Mc Finnigan’s Pub

This place must have had all their friends leave a 5 star review. It smells like the inside of a urinal. Ordered a beer and it tasted like butter. I switched it and got another which also tasted like butter. A quick google and I found out it’s from a dirty tap and yeast in the lines. Disgusting.

I found it to be a bar more than an Irish Pub. A plus is they hay daily drink specials. I had the fish and chips, frozen fish all the some shape not my idea of an Irish pub style fish, the homemade fry’s were ok. It’s more of a local bar with lots of TV’s and loud music than an Irish Pub. I would come back for a couple of cold ones but not so much for the food. Just my opinion! Hope it helps

Music is way too loud in patio and the security/​door guy is such a weirdo. The beer draft is perfectly cold though.

Terrible pour! I felt like I got robbed. It’s supposed to be a home bar, not a franchise… I would not recommend drinking here. Girls are pretty though… But is it worth the spend? I think not!

Best neighborhood Irish bar in town! Newly opened kitchen has some pretty decent options, better than the usual standard bar food choices.

First off, this bar is as Irish as the Boston Celtics roster. And it’s not a «pub,» it’s a sports bar with one large cavernous-​feeling room that has always been 90% empty every time I’ve been there. Probably not a bad spot to catch a game, and it’s wasn’t a bad bar, per se, I just never felt really relaxed or at ease there unless I’m carting around a group looking to watch a game and play some darts. Not the best spot for a casual night with a friend or a date though. Also, I don’t smoke but a few of my friends do, and their outside patio is caged in and feels like a cramped prison yard. Weird.

Great bar! Good selection of import beers on tap. Good liquors. A DJ occasionally plays. Good jukebox as well! A tamale guy comes around occasionally. I like the staff and the folks who come here. Plenty of parking.

I really enjoyed this pub. It wasn’t exactly Irish when I came in and they were blaring country music… but it is Texas lol. They didn’t have any servers when we went in… which is kind of weird but I guess is their way of saving money at the cost of customer service. The fried jalapeños were really good though. I also got a quesadilla… which was fantastic by the way.
Big thing that makes me not want to come back was they were doing some stuff in the ceiling tiles right next to us as we were eating and all the dust came flying out. Luckily we were done eating but the manager didn’t say anything to anyone about it before they started doing it. He did ask people to move after a few minutes but come on…

I am in town on business and am staying at a nearby hotel. I found this place searching for a place to play Golden Tee 2015. Upon entering, the bartender, Taylor, immediately greeted me and then continued to treat me like I’ve been coming here for years. This is a great neighborhood bar and I will return.

I’ve purposely stayed away from this place and hadn’t been there for a few months. My wife and I had a bad experience with a bartender that caused us to stay away. So when a friend suggested we go by I was a bit leery. But I told myself maybe this person was having a bad day and if not how long would a business owner keep someone around that was rude to customers.
So we went and as soon as I walked to the bar this same bar tender walked up took my order in the rudest way possible. Ordering a round of 6 beers shouldn’t ruin her day. Her tone and attitude was as if I was bothering her. And when made a comment and I asked her to repeat herself she walked away. Not sure what her problem is, it’s not my fault she is overweight, short, and I didn’t make her dye her hair that bad shade of red. I’m sorry I am Mexican American, have a beautiful wife and a little money to buy my friends beer. And if she is so unhappy maybe she shouldn’t be in the service industry. Several members of my group noticed her bad behavior.
Other than this awful person the bar is nice and the crowd is chill and without any knuckleheads. Beer prices are cheap with a nice selection and they allow food from the restaurants next door. They had a really good two man cover band that will get you singing along.
But I won’t be back. I work hard for my money so I will take it somewhere that wants my business and has bartenders that want to work and that are not rude.

McFinnigans is a pretty cool place. Sometimes they show UFC fights on PPV, they have great beers on tap, and the bartenders or pretty nice. You can order food from next store at a place called ray’s pizzeria (formally goomba’s). McFinnigans could be better but its not that bad.

