Folawn’s has exceptional service! Everyone is always so friendly. I highly recommend Gabby for cut and color — she is a Balayage expert. I also bring my 5 year old daughter here for her haircuts. At around $ 20 for a kids cut, you get a superb Aveda cut for the same price as a cheesy kids salon ;)

I am so pleased with Gloria, an established hair care professional at The Spa @ Folawn’s. She does an amazing job with not only my cut, but also with my color and highlights. I am able to let her know what I «think» I want done, and she is able to create it. Gloria is certainly a professional and is someone that I would highly recommend at Folawn’s.

If you are looking for a day or relaxation this is NOT the place to go. I walked in for the first time with an appointment to get my nails done because my friend suggested it. I was rushed to pick a color. Mind you I had just walked in. When I decided to switch spots with my friend to pick the color I wanted another nail technician named Mary and her customer got involved in our conversation which had nothing to do with them. They rolled their eyes because I didn’t want to do my nailed so rushed. I’m paying for a service and dislike being rushed. That incident was so unprofessional and weird that I decided not to do my nails there after all. I haven’t had such bad customer service in such a long time! Being a non gratuity salon fits them well!

I love this place! Very friendly and I love that they talk to you one on one before they start your cut. I recommend this salon to all my friends and family. Go see Maggie. She does a great cut and color. You won’t be disappointed :)

Absolutely LOVE this place. Mary has been doing my nails for a while and she is awesome! Bianca cut and colored my hair and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone is so so friendly and it it the BEST Aveda salon in San Antonio. Trust me I have been to a couple others and the customer service is seriously lacking. This place is GREAT!

This is a great place to get everything done without having to go to several other places. If you are busy mom who can do a one stop to give your self a treat, Folawns is the best place. Waxing, a pedicure, a cute style, and the atmosphere is just so relaxing. It’s a nice get away! #whyilovefolawns

I have been going to Folawn’s for about 5 years. I get a massage and facial once a month and Susen is fantastic! I also see the equally fantadtic Mallory every two months for my lash and brow tint and brow wax. I always feel pampered after my visits. The front desk staff are very friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend Folawn’s! Love this place!

Love Gabby and all who work at Folawns. Gabby has been cutting my hair and my kids hair for 5 years and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Love that we are always greeted with a hello and a smiling face.

I have been coming to spa at Folawns for about a year now. I had the same hair dresser for a long time and after moving to San Antonio, I had tried several different salons. After one haircut with Christina, I knew I had found a great hair dresser and a great salon. All of the staff have been welcoming and kind every visit. I now keep up with hair trims(even though my hair is pretty long) and don’t dread getting a haircut like I used to. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a new salon that is friendly and comfortable.

I’ve been going here for my haircut for over a year now and have never been disappointed. Susan and Lindsey are both amazing at men’s haircuts. I love how they fade the sides of my hair. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

I’ve been a loyal customer since 2004. In 11 years, I’ve had 2 hairstylists — Brittany, who retired, and now David. As long as I live in San Antonio, I will probably always get my haircut, manicure, pedicure, and facials there. Pros: David is the best master stylist. He always knows what I want to do to my hair, even if I don’t. His haircuts are always consistent and he knows how to make sure my hair looks good. Every time I have an appointment, they always give me a nice glass of wine to enjoy my session. The spa is a non-gratuity facility, which is great. You know exactly what you are paying for. Pay them in word of mouth, which is what I’m doing now! Cons: None. Tip: On Black Friday, they usually an awesome gift card deal in the morning. Buy $ 200 worth of gift cards, get a $ 50 gift card for free. I never miss it. Even if I’m out of town, I have someone buy it for me!

Great place to get relaxed, rejuvenated, and pampered! I went in for the works; massage, facial, pedicure, and cut & blow dry. I came out looking and feeling wonderful. Dolores gave a very relaxing & hydrating facial, Alisa pampered my feet, Morgan soothed my muscles and Rebel gave me a wonderful new style. This is an Aveda Salon and after all your treatments, you are going to want to purchase these wonderful sensory products. Folawn’s carries a wide selection of hair and skin care products as well as USANA wellness products. Everyone at the salon is a professional with many years of training so you know you are getting high quality service. Expect to look and feel your best after visiting here.

I always leave here feeling fabulous, no matter which service I come for, although I can attest to the wonderful hair styling and gentle waxing services. I feel like a valued customer and have made this place my go-to for beauty regimens. I always look forward to my monthly appointments!

The spa pedicures are the best! So relaxing and the staff is so friendly. I have been coming for a couple of years and have always had a wonderful spa experience. From haircuts to massages facials pedis and manis I have had all these services and have always been very happy. I always look forward to my appointments. I also love the Aveda products!

