How times have changed. Frequented this place so much in past. So my daughter is there celebrating her birthday so I called wanted to surprise her and pick up the tab. Was told I can’t do that over the phone. Ugh. How do company’s like Amazon make it work for billions of people and it doesn’t work in Alamo Heights?

If icould, I would give it 0 stars. Hubby and I were driving by and decided to try it out. We regret ever going here. The menu was so short and nothing sounded appetizing. The mildew smell of the restaurant wasn’t helping either. Once we ordered, we waited about an hour for 2 burgers and fries! There was a large group in the restaurant, about 8 people having a meeting, they only ordered drinks, which were served super quickly, so I’m not sure why they took so long with our food. After an hour of waiting, we finally got our food. Unfortunately it wasn’t what we expected. A fatty burger that had tomato slices thicker than the meat patty, burnt hamburger bread and about 4 cold burnt fries. Hubby and I were starving at this point so we just closed our eyes and ate it. We were sick for over a week! We also never got our drinks refilled and never got straws or napkins even after asking multiple times. The waitress was more interested in her beer money than serving all of her customers. She was also flurting with my husband, she would never look at me even if I was talking to her. CHEAPTRASH! My husband thought she was so disrespectful, even told her to look at me when I speak to her and that she needs to be more respectful.

The wait time is awful. I’m here on a Tuesday night and it’s not that busy at all, yet it took over 25mins to get served. Another 20 before they took our order for food. Now it’s close to midnight and I’m still waiting on my check.

B.O.T.T. It’s delicious. You have to come try their brunch. It’s great. Don’t let the look of the place inside push you away. The food is great and the people are nice, plus lots of tvs.

Broadway 5050 has some of the best burgers I have ever had. I strongly recommend the burger of the week, which the owner has fun coming up with every Monday. Almost as important as the burger, their sweet potato fries are the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and magical. And don’t even get me started on the tater tots. If there’s a way you can get both, do it. If you’re able to get there for breakfast or brunch it is definitely a good move. I didn’t even know they had brunch until I was there for Sunday football no got the avocado-bacon-cheese omelette which rocked and a friend got the 5050 Benedict which looked salivating. I’ll be back for that. Overall this is a big ol’ recommend. Great food, fun atmosphere and good beer selection.

Average burger… decent fries– for $ 10+ Beer options were ‘ok’ and the place seems to cater to the younger crowd. Probably wouldn’t go back…

I think eating and drinking behind the bar right in front of customers is very unprofessional. That’s all I gotta say about that.

A coworker and I were here for lunch, he ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and I ordered the El Jefe burger, both of us got onion rings, which are very flavorful. El Jefe burger’s patty is juicy, but not too greasy, however, it is a bit salty, but it is still a very good burger. Love the croissant type buns. The Philly CheeseSteak is great, my friend said it is better than R&B’s Taste of Chicago’s Cheese Steak. And I agree Our waitress is fast and friendly Parking is kind hard to find Great place to grab a bite for lunch

Like most, wondering what happened to Broadway 50⁄50 and the old menu with Quintin Tarantino references. Short and standard menu left me wondering why we came in. Had a basket of fried pickles and got fried battered slices with no taste of pickles once so ever. Nothing special bout the burger or chicken sandwich, at least the fries where good. Table had a funky smell to it and the place felt old and forgotten. No sure what happened 50⁄50 but seems like the changes made werent for the better. Waitrres was nice and friendly but no offering of beer selection when i clearly asked for a bar menu and was told they dont provide one. I know its an open bar area so i could see the tap selection but with so many new beers now a days, the handles dont provide enough info most of the time, just the beer co. name. Look into a bar menu, maybe specialty drinks could help too.

I was expecting a 50’s type of restaurant when I came in, smelling of mold only to want to walk out before trying their amazing burgers! This would be kind of a dive bar except their were kids with families in this place. To my conclusion is that it is not a cute 50’s restaurant but a bar with good food, which is good. It is also a plus that they have large 60″ TVs to watch games, a pool table & shuffle board. I’d wanna come in to this place on a weekend when they have groups play, so for now 3 stars for their smell & confusing look & undefined style to «used to be 50’s restaurant-but wanna be punk bar»…

What happened to this place? It used to have a big menu now just sandwiches and drinks. Played sports instead of music. If you just want a drink it’s ok, has totally lost it’s ambiance.

It’s changed after the grease fire, remodeling, and change of ownership. There is no more of a diner theme and the Tarantino themed menu is gone. The fried mushrooms are no longer available and the menu is nowhere near as big as it used to be. You used to be able to smoke in here but not after the change of owners. The food doesn’t compare what it used to be and the atmosphere is all gone, shame seeing as my wife and I would go almost every Saturday afternoon back before the grease fire.

I visited the Broadway 5050 expecting a Quentin Tarantino-themed restaurant. I was SO disappointed when I walk into a restaurant with no theme! The atmosphere? I just don’t dig it. It looks a little dirty… BUT the food and service made up for my initial disappointment. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Anytime she caught our sodas less than ¾ full, she’d snatch our cup and bring us a refill. My family and I commented on how great she was. We all ordered cheeseburgers. The Broadway 5050 certainly serves up a tasty burger. Thick, tender meat that drips juice as you take a bite into the sandwich. The bun is slightly sweet and compliments the flavor of the patty well, which is the element of the burger my whole family and I felt mesmerized by. The beef patty truly is seasoned to unique perfection! It’s zesty and playful. It just has personality. Try the burgers here and you won’t regret your decision! Also, order onion rings instead of fries. The fries were a bit too greasy, but the onion rings rule.

My first trip back, after the big«grease fire» and«remodel» was a few weeks ago, on a Saturday night. The crowd was sparse, and the guy singing was ok, but too loud to hear my friend talking to me. Bartender was good. Overall, not a fun place to go. Last night I broke down and went for dinner. The nachos were store bought chips w canned refries, drenched in tasteless«cheese» with a teaspoonful of guacamole on top. The Diablos(bacon-wrapped-chicken-wrapped-jalapeños) tasted like Costco frozen bits thrown in the fryer. The décor is sad and uncomfortable. I will not go back to the 5050. It is too depressing, knowing what it once was, years ago, and how it was neglected and now destroyed.

This is a casual neighborhood bar that is good for catching sports games — here’s why: 1 — Off Broadway between Hildebrand and Austin Hwy makes it accessible 2 — Mediocre beer selection(Guinness is the only dark beer, for example) 3 — Service was slow/poor on both of my visits so far… either the staff gets overwhelmed easily, or they have been short-staffed for Spurs game nights. 4 — Ample food portions 5 — AWESOMEBIGSCREEN TVs for sports! They use a projector, at least a half dozen 50″+ televisions, and perfect volume.

This place has good and bad. The burgers are good, the drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is cool, especially if you’re a Tarantino fan. However, this place is extremely smokey. I don’t mind smoking but this place is on another level. The waitstaff isn’t usually the most attentive. If you’re just going for a few beers with buddies, this place is fine. It’s really more of a neighborhood bar, I wouldn’t travel across town for it.
