I was hungry, the hotel was nearby, why not? This place was decent enough, and fulfilled all my cheap tex-mex cravings. I somehow managed to eat an obscene amount of enchiladas, and then steal some of my companion’s intriguing gravy-like sauce(what on earth is that? I love it) to fill up any remaining negative space in my belly.

Picked up food today, before work, and it was straight up horrible. First they messed up my order, and shorted me a taco. Second when I opened the foil to eat my taco. The tortilla was not fully cooked. N the food in the taco was cold… Will never return to this place again… ” I don’t recommended this place at all !!! ”

If San Antonio needs any reminder that there are way too many run of the mill Mexican restaurants with the word«Taqueria» combined with any state or city in Mexico the name then this is it. The server who waited on me refused to speak English and gave me an attitude when I reminded her I needed a straw for my margarita which was just downright awful in addition to the weak enchiladas verdes that didn’t have much green sauce. They just looked like rolled chicken tacos with white cheese on top. As for the margarita, it tasted like cheap lemon lime Kool Aid and cheap tequila mixed together. The flour tortillas are huge but are also bland and too thin. I had a carne guisada taco that broke because of the weak tortilla. The carne guisada wasn’t all that bad but that alone won’t lure me back here.

Not great but not bad either… Atmosphere was ok, not super fancy but not a dive either. My Carne Gisada was kinda blah but my co-workers was really good.

I love an «A-OK» rating. I’m a fan because it serves comfortable, egalitarian food with more than competent service. The chorizo varies, from excellent to WTF?. The asada is also hit and miss; mostly hit, but a miss is a mess… a soggy and insipid pile of livered beef. Their salsa roja is spot on with nice chunks of roasted vegetables. But, I am not a fan of their salsa verde. They need to invest in a chinois. I do not recommend the carne guisada. dry, flavorless and shoe-leather chewy. I do recommend the weekly enchiladas suizas + tea + tip = $ 6.
