My favorite place to eat !! You have to get the tony ! Get extra sweet sauce(reddish color one) it’s so good you could drink it! The Somoas are mouth watering.

I LOVE the Rickshaw — they come to my work Food Truck day 2x a week and I’d say that I’m there at least 6 times a month. Its amazing food at a great price and the staff is amazing. I wish I could tell you all the yummy things on the menu — but I always get the same thing — the chicken kabobs and sometimes I’ll get the chicken samosas. I find that the loner is plenty of food and will sometimes get two if skipped breakfast or know that I’ll have a late dinner. Sometimes I’ll take the chicken from the second kabob and stick it on a salad and then eat the flaky bread that is used by itself(its the best!) You’ve got to give this food truck a try — you won’t regret it!

This is my all-time favorite food truck. In the World! My husband is friends with the owner, Samir, and told me of his new career venture one night and insisted we try it out at the new food truck park down the street, Boardwalk on Bulverde. Needless to say, I was hooked. Three years later, I try my best to eat there when I can. Sometimes joining the Rackers at Food Truck Fridays to enjoy my favorite Pakistani food is my only option. Highlights: My favorite are the Samosas. They are light, crispy, and very flavorful. The chicken kabobs are delicious too! Lowlights: It can be difficult to eat at Rickshaw Stop because they don’t normally have a public appearance. However, they are normally at Rackspace Food Truck Fridays, which is technically«open» to the public. Just act like you work there, no worries! Tip: Don’t order thinking you’ll get your food quickly. Delicious food takes time, and be prepared to wait. Also, don’t forget to add the sweet sauce!

Got the two veggie samosas and the rice. Pretty tasty! Their sauces are legit though. Only complaint is the lack of friendliness of the guys working the truck. Maybe that’s what comes with food truck territory(and I’m being unreasonable?), but they didn’t seem to have time to smile or be cool with their customers.

San Antonio, challenge your taste buds. Try something different from the norm. The kabab here are fantastic! We ordered«The Tony». It includes two taco style Kebab(your choice of meat) and two semosas(your choice of meat). We ordered the beef Kabab and the chicken semosas. The meat was perfectly cooked and fresh. The semosas were perfectly crispy on the outside with juicy chicken meat on the inside. We need to continue to support our local food vendors and help keep San Antonio’s food culture well diversified. 5 star food, 5 star service

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the loner combo with a chicken kebab and two veggie samosas and my husband had the same combo but with the beef kebab. My chicken kebab was great and the bite of the beef that I had was also tasty. The price seemed pretty reasonable too. You get a good amount of food and a drink for less than $ 10. I’ll definitely be back to eat here again.

Good veggie options when they have them. Unfortunately too often they don’t. Since I’m vegetarian 3 out of last 4 times I’ve had to go elsewhere.

Delicious food! Convenient, fast, friendly. Came to try out in port San Antonio, can’t wait until next time. Had the chicken kebabs and samosa. Love the green sauce! Great flavors and spice.

I love naan but I love parathas even more! Think of parathas as the flaky buttery version of naan. Once I saw the kebabs served taco style in a paratha, I pulled out all the cash I had in my wallet. I ordered the The Loner which consists of 2 veggie samosas and a chicken tikka kebab wrapped in a PARATHA! Oh boy lets start with the samosas. They were crispy on the outside with a soft and spicy potato filling. I love the chutneys that accompany samosas. Each bite is a different experience depending on whether you choose the green(spicy) or tamarind(sweet) chutney. I dare you to mix both together, you won’t regret it. Finally on to the chicken kebab. Chicken was tender and well seasoned. But seriously the star for me was the paratha. If I haven’t said it enough, I’m a sucker for those flaky layers of tasty flat bread. Stop by this food truck, your stomach will be happy!

This place is fantastic — one my my favorite places to eat much less food truck. It serves Pakistani food which is kinda like Indian or Mediterranean grilled food which is kinda like grilled meat spice laden salsas and great bread. I had a beef taco-type thing on great bread. I can’t believe they can have such good bread on a food truck. I understand how somewhere like pasha pulls it off but this is a food truck. Also I had some samosas which where some type of flaky fried dough with meat or veggie inside. The meat was all flavorful and moist without being greasy. The sauces were also fantastic. Try everything you can and you will never be disappointed.

What’s better than sipping on some wine while eating some hot and tasty samosas! We found this food truck right outside Joe Saglimbeni Fine Wine & Spirits on a Saturday afternoon and had to make a stop! The service was quick and efficient as we decided to order the beef and chicken kebabs and chicken and veggie samosas. Now these kebabs aren’t your regular kebabs served on a stick. Rather they are served like a taco inside this delicious flatbread filled with onions and cilantro. They gave us two sauces: one that was spicy and one that was more of a sweet and sour type. Be forewarned, the spicy sauce is VERY spicy. In fact it was so spicy that my boyfriend had to run back to the truck to get another drink! The nice man working at the food truck suggested trying some of their yogurt sauce to help cool down the heat and boy did it work wonders! As for the samosas they were crisp and delicious! The veggie ones had potatoes and bell peppers in them and was perfectly seasoned while the chicken ones tasted amazing! To top off our meal we checked in with Unilocal to receive a free dessert! They ran out of baklava so we had to go with the kheer which was just as good. It’s essentially a rice pudding and definitely helped with all of the spiciness from before. Overall this food truck is a must try if you’re in the SA area and looking for something different to eat.

