The truck came to the Bank of America building where our office is located. Many people from my office tried it for the first time and won’t be back. $ 11 for two fajita tacos and rice and beans(no drink)? $ 4 for a chicken fajita taco on flour? That is absolutely absurd. I would pick Taco Cabana for the same food. There is nothing special about these tacos. Nothing that makes them stand out that would allow them to be this expensive. Torchy’s, on the other hand, backs up their higher prices with some creative tacos where it may only take one to fill you up. Teka Molino is literally twice as expensive as they should be and we will not be back.

The company I work for just rolled out(see what I did there) a new«Food Truck Fridays» program where they are trying to feature different food trucks for our employees to enjoy. It just so happened that Teka Molino was on site, and after the delicious food I just ate I’m glad they were here! Just like Eugene noted, the flour tortilla did seem very store-bought because of how thin it was, but I’m not 100% sure because I was under the impression that their tortillas were home made. As a matter of fact, I just called the B&M restaurant and the nice lady said they are home made. Also, their prices are a bit on the higher side but I completely understand since they are providing a mobile service. Example: a Teka Plate comes with 2 tacos, rice, beans and a fountain drink for $ 8.50 plus tax. Actually that’s not so bad now that I think about it. For just over $ 5 I scored a CG taco(flour tortilla) and a bean cup. My co-worker got a guacamole cup and a puffy taco. That was probably the biggest, most delicious looking puffy taco I have ever seen in my life! As a bonus, if your order comes out to more than $ 5, you get a complimentary drink! Needless to say, both my coworker and I devoured our food within minutes of returning to our offices :) A brief explanation on their various«cups» — it’s a small, round, fried corn tortilla cup stuffed to the brim with a filling of your choice. You can choose from beans(topped with cheese, yum) or guacamole or picadillo. Each one will only set you back by $ 2 and you will want another and another and another! To top it all off, their service was great and they do accept plastic. Now I have yet another reason to love Fridays!

I saw the Teka Molino food truck parked outside Broadway and 12th St. one day as I was pedaling southbound from a disappointing and non filling dining experience at Boiler House. The service was friendly and they had almost everything you’d expect to find at the restaurants. I ordered 2 carne guisada tacos and 2 picadillo tacos w/lettuce and tomato. The carne guisada had a bit too much salt and the tortillas seemed packaged than homemade. But compared to all the other taco trucks here in San Antonio, this one is the best I’ve had so far.
