The Koffee Kup has been leased to: Opa’s Edelweiss Café. Will be open very soon, selling excellent German and American Food. Come by and meet the new tenant and try one of many items of his menu.

I hate coming here, the food is so good that I always order too much and to top it off they have great prices. There’s a variety of pancake options(they are good at making them) so make sure to order some. NOWLOCATED A FEWDOORSDOWNANDCALLEDPANCAKEJOE’S

Read the reviews on Unilocal and it sounds great. This business does not exist a this location. The sign above says Koffee Kup, but the signs on the window indicate Bea’s sweet shop. Which is closed on Sunday.

5 stars! Don’t be fooled by the outside of the place. The food is wonderful and service is prompt and very friendly. Glad I decided to stop in and give it a shot.

Visited here prior to the relocation– which I’m happy about! When we went, there was a wait and the dining room is small. Glad to hear they’ve moved to a place with more room for more customers, and perhaps an updated interior, though part of the charm was the old-school feel of the place. Ordered the Greek omelet which blew me away. This is plated very attractively, too, and several customers stopped and asked what I’d ordered as they left, making comments about getting it on their next visit. This place gets customer service right– servers apepar to have been here a while and they recognize their regulars and remember their orders. Hopefully staff have gone with the restaurant move! I cannot remember what my boyfriend ordered, but he just recalls that he was happy with their food. If for whatever reason you arrive indecisive about what to pick, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the omelets– but GOGREEK if you want to start your day with a huge plate full of deliciousness, topped with a mini mountain of feta cheese. Mmmm, I want to go back now!

My parents decided to drive down from NE Ohio to visit me in Austin.(I’ve lived in Austin for 2.5 years, and they’ve yet to see it.) While they were here, we decided to drive down to San Antonio so that they could see The Alamo and The Riverwalk. We did The Alamo tour early in the morning, and once we were finished, we were starving. Smart girl that I am, I did some research that morning, before making the drive down to SA, and looked for some breakfast/brunch spots. My parents don’t eat any kind of ethnic foods,(they pretty much only eat American food), so I had to choose wisely. I saw that the Koffee Kup had great reviews, so I chose this place. We showed up around 1:30pm last Thursday, and there was 1 table left — it had 4 chairs, which is exactly what we needed for me, my husband, and my parents. The menu is large for such a small place. After a few minutes, we had made our decisions. I opted for the cinnamon apple pancakes with pecans. The food was made quickly, and it was kind of cool to be able to watch the cooks make it in the open kitchen. When our food came out, I was definitely impressed with the quantity that you get, considering the cheap price. And when I took my first bite of syrup-y apple-cinnamon pecan pancake goodness, I was in heaven. They were delicious! Fluffy pancakes, just right amount of cinnamon and apples, crunchy pecans, and it all came together wonderfully. My parents and husband enjoyed their pancakes, waffles, and scrambles, and we all left full, fat, and happy. This place is a gem — when it becomes Pancake Joe’s, I hope it keeps the same recipes, staff, and charm. I’ll be back whenever we’re down south again! :)

Koffee Kup has a retro feel in the«main street» style store front that looks like its in a small town; the kind I grew up in. If you aren’t paying attention you could pass right by it! We ordered steak & eggs and a Spanish style frittata & they were both excellent! The prices can’t be beat either. I’ll go back next time I am in San Antonio.

I don’t understand all the glowing reviews of this place. The food was the definition of mediocre. We got pancakes, eggs, pecan waffles, and bacon. The bacon was the best part, but everything else was entirely generic and reminiscent of a hotel breakfast. Even the pecan waffles, which we looked forward to based on some other reviews, were utterly boring. Service was quick and friendly, and the prices were good, but the food is not even worth the 10 minute drive for us.

Eating here now time of this entry Friend Azheal recommended the French toast, which did not disappoint. Pain perdu(french toast) is outstanding; from a real loaf as it should be. Coating is not overly«eggy». Coffee of good, smooth, non acidic quality @yolanda You are owner of building in which Koffee Kup rents; yes? Koffee Kup is moving couple doors down in same strip of shops. FYI to other readers; the restaurant is not changing hands, just moving a couple of doors down. Point is that the quality will not change. The move should give them more seating inside.

This place is very cute and cozy. The waitstaff is very nice and our waitress knew how to do a real diner pour for the coffee — fun to watch. The greek frittata is really good with the green sauce. And, the papas(potatos) cooked to pefection with some onion and green pepper mixed in. Not greasy at all. Will be heading back!

Seriously good food, excellent service and smiles are free! Enjoyed the most perfect frittata. Coffee was super delicious and the biscuits… well the biscuits were so good we HAD to order extra!!! Portions are huge so don’t be afraid to share. Although, I have learned through my travels that we(Texans) just don’t do «small» in Texas! ;) I was only in town for the week and I was looking for something new but original. My BFF Moni suggested this place and I’m so glad she did. We luckily arrived before any crowds surfaced on a Weds. morning but the place was already packed! I suggest arriving early at least before 11 A.M. to grab a table. It’s always nice to find gems like the KK in San Antonio. I grew up around here, being a St. Paul Royal, back in my hay day; so it was very heart warming to see this place give life to the small shopping plaza that still remains quaint. I love that it’s cozy and as you’re leaving you’ll find a pleasant wave from the hardworking, talented, bodies in the kitchen. The food is delicious, it’s thoughtful even. And you won’t be disappointed in the selection of menu items for breakfast to lunch. I was such a fan, that I ordered lunch to go after I enjoyed the first few bites of breakfast. You cannot beat the prices and the quality and quantity of their dishes. Ultimately Koffee Kup hit this one out of the park! I suggest you take a little drive down to Donaldson and skip IHOP or Cracker Barrel. You won’t regret it! ;)