My husband and I came here for the first time around 5pm on a Tuesday randomly because we were in the area. We read the great reviews and decided to give it a shot. Tale as old as time. do not judge a book by it’s cover. The outside is a little skeevy but on the inside… it’s the bar you’ve been looking for your entire life. Brick and appropriately dark green interior with wooden tables and chairs. The bar is epically functional because it is a unique and wonderful masterpiece. We had bartender, Taylor. She was a sweetheart who qualified as the perfect bartender. It’s an amazing hole in the wall bar that makes us wish we lived closer so we could make it «our bar». The music was great. Just do it! Go to this bar. If you don’t like it that probably just means you have really bad taste in bars.

We stopped by for happy hour and the prices were great. Everyday of the week they have specials. The atmosphere is casual and the bartender was very friendly and knowledgable. There were large TV’s through out the bar which made it easy to watch Sports Center. We will be back!

We wanted to check out this bar, as the Blanco Tavern was an old hang out. The remodel was excellent and the staff very friendly. Great place to visit!

When I first stepped into McFinnigans, I knew this was a place I would enjoy. The bartenders know their stuff. Thursday HH is great, even when I extend my stay. Weekends are excellent. The drink specials are on par or better than other area bars and there are a wide selection of liquors to choose from. They offer free UFC events, food during major sporting events, and there are plenty of televisions to watch your favorite event. Stop by. You won’t be disappointed.

Fun little place! Taylor and Ross take care of patrons well, and on a Friday the bar was full of cute airmen from Lackland.

My boyfriend and I are avid football fans and went up during football season. They have the ticket and open early for the noon games. Most weeks the owner cooks free food for everyone. I really like how the bar is set up and it’s way cleaner then when it was Blanco Tavern. Other then Sundays we’ve been a few times and have gotten to know some of the regulars. It’s a fun place to chill out enjoy some beers. Oh and their Guinness is cheap as shit too!

I love this bar! Some of the best staff in town! Lots of TVs, pool, darts and a great patio. Whether you are looking for a chill happy hour spot or a fun new nighttime hangout, Mcfinnigans is the place. Its always fun and laid back and they have great specials. There are 2 great restaurants next door (a Thai place and a pizza place) for your happy hour snacks or dinner. If you’re lucky you may even stop by when the owner is cooking up something delicious! Good bar with an awesome staff. how can you go wrong?!?

So if you’re a seasoned drinker such as myself, you probably refer to Cowboys-​Far West and 502 Bar-​Wiseguys. Let’s bring our attention to Blanco Tavern… I mean McFinnigan’s Pub. That’s right folks there’s a new kid in town. Well I don’t know how long they’ve been open but the bar still smells fresh & the bathrooms hasn’t succumbed to phone numbers & who loves who.
They did I very nice remodel, it’s opened up plenty of bar seating. OH and even better there’s light in the bar. Fooseball, pool, & air hockey for your enjoyment. I went on a sunday during happy hour, a nice arrangement of tvs. If it’s slow then the bartender will plug in their ipod and you can jam out to some tunes without dropping your lifesavings in that god-​forsaken internet jukebox.
As far drink prices, they were pretty reasonable $ 7 dom. pitchers and other specials. I’m not sure if just Sunday or daily specials. The bartender was great, she had some friends chillin and drinking and yet still took care my entourage. Which is a plus, nothing can be more irritating when you get passed up on service cuz they have regulars. So thumbs up on the staff.
Outside patio for you nicotine addicts, nothing special just a quaint pation with some tables & chairs.
I’m usually leery about new bars that open up in past notable establishment. McFinnigan’s you have earned two thumbs up in my book. So if you looking for a new bar to check out then stop on by and have a scotch or an Irish car bomb. Oh and no food, but I saw a couple of bar patrons get pizza delivered from a local joint. So I’m guessing they might have a partnership with the pizza place and you can order at the bar.
