This is a place I like to call home. All of the bartenders are fantastic and remember you after one meeting. Great atmosphere and all of the people that frequent Irish pub invite you in to become part of the family

My most Favorite whole in the wall Bar ever! This is a bar you should try!

Irish Pub is one of my favorite bars of all time, and you can trust me when I say this because I’ve been to bars all over the world. It’s what I do.
The best part of this establishment is a bartender by the name of Amy. She is hilarious! She does the best Marge Simpson impression I have ever heard. She juggles during her down time and does magic tricks out of the blue. One time she made my drink disappear by chugging it! She loves it when you bring her fresh biscuits to eat! I never understood this until she told me that she grew up in a biscuit factory. Then it all made sense.
Please go here! They have live music every night at 8pm and if you buy a drink you get a free bucket of fried hot dogs.

I would like to thank Hannah for showing me a better time. I had a great night! It was definitely a MUCH better experience and I WOULD recommend this place to anyone. They were very friendly and attentive. She didn’t know who I was till the end so I know the great experience wasn’t on purpose lol She explained to me that like any other business they go thru staff and I completely understand that. They DO pride themselves on having a great, friendly staff. Thanks again and see ya’ll soon!

Had very bad experience there with the guy bartender for Saturday nights. He was very unprofessional and has bad interpersonal skills. Being a bartender is job and customer service should still be number one. That is how you get regular customers. We asked to have a drink remade and he said, with attitude, it wasn’t a restaurant. I know it’s not a restaurant but you don’t have to give attitude and be rude about it. He started treating my friends and I bad after that and started saying it was cause we didn’t tip him, which we did. Never coming back, save your time and money.

DO NOT COME HERE!!! Horrible staff, rude, and unprofessional… More so the two blonde girls… Both are in the pics… Have been thrown out twice upon arrival… Each time by both blondes with short hair… I firmly feel they want nothing but males there… They are threatened by females … Or a certain type of female… Which is idiotic when they work in a bar not a strip club… I’ll start off n say, I have had one too many at times there… Yet all was good, and went back with no issue… So one time I went with one of my friends… We were waiting at the bar for quite some time… The blonde girl, was taking other orders from people that just walked up… Even though she saw us waiting… She finally got our order… You could tell she was extremely intoxicated… She takes a moment n then blurts out that I need to leave… My friend n I had already been there for over 10 minutes… I ask for a reason n she DID NOT HAVE ONE… Then a big male behind the bar tries to escort us out as if we were a threat to others… Stupidly, I did keep going back… I love the location, and the ambiance… Obviously staff, plays a huge role in deciding if you will return to a business or not… N again the staff here is down right atrocious… So after having gone there after the first incident, just hitting a few minor bumps… Ugly stares by both blonde female bartenders, or ignored for long periods of time… I went on my birthday with another friend… Just wanted a chill night n a few drinks… Again by the other blonde, I was thrown out upon arrival without even the opportunity to drink… My friend n I waited at the bar… There was a male there, but he didn’t even pay attention to us… I see the blonde come out the male bathroom with a male… I asked for our drinks, she immediately n with an attitude says I need to leave… I asked why n fill her in that it’s my birthday… She says that another time that I was there, I was too intoxicated… Keep in mind I have been there time n time with no pre warning of, I can’t go back there because of bad behavior… I reiterate it’s my birthday… She coldly did not care… I could tell other bar patrons were in awe of what they were witnessing… N how callous she was being… Which normal bar practice is, you get kicked at moment of being too inebriated… At that point get told if you are welcomed there again or not… Most bars just kick you out for the night, yet let you know what the deal is… Not here!!! THEY MAKE THEIR OWN RULES… WHAT THEY WANT N WHEN THEY WANT… YET THEY BREAK THEIR OWN RULES ON THE CONSTANT… Hypocritical n Insecure bartenders… Seems to me, they need to find a new career… If they feel it’s ok for them to get drunk on the job! Yet claim a patron is too drunk, n they are the ones serving you n letting it get to that point instead of preventing that… N then use it against you… I am to blame as well for continuously going back… I really wanted to love this bar … Yet this has taught me to NOT be loyal to any business unless the customer service is at a higher level! Seems like I’m not the only one that has had issues with the staff! The owner needs to make some changes, and train the staff to simply treat customers like human beings. N get rid of the ones that are repeatedly running customers away!!!

Do NOT be fooled by the name! There is nothing Irish about this place. Just a local watering hole that’s worn down. Cheap drinks, young crowd. Free well drink if you check in but I didn’t bother.

The prices are good, the crowd is never too crazy unless its st patricks day, and its a cool place to watch sports or listen to music. This is a place that locals go so there are a few regulars here. The crowd is diverse but you will mostly see people in their mid 20’s to mid 30’s. Every now and then a food truck will be in the parking lot. They have a nice patio in the front and they have speakers outside to hear music and a tv for outside as well. It can be busy sometimes so it can take a while to get a drink, but when the bar tender comes around they will get you taken care of quick. Been coming here since 2007.

