The food was ok not great, the service was rude like they had been there all day n just wanted to go home. i would go back only when it first opens so hopefully they’ll be happier and more pleasant mood. the side items are very good no fries tho but who cares the beans, hash browns, mash potatoes were very good. tasted homemade so that’s a plus.

I work nearby and eat at Snoga’s once a week at least. Beef and sausage plate with country sausage… mmmmmm! Best home cooking in SA. Their ¼ chicken is a favorite too. Perfect smoke ring and very moist.

My husband and I love this place. They actually catered our wedding 7 and a half years ago and their food is still the same as we remember it. It’s a small whole in the wall, cafeteria style place. The décor hasn’t changed at all either, so it looks pretty old, but that’s the character of this place. You grab your utensils, tray, and make your way down and tell them what you like. My husband and I both got the sausage and brisket with rice, beans, and potato salad. Both the sausage and brisket were very juicy and loaded with great bbq flavor… just like on our wedding day. Parking is a bit tight on a busy day, but this is a place worth stopping for! Don’t forget the desserts either. :)

Had the beef brisket and sausage. We had the food at a professional development for my job. It was amazing. We enjoyed the tender brisket and the sausage. I will eat there again many many more times.

Had my father’s 100th birthday catered. The food was excellent, servers were the best, doesn’t get any better. Received many compliments on the food. Some of the best brisket I’ve ever had.

The food was Excellent, the dessert was super! Only setback, they only take cash though, but there is an ATM available here. Other than that i will come back and try the ribs, had the Brisket & Sausage plate. MMM Good.

First experience ever with this BBQ. Our family choose this place to cater my grandmother’s food for the gathering after the funeral. I was very impressed. Delicious brisket(I’m a tough person to please when it comes to brisket), awesome sausage, sauce, beans, and potato salad. We couldn’t have asked for any better! Now I know where to go!

Love the food! They never disappoint when it comes to a meal. Even used them to cater my wedding. Yes! They are that good!

A cold front blew in S.A. and I had a craving for BBQ so I braved the weather and walked here from work. Even though I used to live on the SE side a long time ago I never had a clue Snoga’s existed. But after reading reviews about it in the Current I was curious to see what the hype was about. I stepped in the place and was greeted by a cafeteria worker with an indifferent attitude akin to Lunchlady Doris on The Simpsons so she was anything but polite and cheerful. I ordered a three meat combo, brisket, sausage and chicken and had my choice of 3 sides, green beans, corn and mashed potatoes. When asked if I wanted BBQ sauce, little did I notice that she practically drowned my meat in it. And I was disappointed that only white gravy was available for the mashed potatoes. I wasn’t pleased with the mashed potatoes or any of the meat. The green beans and corn were okay, nothing like the creamed corn at Rudy’s. As for the BBQ, Snoga’s is barely a step above Bill Miller’s and a step below Grady’s. Even the so called«worst BBQ in Texas», Rudy’s, is better. The only thing that save Snoga’s is the cleanliness of the restaurant. They also keep copies of the Wilson County Times and an old map of San Antonio from back in the day so you can see what San Antonio looked like before Google Maps, MapQuest and all the development that took place outside Loop 410 for those who need a good nostalgia fix.

I used to eat here often(~monthly) when I worked nearby, but it’s out of the way now. Today, me and a couple of friends made the trek south so they could have the daily special, sausage and sauerkraut. I stuck with the brisket & sausage plate. Décor: 2**, it’s clean, but they’ve hardly changed a thing since it opened in ’72. Service: 3***, it’s cafeteria style, they’re always polite and cheerful. Food/Quality: 3***, I had a brisket/sausage plate, comes with 3 sides & slice of bread. First, the brisket; it looks good, has a nice smoke ring, bark is minimal, and they slice with a slicer, 1/16″. It was moist to at the beginning but it quickly air dried. Maybe that’s why they cover it with sauce(I got it on the side). This is a 3***. If you want to drive 5 miles farther, you can find better Q. Next, the country sausage, it’s a 4****. The sauce, a thick tomato based sauce, sweet and tangy and smokey, it’s good too, 4****. The sides, simple, plenty to choose from, nothing special, 2**. Value: 4****, It’s a full meal all for just $ 7.25, I’m still stuffed 4 hours later. Overall, the brisket is okay but I wouldn’t come for it. If you’re in the area, get a country sausage poboy with sauce and a side of pinto beans. follow My Year of Que at

If your looking for quality home-style food then this is your place ! And at a reasonable price too. I would have to say that this is defiantly one of my top 10 favorite restaurants. Snoga’s has that great quiet but not too quiet old-fashioned country atmosphere that just makes you feel like your so welcomed and has the comfortable at-home feeling. If you haven’t been here then you should just stop by and check it out!

This is place that reminds me what you find in a small town. The food is homemade and real good. They have special for everyday. I had the meatloaf with three sides. It was awsome. I would recommend this place if they want some homemade food. This isn’t your bill miller or Rudy’s.

Walking in here is liking walking into a time machine. It takes you back to somewhere between 1955&1975. The place reminds me of the small town café’s and barbeque joints of my youth. The inside is paneled pegboard siding and decorated not with tools but with taxidermy fish and animals. The Highland Hill Lions club even meets here in the«private» dining room. The food is served cafeteria style by some of the friendliest ladies. You get a meat and three sides. I had the ham with green beans, cole slaw, & hot potatoes. The food I guess could be described as farm food, hearty yet lacking in flavor. That is not to say it was bad it was actually good and filling but needed spicing up. This is the type of place to fill up on the cheap, don’t expect gourmet just plain old fashioned mid western farm food.

This is a quiet, homestyle cooking old-fashioned little restaurant but man is it good!!! For the most part this restaurant is for those days where you need a good homecooked meal and want to relax and enjoy your food in peace and with family. The prices are just right, if you order the plate you get 2 meats I think and 3 sides-that is good value right there. The dessert is good, just homemade goodness in one little place. This place would be outcome if Bill miller’s, Luby’s and grandma’s kitchen came together! haha I believe the place is family owned and ran. The servers are always nice and you can tell they take pride in the food. There are just a few side choices so if you want variety then this probably isn’t the place for you. I’d say the star of the food has to be the bar b que. And please try the turkey and dressing on sundays, it’s delish!!!
