Nice hair cut place, next to nail salon so I can drop off the wife while I get my hair cut. Plenty of barbers so no appointment needed, average prices men $ 10 – 12 bucks and the only downside was the my barber picking up and talking on his cell phone while cutting my hair.

Worst Haircut place Ever. Lack of professionalism. Went in for a trim, long layers. Came out out with chopped up short layers, all uneven. Don’t go here!

Waited for about 15 – 20 minutes but was worth it. Stylist(Vanessa) was great and super friendly. I will definitely go back next time I need a haircut.

My biggest gripe with hair salons has to do nothing with the quality of the cut, the politeness of the stylists, but rather the blanket pricing. You see, I pretty much shave my head. I get a #2 on top(no pun intended) and a #1 on the sides. Typically this cut takes the stylist in the neighborhood of 5 – 8 minutes yet I pay the same price as someone who occupies that chair for twice, maybe three or four times as long. That is why I invested in a pair of clippers. Unfortunately, my better half who usually does the butchering, is out of town, thus leaving me no viable alternative but to pay salon prices. Just about everyone from San Antonio knows about Rios. It’s a chain of salons. This one opened, according to the man cutting my hair, about 5 months ago, so around November 2013. This was my first visit to the chain and I walked away very pleased with my experience. First, as a new salon, things look good. The interior is clean, equipment in good repair, and, at least on this occasion, no wait time(maybe I just got lucky). The stylist sat me down, asked what I wanted, and went to work. In about 7 minutes, I was done. The cut was well done, I didn’t have any hair down the back of my neck(which almost always happens), and the cost was cheaper than the other big name chains, at just $ 11. They have another men’s cut for $ 12 but who knows what the difference is. The overall experience was quite pleasant as was my stylist. The haircut is exactly what I asked for although he took it upon himself to put some product in my hair. However, that may have been to just stand my hair up and make sure there weren’t any rogue hairs. If I need the services of a stylist again, I would gladly go back to this Rios.
