skeptically queried, «Just THREE!?». «Yes», I said resolutely. She then proceeded to seat us. About 5 minutes later, just after we had been served our drinks, our other friend did arrive. No sooner had our friend sat down at the table, than the scowling owner(?), slapped another menu on our table, and said in a scolding manner, «Your FOURTHPARTY has arrived!» After we finished our meal, the owner and her young henchman, kept coming to our table in an effort to hurry us along, to the point, that one of my friends apologized for still being there. We left at about 9:30 am. I will never go to Twin Sisters again. The«seating-gestapo» owner treats her patrons like they are there to do her bidding, and rebukes them if they don’t comply. She has no inkling of the importance of treating guests with grace and hospitality. Twin Sisters is not the only breakfast place in town. We will not be going back. PS, The food is just ok, the coffee is below average, but our server was friendly and efficient.

Enjoyed a hearty breakfast on a Saturday morning. The restaurant was crowded though there were open tables. They ask you to sign your name on a clipboard with the number in your party. We waited a decent bit of time before the hostess even went back to the clipboard even though there were open tables. The cashier was a bit sassy about the experience. The server was excellent and our breakfast tacos were good. Overall, the good food helped me ignore the strange host situation at the beginning. We will be back.

Twin Sisters has always been a SA local and always busy but it always worth the wait. I can get anything on the menu and be full. Their combo meals are great and their split pea soup is to die for.

First time trying out for breakfast. Had the Scrambled Egg special with bacon, had to add a side of toast and also added a side of their non-greasy chorizo. My husband had the half of French toast and added a side sausage. Food was good, especially the non-greasy chorizo. Parking was lacking, service was okay but could have been better and it took too long for the order to get out. It was almost $ 40 for just the 3 of us. They make their money in getting you to add sides when it should be included in the dish anyway.

I like the concept and the vibe I got from other reviews of Twin Sisters. We went early on Mother’s Day and I ordered the oatmeal and my husband ordered breakfast tacos. I would be willing to try them for dinner in the future. I’m not much of a breakfast person.

I have loved Twin Sisters for years and have referred many friends and family to them. I highly recommend going anytime! Great food, service, & atmosphere. Being gluten intolerant, my only wish is that they had a buckwheat /GF pancake. :)

The atmosphere is awesome, very artsy and hip. The service was lacking a little bit. Very nice but not engaging. The food was bland. I ordered the scrambled eggs dish. The potatoes were flavorless and the bacon was cold. The whole wheat pancakes were alright. The only thing that was really good was the coffee. Either way, what doesn’t work for me might work for someone else.

Stopped here for lunch after visiting the McNay Art Museum. It is very convenient to the museum. The food is excellent. I had the vegetable soup and it was outstanding; the broth and potatoes were well done while the corn and beans were still crunchy and fresh. Everyone in my party of four enjoyed their lunch. Well done!

This was my first time visiting and I loved this café. It is very cozy and welcoming. I had the French toast, side of bacon and coffee. It is very affordable and delicious. I love the décor and the look of the building. I will be back soon! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Omelet in the half shell: I’ve been to this place at least 6 times and it’s always a huge let down. Service for getting food is slow, and the food is bland and mediocre at best. But today me and a friend found several egg shells in our eggs and not small pieces but large. Don’t waste your time on this place you’d be better off making breakfast at home.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night after reading the praise of their veggie burgers in San Antonio Magazine. When my 20s something hubby and I walked in we were surprised on two accounts. Pleasantly surprised to find there was live music(from 7−9pm). Tonight it was a jazz duet who took requests and mingled with guests which we enjoyed. Secondly, a neutral surprise was that we were noticeably the youngest in the restaurant. We didn’t mind, only noted that perhaps this isn’t the hip place young people hang. The veggie burger was indeed good, though a little too vegetarian? I know I’m sounding ridiculous but I enjoy a vegetarian burger that more reflects a sturdy patty over one that’s on the softer side. Nice environment for a chill date. To be honest, it wouldn’t be worth it without the live music so if we come again, it would definitely be for a Friday evening.

The food is amazing!!! There’s so many menu options. I’ve had the migas, vaquero omelette, and breakfast tacos. Every dish was served hot and timely. Healthy options for those watching their calories. I can tell the produce is super fresh. The only thing that keeps me from giving a full 5 star is the wait. However it tells you something if you have to wait every time you visit.

I was visiting San Antonio on business and needed to meet with my co-worker before flying home to San Diego. He lives in San Antonio, but is a workaholic and doesn’t get out much. We found this Diner using the Unilocal app and decided to check it out. I am so glad we did! They have the most delicious French Toast and creative Pancakes. I had the scrambled egg special that included fresh fruit, homestyle potatoes, and a choice of pancake, toast or French toast. My coworker, a vegetarian, had a whole wheat pancake with almonds with a side of potatoes. Everything is made fresh! My coworker kept flirting with the very friendly and attentive waitress. She handled him very well. Everything was amazing, and now my San Antonio co-worker has an awesome place to take his clients and friends. Thanks for being so awesome!

The food here has and is always excellent. Lately, however, service has been awful. As an ex-server I am usually pretty forgiving as I know everyone has bad days; however, bad service plus bad attitude is unforgivable. She’s lucky that I start at 15% and go up because she wouldn’t have gotten a tip from anyone else.

Before visiting the McNay, had lunch here. Everything was fresh and delicious. The turkey burger was perfect. The service was great too. The popularity of this local eatery makes you know that this isba good place to meet and eat.

Came here for breakfast the other day because I heard that they have good vegetarian options, and I was eating with my vegetarian friend. The waiter recommended that I order the migas with spinach and garlic. It was pretty good and they allowed me to substitute the beans that came with it for potatoes(I loooove potatoes). The only complaint is that when he recommended it, he didn’t tell me that I would get charged extra for the garlic and spinach(~$ 1 each). My friend ordered tacos with tofu chorizo, avocado, black beans, and grilled bell peppers. She described the tacos as bland and lacking seasoning. Overall, this place isn’t bad, and if you’re a vegetarian looking for breakfast taco options it may be worth a try. For the non-vegetarians though, I think there are much better places to eat at cheaper prices.

One of my all time favorite breakfast and lunch places. Everything is fresh, organic and delicious! Lots of choices for vegan and vegetarian diets. The veggie burger is easily one of the best in the city. The tacos are quite large and they are just top notch all the way around. Coffee is great, friendly service. I pretty consistently have the same waiter, he always keeps a wonderful demeanor and is on top of his game around there for sure. Just a lovely place with a very good vibe, if you get a booth by the window you can watch the birds outside come to the feeders. I love it here & always look forward to coming back.

Came around noon for lunch Saturday, and it was pretty packed. The food took a while to arrive(being that it is sandwiches), but service was fast. I tried the vegan sandwich, corn bread, and chicken salad sandwich on while wheat bread. The bread was very different than I expected. The bread is dense and filling, and the ingredients are fresh. I enjoyed the light flavor and a whole sandwich was quite a bit. I would recommend a half sandwich and salad or soup combo instead. The corn bread was good, but not fluffy and delicious since it is in a muffin form as opposed to a square like some other places. The vegan sandwich was filled of purple onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a thin layer of peanut butter. I thought the flavor was fresh, tasty, and different. The chicken salad was also very light and not full if mayonnaise like others I have eaten. The chicken is broken up into larger shredded pieces, so the texture made it feel more natural. There are no fountain drinks, only canned and a variety of delicious breakfast and lunch beverages. The side for the sandwiches was chips, but I thought it was a little odd without some fresh salsa to go with it. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would recommend this place for a light lunch of vegetarians.
