Every time I go here the service is completely awful. The waiters are all ill attentive and care little for the customer. However, it is partly the fault of the equally as poor management. I have my check to a manager to cash me out, and he didn’t even know how to run the check himself. He stood at the computer for nearly 5 minutes before finally asking one of his waiters to do it.

First time here and I had mix feelings. When my friends and I were waiting at our table — eating chips for 10 minutes — we didn’t know who our waiter was. The ceiling kept dripping water because it was raining outside, so the location we were at was not the best choice. The food was good it could have been better but I did enjoy it. It was a good first time experience but could always been improved.

We were just coming threw town and needed some Mexican food! This place would be my favorite Mexican food place if we lived here! Thanks for feeding us :)

Cute from the outside… but that’s about it. The expensive fajitas(approx. $ 20 for one person) were really, really average with maybe 4 oz of chicken. Guacamole had no cilantro, garlic, flavor. The margaritas were weird. I would probably give it 1.5 stars but that’s not an option.

In-laws wanted to try this place so we dropped in. So glad we did! We were seated immediately, and before we could all sit down, a bowl of piping hot, thin and crispy chips with freshly made salsa was placed on the table! In fact, the salsa was so fresh, it was still warm(the veggies are char-grilled…YUM)! The waitress took our drink order and we reviewed the menu while she prepared our drinks. The menu offered some of your standard-fare Mexican offerings, but there were also items I’ve never seen before! Bet you can guess what we tried! Hubby had the Chicken Rolladen with Cilantro Cream Sauce, and I had the Smoked Chicken with Poblano and Capers. Let me start by saying my chicken was smoked better than most BBQ places I’ve tried! To DIE for! And to be honest, it’s so good I think the sauce just muddles the wonderful smoke flavor, so I’ll hold it next time. Hubby’s chicken was rolled with chili’s and bacon and then topped with a wonderful cilantro cream… delish! Both orders came with rice and beans(retried or charro), and freshly-made flour tortillas. Great find worth keeping in our back pocket!

Our second time here first time was for lunch and it was fairly good. This time not so much, we waited at least 2 hours for our food, and it was ok but nothing to get excited about. The highlight was Josh our waiter, he was trying so hard and very enthusiastic and tried his best to compensate for the wait, the manager came out twice with a ho hum attitude. I think they should switch Josh to manager, I can’t say enough good about him, he did the best he could without any support from the kitchen. If your in the area and have time maybe stop and eat, don’t make a special trip.

Usually pretty good. I normally get the same things each time I come. The wait staff is always evolving and somehow we always seem to get amateurs. Sometimes we have to send the Queso back to be reseated even during summer months, other than that this location is consistent with its good and service!

Great place! Drinks are good and so is the food. Salsa n chips are the best. I love the tortilla soup my husband loves the seafood enchiladas. The Salsalito margarita is the one to get.

Everything was very good. Our waiter was very detail oriented and even brought us a pitcher of water. The food was very tasty and every meal had a full leftover meal. The drinks were very strong. Thank you Briar Patch Garb customer for recommending this place.

First time here and we really enjoyed the food. The chips, salsa and queso were amazing! We had the best service from our waitress. The restaurant is big and very clean. Will definitely come back!

I picked my favorite restaurant to go to for Valentines. Usually never to disappoint and it was the worst chicken burrito dinner I’ve ever ate. The flavor, the lack of chicken in the burrito. Our server had two tables couldn’t remember to bring the items we ordered. So disappointing:( Due to it being valentines they could have been overloaded. Will give them a second chance. :)

Worst food I’ve had since I got to San Antoio. How can you mess up Botanas appetizer that I had to wait 30 mins for… with only four tables occupied on the restaurant??? First and last visit.

The interior is very beautiful and we were sat promptly on a Saturday night. When I walked in they had a display table with margaritas and deserts. The sign read«Top Shelf Margaritas $ 9» I always order a drink when I dine out but I never get Top Shelf but I figured I would try it. I ordered a frozen top shelf margarita, my server brought me on the rocks. I mentioned to him the order was incorrect but I would still drink it. He told me «they use the frozen house margarita with cheap tequila and a shot of top shelf tequila.» Tasteless is an understand statement! If my margarita was top shelf, I do not want to know what the house margarita taste like. I didn’t want to complain to my server but for a $ 9 beverage, anyone would. I watched as the bartender topped it off with triple sec. I don’t mind she didn’t remake it but I’m paying for premium tequila. I tasted my margarita and it still wasn’t what I expected out of a Mexican restaurant. Even the sour mix they use has no flavor. My food came out, was not what I ordered. The management did the best to accommodate me while my food was being made. The food was decent. Well, our bill comes. My actually came out to $ 13!!! Wow!!! I’ve never paid that much for any drink much less a glass of watered down triple sec and sweet and sour. I went back and read the display, «Top Shelf Margaritas $ 9 Cucumber» and another I do not remember. I didn’t want to complain to my server or to management, I’ll eat the $ 13 and take my business elsewhere. I still took care of my server. For my first experience here I do not recommend nor will I return.

This place is a go to for me when I’m craving Mexican food. The restaurant always seems to be kinda empty when I go and the service is always good. The food definitely hits the spot whenever I’m craving some enchiladas. I’ve been here about 5 times or so and have never been disappointed.

2.5 stars. Meh. In the mecca of Tex Mex, I don’t get choosing Salsalitos. It’s a convenient meeting location for my family so I reluctantly go and still haven’t found THAT go to dish. It’s all just ok. The salsa IS good, it’s served warm, which is pretty unique. I just ordered a salad the other night, deciding to stay away from the Tex Mex aspect… it was ok, like everything here if you haven’t caught my drift yet. The fried flour tortilla strips on top were the jazziest part. I wouldn’t order it again so here we go again if there’s a next time, sigh… Brice is an awesome server, tho!

Pretty good… not great. I got the seafood Rellenos and the wife had the enchilada, tamale, and crisp beef taco plate. My seafood Chile Rellenos was actually good. I generally judge tex-mex places by whether they can make a decent Chile Rellenos. This one is good. Good batter, good sauce, good seafood stuffing, well cooked… not overcooked. Rice and beans… about average for San Antonio. Now, my wife’s enhiladas were average. Corn tortilla, cheese, sauce. The tamale was a bit small and a little too dry. The taco shell was crisp and the picadillo was a little bland. But for a quick place to stop, everything was okay… We’ll still come back.

Listening to mariachi music sure made the visit more enjoyable. The décor was quite nice. The place is huge. Food was typical tex-mex, nothing fancy nor«cuisine». The service we received was excellent and that is a reason I would come back. If they would ask me one suggestion– it would be to improve the quality of the tortilla chips.

I love the food here. I’m not a huge Mexican fan but I’ve found that how good the food is is relative to where you live. Personally, the Mexican cuisine is joust so-so in Augusta, Ga. I prefer to wait for our trips to San Antonio where I can really taste the difference. This is the only restaurant we’ve been to and I’m ok if we never go to another. The food was great, ambience casual and service was perfect.
