I have been eating Rolandos for a few years and always want to the south side, but since this was closer I thought sure why not visit this one. So I did. Extremely small parking. You walk in and you see a friendly cashier. I ordered my food to go since there was no parking. And then I saw a big view of the kitchen and we’ll they had pans and pots and spoons on the counter and I hope they weren’t cooking with those things that was left out and a bucket almost see through with something in it… I’ll just stick to the south side rolandos it seems more safer.

They still have their very large Tortillas, good servings. They are busy, but it is worth the wait. The Helpings is lot, and you get full, but it is soo Good

Wow! Been a while since my last visit but this place has gone way down hill but prices have gone way up. It’s Mexican food it should be priced that way! The word super does not mean what it used to. Ordered the Mexican plate and it should have had 2 super enchiladas but they were no more than 2 slightly larger enchiladas. My daughter had a super bean and cheese taco and the only thing super about it is the beans were super dry, found a large clump of dried out beans. Waited for 22 minutes before our order was taken and only because I flagged the server down. As a Latino I can no longer recommend nor eat at this place ever again.:(

I’ve been here before and have had good reviews but today was not one of those days. Drove 20 minutes to get here and it was not worth the trip. Ordered the ranchero plate and ended up with more water than ranchero sauce on my plate. The plate itself was only luke warm, only a few potato chips for the potato side which was sitting in the water run off and soggy and the tortilla was cold. The salsa served with the chips was also very very watered down. For a plate that costs 9.25 I expected a whole lot more. Very disappointed, seems to be sliding downhill.

Horrible service from the waitress she was rude, they charge extra to put the guacamole on the side when it’s included on the plate, but the girl at the cashier was really nice

We enjoyed the breakfast tacos. The normal sized ones were actually very large so I can’t imagine how large the super tacos actually were. The smaller tacos were about $ 3-$ 4 each, but one taco was all I needed. The salsa was a little too hot for myself but my husband enjoyed it.

My first time at Rolando’s and first thing I want to say is WARNINGTOALLCUSTOMERS PARKINGISTERRIBLE!!! Such a small parking lot. They do NOT have any cameras so if your car gets dinged or brake light cracked like our 2015 vehicle did, no one is responsible but at least you got to try a mediocre super sized taco for 7 dollars!

Loved this place as much as I did the first time I went here. It was busier this time around, we went at lunch time but the service & food were just as solid. I put my big girl pants on & went for the super sized version of the Tex Mex combination taco. I needed to get half of it to go & finished that bad boy later! Yes, they make their own tortillas! Tex Mex taco is beans, eggs, potatoes, cheese, avocado slices but I opted out of the sausage. So damn fantastic, it’s definitely a fork & knife kind of dish! It does close at 2:00pm during the week &3:00pm on weekends so make sure you get there before then to try their delicious food!

Today we went and it was just my husband and I. First off we waited about 10 min to get our drink order in but that wasn’t too bad. As we waited to place our order another group arrived after we had been waiting almost 15 minutes. Then another group arrives 5 minutes after that. The waitress took all of our orders at the same time although by now we had been waiting 20 minutes by now. After another 35 minutes one group next to us gets their food, 5 minutes later the next group gets their. After waiting a total of an hour we decided to leave. We were not about to pay close to $ 10 a taco after waiting an hour for our food. First and last time at this place.

This was my first time visiting. The service and food were great. Left full without a big hit on the pocketbook. The only small downside would be that the chips and salsa they bring out complimentary prior to ordering. Guess they warm up the salsa and it wasn’t very tasty hot. Would much rather they served it cold. And when I visit again, I’ll be sure to request they not microwave it. Other than that, the overall visit was good! I’ll go back

My wife and I had some major diarrhea after eating here. Before anyone goes blaming it on mexican food, my wife and I are well accustomed to mexican food and eat it frequently. Unfortunately for me, I got food poisoning from this place. I had the poops, episodes of vommitting, and nausea. Food wasn’t even great. Who cares about their large tacos if the taste doesn’t even live up to the hype. Tortilla was quite hard as well. If you want to go try out novelty restaurants with record breaking portion sizes, go to big lou and lulu’s bakery instead. The food actually taste good.

Stopped this morning and had a couple of small tacos. The carne guisada had a homemade taste complemented with cheese. Tortillas were soft and good. Sweet tea was awesome!

This place looks good the food was tasty the staff was very attentive although I think their first language is Spanish not English but that doesn’t matter they were very nice. I will have to say that today in San Antonio the temperature is 100 degrees and although they did have 2 A/C units they were there for only decorations because it was unbearably hot… I left and went to sit in the car while the bill was being paid.

Always Delicioso. Always Friendly. Great regular spot. I can get in and out of there on my lunch hour. The lunch specials are a great value for the deliciousness offered. The Super tacos are ENORMOUS. I am not a little guy, and one does the trick for me. THENANDO, is my fave: Carne Guisada, bacon, beans and cheese.

I had heard this was a good place to get tacos. We came here today for the first time today. It took forever to get noticed we were sitting at the table waiting for a food server. Someone brought chips and«hot sauce». It wasn’t hot to the taste, but was hot from being on the stove, we really didn’t like it. My bf had the super chorizo and egg taco. He wanted barbacoa, but they were out. He liked it, but it fell apart. I had two of the small tacos. They were pictured on the menu and the waitress said they were the most popular. One had chicken fajita(white meat) with cheese, beans and sliced avacado. That one was really good! The other was carne guisada with cheese, bacon and beans. I didn’t like the carne guisada because with the small amount of meat was to much fat and all gravy. Plus it had way to much cumin. It’s a hole in the wall, but decent. IF we go back, we will try something else. Oh and it’s a tad pricey too! $ 20 for 3 tacos and 2 teas.

I have a full day of work ahead of me. I needed something which would be enough to satisfy my hunger today until dinner. It’s been decades since I’ve been to one of the Rolando’s restaurants and I wanted something different to eat. I wouldn’t go to the Grand Canyon to look at the shrubbery. I would go to experience what it’s known for. That’s why I ordered the Big Nando(all in for $ 6.77). I asked the cashier(Bryan) for what people order most often from the super taco menu. He recommended two and from that list I chose the Nando. So, how was it? I loved it. A great tasting humongous flour tortilla fully loaded with all sorts of wonderful goodness. It took me a half hour of non stop eating but I finished off my to go order at my office desk. There were people waiting in chairs for their take out orders when I arrived and the parking lot was getting fuller by the moment of people looking to get their grub on. This place is an institution and the real deal. San Antonio has great mexican food and Rolando’s represents our city well with tasty food at an affordable price. After I lose a few pounds, I’ll be back.

These tacos are huge as I am sure you have read elsewhere, but even better than that they are huge and tasty. You can also have average sized tacos if you wish. The menu offers many options, and the salsas that come out to the table are authentic and spicy. Just what we wanted!!! This place is a little dive on the side of the road, not in the most attractive area of town, and not the most attractive building to look at… but the inside was clean and welcoming albeit not fancy at all. Stop in and try a yummy breakfast taco… you wont regret it!