I tried the Rickshaw Stop at a Second Thursday event at the McNay Art Museum. My boyfriend and I shared the«Tony» which comes with two kebabs and two samosas. To be honest the«kebabs» were more like tacos but they tasted great! We both had the beef kebab — the meat was nicely spiced and very flavorful(I also tried all three of the sauces with my kebab and they were great). We both tried the vegetarian samosas — wow, these have a kick! They are definitely spicy but good. I would definitely like to try them again if I ever see them around.

Had Pakistani food for the first time @ the Rickshaw. They encouraged that I try one of their combos since it was my first time. Glad I did. I don’t remember what the name of the combo was(so sorry) but it had 2 of the fried triangle thingies(ok obviously, not the correct name) and 2 flat bread served taco style(again not the name). Its cool that they let you choose the stuffing– so you don’t have to have both of the same. So there is beef, chicken and some veggie options for any of it. The fried goodness was very tasty. I had one chicken & one veggie(potato) both were very tasty– definitely would reorder. The flat bread was very good as well– it was like a thick flour tortilla(different than naam). I enjoyed the grilled chicken kabob the second one was a spicy beef stew-ish stuffing– not my fave. The meat was a little meat-y. I know what you are thinking–«it meat, it supposed to taste like meat.» I know, I know, but it just had this overpowering gameyness that was competing with the seasoning. It was like a Pakistani guisado. I’d try something else next time. Give it a whirl– the staff was really helpful and always willing to answer any questions so why not try something different today?

Rickshaw Stop was at Saglimbeni Fine Wines for lunch. OMG what a great food truck. I always ask owner’s for their personal menu recommendation, and am always pleased. This was no different. There’s a reason this mobile provider of heavenly eats is ranked #7 in the country: the food is AWESOME! Esposa went with The Loner: beef behari kebab and 2 somosas. Tapeworm boy went with one daily special(ground chicken) and one beef bihari. The meats melt in your mouth. I am NOT a fan of anise or liquorish flavor, but it was a hit in the beef! The samosas were flaky and delicate. Sauces featured tamarind(for the chicken) and cilantro/mint(for the beef). Overall: OUTSTANDING. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

If I could eat nothing other than Rickshaw veggie samosas forever and always, that would be A-OK…LOVE! The rest of the menu, as well as the owners and the amazingly efficient and friendly service they provide, is equally as awesome. More than just a foodtruck that’s worth a stop if you notice it at an event, Rickshaw is well-worth seeking out and driving across town for anytime you want a fantastic meal.

I’m torn. One one hand I thought the food was quite tasty and they ceratinly aren’t chintzy on the meat in their kebabs. However, on the other hand, this is a food truck and I typically do not expect to pay sit-down restaurant prices when eating from a roach coach. This whole food truck revolution is new to me. I udnerstand that these trucks aren’t the ones that frequented the work sites my father labored at 45 years ago. I guess I have a mental block that tells me that with no brick and mortar restaurant shoudl come lower prices, right? Lower overhead. Yet, here I am paying premium kebab prices at a grease wagon… Well, the food was quite tasty. I can’t recall the exact name but I got the 2 kebab special with 2 samosas. I tried one each of the beef and chicken kebabs, same for the samosas. First, the bread they wrap these things in is exceptional. I really doon’t know how to explain it. My colleague on this excursion suggested it was like a pastry crust style or tortilla. Whatever it is, it’s tasty and is an excellent kebab distribution device. The beef and chicken kebabs were tender, juicy, and seasoned nicely. Some have stated that the kebabs are«spicy» but I didn’t find them as such. They offer up 2 sauces — a spicy green salsa and a sweet concoction. Again, even when using the hot sauce, it didn’t make the kebab that hot. I didn’t realize the other sauce was sweet until I slathered it on the chicken kebab. Oh well, it still tatsed very nicely. The samosas are wrapped in flaky dough that flakes away as you bite into it. The beef and chicken are well spiced and not spicy — at least to me. I also used my Unilocal check-in to get a free dessert. The baklava tasted as baklava should, with the sticky honey and pistacios. So why 3 stars. As I mentioned, I just thought it was overpriced. I spend $ 12 on 2 kebabs which were basically the size of soft tacos, and 2 samosas. For this price, and like I stated in my review about Garbanzo’s, I’d prefer to go to Pasha. While the food is delicious, the service quick, the owner very personable, I won’t be rushing out to find Rickshaw Stop because I think the price is a bit too high. Now, if Rickshaw Stop is parked next to the Salad Truck like it was at the Port od San Antonio this past Thursday, there’s no debate as to where my $$$ is going — Rickshaw Stop.

All I can say is WOW! I had the *fall-apart* Beef Bihari and man was it good! You get your choice of three different sauces served on the side — I went for the spicy. I also had a Unilocal Check-in offer for a free Kheer(Pakistani rice pudding). I have never had this before and unfortunately didn’t care for it but maybe that’s just my taste. It actually tasted a bit like perfume, so I won’t be getting it again. Their Baklava, on the other hand, is EXCELLENT.