Mmmm me likes Koffee Kup! Why? Friendly service, really good waffles, apple juice. Matter of fact, that waffle you see in the pic w/the berry compote on top of it, that’s what I ordered and I’m glad I did. KK is tiny on the inside in the middle of a nice neighborhood that’s a stone’s throw away from Jefferson High School and Woodlawn Lake. I’d definitely like to return if only I can ever seem to wake up early before the crowd arrives, which is what I did the first time. I got here at about 9 – 9:30am. I felt bad for the people who had to wait outside in the stifling heat. Maybe sometime in the near future the owner can move the restaurant to a bigger location nearby where there’s more room.

This place was worth the wait. We got there at about 11:30 Sunday morning and waited about 40 minutes for a table inside as it was too hot outside and we didn’t want to get bombarded with flies. I got the Jalisco Omelette and it was enormous and very tasty. Some of the meat was a little tough but it was still very good. The tomatillo salsa is one of the best salsas I’ve ever tasted. I even asked for some to go and the waitress game me a little bit. My wife had the pancakes and eggs and really enjoyed them. The menu says«2 eggs» but it must have been at least 3 – she got a lot of eggs. We definitely got a lot of food for the money. I will say this, though – don’t rely on just the water, as it doesn’t taste good. The orange juice was really good.

This unassuming little spot is a true neighborhood gem! Quite possibly, the best pecan waffle I’ve ever eaten! The coffee & freshly squeezed OJ weren’t bad, either!!! The service was awesome, too. It’s small, so plan on waiting for an inside table, or grab one of the open patio tables, like I did.

10:15 on a Sunday I was second on the waiting list. There is an outside area in the back to sit that’s an option, and I was seated out there in under 5min. However after I received my food I never saw my server again, not a big deal but possibly a drawback of sitting outside. Food came fast and was a bargain for the price. Not the fanciest or most original options but that’s clearly not the objective here. The menu looked great and I’d certainly come back to try more of it. Solid, simple brunch bargain. Totally recommended.

I couldn’t agree more with the other reviewers. I now have a new hideaway for my mornings. Very unassuming since it’s hidden among other unknown businesses. I ordered coffee and the steak and eggs plate — eggs over medium, wheat toast, steak: medium rare. I figured the steak wouldn’t come out as medium rare as I prefer(especially since most breakfast places usually use ‘breakfast steak’ or a thin cut of meat for a morning meal). Now this was along the lines of a sirloin cut and even though they still cooked it medium, I was fine with it since the flavor was still good and the steak was still juicy. The food came with two sauces — a type of salsa rojo and a verde. Both were excellent but man, the red sauce made everything stand out the best. It was piquant and gave the food that tiny bit of zing that I like every now and again. But even if you don’t want to try either of the additional sauces, the food itself was scrumptious! It was definitely a healthy serving as well — which is another thing I prefer since it’s the first meal of the day and I like to work my meals off as the day moves along. But that’s just me. The place is tiny but I don’t care. It’s also a tiny bit hole-in-the-wallish but again, it doesn’t phase me. The prices are unbelievable and definitely good for any person who may be on a budget. I will definitely come back!!!

Great service, food, and prices! I’m one of those people who can never decide between sweet and savory for breakfast. And… you don’t have to choose here, because they have some great waffle/egg combos, and things are pretty affordable, so you may even be able to order two entrees. Yeah. I totally did that this weekend. Super friendly waitresses here. The portions were generous without being disgustingly huge, like some other cheap breakfasts out there. The Koffee Kup is definitely a hole in the wall. You may have to wait for a table, and you may be seated really close to the counter. But your coffee will be hot, and your food will go straight from the griddle to your table. Best and cheapest diner-style breakfast I have had in a while.

Help support family owned business: Read an article in the Taste section of Express News on the Koffee Kup Pancake House. The place is a very small but quaint place off of Donaldson. The owner boasts all food is fresh which is evident when tasting. The service was great(waited on by owner’s daughters), ambiance nice and the food was all so yummy! If you like french toast, try the banana berry plate. Update: The above review was from my initial visit when the Koffee Kup first opened. My gf and I have since visited 3 more times and have yet to find anything negative about this place. I love the pancakes(fluffy and crispy all at once) and the ranch potatoes are GREAT! Be prepared to wait for a table on Sunday mornings, but I promise it is well worth the wait.

Five stars for KC! I read reviews here and saw article in TASTE. It’s a small place but very cozy and they make you feel right at home. Coffee is our first request, it’s soo good! Waffles are simple, delicious. Pancakes are good as well. The basic egg, bacon, toast and potatoes follow. We love it all. Service is awesome and the girls are always so helpful and happy to do it. We love this place and highly recommend. Waiting sometimes is a must as place is small but so worth it. PS. Its been a while I wrote this review and I want to add that service and food still excellent as it was the first day. Thank you so much! =)