I’ve been coming to Folawn’s for about three years since I moved into the neighborhood. I’ve had a few different hair and nail services done here and have always had a good experience. Yvonne, a master stylist, did my hair cuts for about a year and a half. She is always very thorough, considerate, friendly, and does an AMAZING job. This woman knows hair! I took a break to grow my hair out and got a few quick cuts from some cheapie places to tide me over, and then decided to come back to Folawn’s for a good cut. I couldn’t get an appointment with Yvonne(she books up fast!) so I booked with Lyndsey. I went in for a cut(trim/reshaping) and really liked the way it turned out and my experience with her. She’s funny and down to earth so it’s never awkward silence while you’re in the chair! While she was working, I told her about my hair dye woes and how I hated the grays I was getting. We made a plan to do my roots and then a balayage/ombré highlight. She told me we could do it in one appointment in about three hours, so I booked it for that weekend. I’m not going to lie, it took forever(definitely three hours, maybe more), but it was a lot of dye that needed to happen – roots all over dark brown(enough processing time to cover grays) and then bleach and tone highlights from the bottom, with two washes and dries. The end result was AWESOME! I LOVED my hair and get compliments all the time on it! I just went back yesterday(6 weeks later) for a root touch up and trim and the highlights still look great. I’ve also had a manicure and a pedicure here, but honestly, it’s not the«spa» experience. They don’t have spa chairs or soak your feet, so there are probably many places you could go to get that type of experience and pay less. I did always like the end result though. Some quick things to know about Folawn’s: they are an Aveda spa and will make recommendations about products, but I have never felt pressure or shamed into buying anything. They are also a no-tip facility which is refreshing, although you do pay for their premium services – don’t expect a 25 dollar haircut. Lastly, they offer a free hand and arm massage, aroma therapy(Rosemary mint) and cucumbers or a lavender eye pillow during every hair cut while your conditioner soaks in. I almost fall asleep every time! I love Folawn’s for my hair services. I will definitely keep going back for maintenance, even if I move to another neighborhood.

I came on a referral from a coworker($ 20 off!) after a series of bad hair cuts after my usual stylist moved. Christina was amazing! I haven’t colored my hair in almost a decade, so I was very nervous. She listened to all my concerns and patiently went through my exhaustive Pinterest board with me. The result was exactly what I wanted, even better. I will definitely be returning!

This establishment doesn’t offer spa quality customer service. I have had multiple below average experiences with their 90 minute massage and just won’t ever go back. I would never suggest this place to family or friends.

Homer is the man! My hair looks fabulous every time he gets his hands on it. Clean, and beautiful salon, great staff, and Ken(the owner) makes it a point to come out of his office to say hi to everyone and makes you feel right at home!

I booked a day at Spa at Folawn’s for my 40th birthday. I just moved to San Antonio and wanted to treat myself. I wanted to feel spoiled and pampered on a not so great day(single, turning 40, new town etc.) I hoped to feel special and beautiful. After a massage, hair color/cut, makeup application and pedicure I felt neither glamorous nor beautiful. Everyone was nice but the services fell short of expectations, except the girl at the front desk who tried to check me out after my first service when I had 4 appointments scheduled which was irritating since I was spending the day there and paying a good amount for services. My massage was more Swedish than therapeutic. I won’t go back for another massage, at least not with the girl I saw. There were some good parts but it was like the massage therapist would get close to a knot then just stop and go another direction. I have shoulder length hair and do a one process brown every 5 – 6 weeks to cover my grey roots. The color was fine but I’m trying to grow my hair out and I’ve been incredibly frustrated by the cut/trim. My top layer is much shorter than its been in a long time and styling has been difficult since. Initially, I liked the style. I wanted big and sexy hair for a night out with my friends. The makeup artist was great but don’t go to this spa for glamour makeup. They only have matted everyday makeup that made my eyes water and irritated my skin for days after. I hated my makeup and had to use my own eyeliner and lip color because their makeup selection was minimal. I wanted JLo glam makeup and was told I should have brought my own makeup for that. This wasn’t told to me ahead of time when I scheduled the appointment. In all fairness, I didn’t ask but I assumed a day spa with so many services would have some makeup with shimmer and pizazz. I should’ve saved the $ 45 and done my own makeup. What a disappointment. By the time my makeup was done, my hair had no shape and the style had gone flat. I felt so ugly when I looked in the mirror. I wanted to cry. The makeup artist used a curling iron to try to fix it but I still wasn’t happy with the style, which was a bummer since I wanted amazing hair to go out that night and last for another day or two. My pedicure was great but it was $ 58. I can get great pedicures elsewhere for less. The other prices were fine for the services but I wasn’t happy with the results. I just wanted to feel amazing and spoiled on my 40th birthday. I didn’t.

My friend and I came here for a shellac mani and regular pedi. The spa is very nicely decorated and the staff was friendly, however, shellac manicures are supposed to be chip free for 2 weeks and this has held true for every one I’ve had with the exception of this one. The manicure lasted not even 4 days before I noticed the first chip in my polish, now 10 days later 4 of my fingers are severely chipped. My toe polish even started chipping after 6 days, which is unheard of for me. Despite the excellent service, I won’t be returning and I won’t be recommending this spa to anyone. I’m better off with the Asians down the street.

So the lady(can’t remember her name) was friendly and nice, the finish product looked good. I got the gel polish done Saturday by Tuesday night I had a chipped nail, not good since I was going on vacation Wednesday, I wasn’t happy. I got the basic pedicure and that last very long either. I had my nails cut all the way down and my two big toes were chipped in a week and my other toes got chipped too just not as highly noticeable. I’m not too satisfied, I still have yet to find a place in San Antonio after 2 years living here that I want to go back to because it lasts the length it’s suppose to. I posted the picture here as well the ones with white nails and orangish toes. I gave it 3 stars because of the customer service is so good, just not the work of services.
