I thought the only location was on the South Presa one in Southtown. I was wrong! This is an awesome Mexican Food restaurant, with a special emphasis on, you guessed right, The Taco. Handmade with love, seasoned with just the right amount of lard, their food is incredibly satisfying. It is not a fancy, white linen tablecloth joint. In fact, there are no tablecloths other than the trusty brown formica. San Antonio is a Taco Town. Yes, we are called Fat Antonio for a reason. But, you have to Live Life Large in the Big S.A.

I am extremely picky about eggs, and I have yet to have bad eggs here. pro: I get the potato and egg on wheat or chorizo and bean on wheat. The tortillas are perfect. Some places have them too thick and the wheat is not too hard like some versions. The potatoes are that right combination of slight crisp and soft center that I can’t seem to master at home. The eggs are not over or under cooked… just perfect… every time! The chorizo and bean has that slight spice and texture that should be labeled a narcotic for its addictiveness. I can’t leave without one to go, because it reheats well and makes for a enviable portable lunch or dinner. If you want to be popular at work, but an extra one to give away when they ask– and they will. con: Parking is very limited. The parking lot is too small, and you are either backing in or out onto unforgiving traffic. Over all, I recommend this Taco Haven over the S. Presa location. The food is better, and the parking is better. The only thing you will miss, by visiting the Gevers Taco Haven over the S. Presa, is the décor and a possible Tommy Lee Jones sighting. Get some chorizo and bean tacos to go and watch«The Coal Miners Daughter“at home. The best of both worlds.

With the caveat that I am from Washington, D.C., the land that Mexican food forgot: Best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had. And put simply: Dirt. cheap.

I had lunch here once. I never made that mistake again. Hand made flour tortillas are transcendent. The only thing I ever order is the Torres: amazing tortilla filled with beans, cheese, guacamole and bacon. I am not responsible for your failed lesser breakfast and guisada tacos. You’ve been warned.

Great food. Wonderful service. Great price. Number 6 breakfast with spicy potatoes on the side. Six of us dined for breakfast and none were disappointed.

When passing through San Antonio, breakfast tacos are a must! Several taco places are closed on Sunday, but we thankfully we got our fix at Taco Haven! Small space, friendly staff, quick service. We had the carne guisada, huevos a la Mexicana, and bean and cheese breakfast tacos — all excellent! I think our entire meal was $ 11(for two) — what a steal!

This is a great place for authentic Mexican food! I had a plate with cheese enchiladas and crispy beef taco, and it was so good! Get this — the taco shell was like Doritos chips. I had the one of the Doritos tacos from Taco Bell, and this was the same shell. The enchilada sauce was a brown carne gravy, which I don’t think I’ve ever had before. I’m used to the red chile sauce. Two homemade flour tortillas come with the plate. I saw a daily special of Polish guisada tacos! I will definitely try that next time. I live near Sea World, and I tried this place because I left my dog at the vet on Gevers for his day spa. I have passed right by this place since I was a little kid. I wish this could be located closer to me, but it is still worth the drive! Five stars!

Great place to eat. Ate here while my car was getting fixed next door. Had the carne guisada and tacos, which were great. Server was awesome and let me sit there and work on my laptop while waiting. Highly recommended for a great price. You can tell the restaurant is like a family run place with everyone’s attitude to satisfy was there and made me feel welcome.

They have the biggest and tastiest breakfast tacos and fajita tacos hands down! I know the other location is good too. This location is significantly smaller dining space wise so you have to arrive early on the weekends. Although you have to wait to be seated it’s worth it. I could eat there everyday if I didn’t live so far. They also allow call ahead orders.