I rarely write reviews but this place sucked so much i decided to write one. I waited TOO long for a drink and there were seriously like 6 ppl at the bar. The bartender (blonde chick) was a fuckin sloth. It was ridiculous! And she would pause between makin your drink to take a sip off hers. Horrible place.

Had to sit at the bar to get service… the bar the was empty. If you happen to have car trouble, would be the place to walk into and have a drink while waiting for a tow truck. Otherwise, pass.

I was expecting a freakin cute Irish leprachaun to greet me as I opened the wooden door into the bar, but I was not. Instead, happily, I found a bar really close to my sister’s apartment with cheap Blue Moon bottles of beer for $ 1.50. I made sure not to check the expiration date for I was afraid I would find out they were expired thus the cheap price. Regardless, the beer was tasty.
The patio is quaint and a nice place to convene if you don’t want to listen to Godsmack and Deftone music from the small iJukebox they have inside blaring at you from all sides of the bar. Also, even though San Antonio passed a no-​smoking ordinance in public restaurant/​bar places you can STILL smell the smoke that use to occupy this bar if you stay in long enough. This is why outside on the patio is the best idea to be. Don’t worry — you can still hear the horrible music outside thanks to the small computer speakers set up on the patio.
Bartender was nice and thankfully she remembered my name which can be a pet peeve for me when I continually go up to the bar to order my beer (I don;‘t want to have to report my last name over and over again especially when some dude next to me wants to holler at me and I am trying my best to avoid him).
It was a bit slow on the Tuesday night I was there so it is hard to judge how service would be when it is moving.
What is odd, I find, about San Antonio bars is that there is ALWAYS someone coming up to me with a styrofoam cooler in one hand wearing a fanny pack who wants to sell me tamales or tacos. WHY? WHYYYYYY do bar owners allow this?! And it just doesn’t happen once or twice throughout the night, it happened 4 times when I was at this pub for ONE night! Listen, if I want tacos or tamales, I will go next door to the small and cheap taqueria next door that is open all hours of the night. I DO NOT want to be approached while I am drinking and having conversations with my friends. I am coming from out of town for bars sake! I do not want to be approached by anyone with a cooler or a fanny pack! I will stay in AUSTIN if I wanted that.

A group of us go to this dive bar every Wednesday night to chat and kick up our feet. The atmosphere is pretty chill and the drink prices are great (on Wednesday). The two bartenders, Hanna and Trey take care of us every week and have even memorized our drinks (that’s good and bad I guess). It usually gets lively after 11pm and on 1 occasion, it was so crowded we had to wait 15minutes to get a drink. But most of the time, it’s very relaxed (unless someone puts terrible music in the jukebox).

Because I’m a full-​fledged believer that when a day such as St. Patrick’s Day is near you should take a whole week to celebrate it.
So my first «Irish bar» this week is The Irish Pub. This quaint little pub is full of sheep herders and old men… I’m just kidding. On a Sunday night it was full of an array of people. Young, older, and the blue collar guys who just want a beer. It has a digital jukebox and apparently someone loves rap music. One pool table, so if you wanna play be prepared to win the table. One dart machine and a decent amount of seating.
The bartender took a bit to recognize me, probably because I’m short. Once he did, he apologized for the wait. They have shot specials and drink specials. Now, I’m glad that you’re an Irish pub… I’m sad that the only «Irish» is Guinness. They had two tap stations and only Guinness… curse you Silver Eagle and MillerCoors for dominating the keg scene. I know they make a mean Irish car bomb that would make the IRA proud.

It’s a great place to head with your own crew. Drink prices are great and the place is clean and not really dive-​y. Wasn’t very busy for a Friday night so there was plenty of seats open.

This is probably my favorite bar in San Antonio! Pretty nice bartenders, and a very laid-​back environment for the most part. They have some good drink specials, drinks are OK-​priced (not very cheap but not too pricy). And now that there’s no smoke it’s pretty great!
Very limited dart boards though!

Whenever an Irish holiday is on the horizon this place is always on the radar. Don’t let the location scare you, yes it’s a dive bar but has remained surprisingly un-​ghetto over the years. This is the only place I have been able to find an Irish car bomb made properly, and they also carry plenty of draft and import beers that I like. Even Young’s Chocolate Stout. The chairs aren’t the most comfortable, but the drink specials make up for it. They even now have a small outdoor patio, which makes for a really good place to stop in and have a pint.

I normally like this place but tonight sucked so bad I felt compelled to write a bad review. Avoid this place on Tuesdays. My bartender was possibly the worst I have ever had the misfortune of being served by. She forgot my drink order twice. How hard is Jack and Coke? She either needs to reconsider her career choice or quit drinking on the job. Either way, there is no excuse for such poor service.
From now on if I walk in and the bartender I like isn’t there, I’m going somewhere else.

Fantastic dive bar!!! Love this place. Been coming here for years. Get to know the bar staff! We come here often and the owners are great!!!
