Pretty slow, more like hella slow. We’ve been here for about 15 min and nothing came out from ordering. I haven’t even gotten the food but I’m pretty sure it’s not going to meet my expectations. Just saying… if you can even get ahold of you WAITER! No tips… I’ll tell you that much dude. (5 Min later) Guess what… still waiting. «So am I still waiting…» — Sum41 the answer is yes… yes you are. Finally!!! Got the food… yay! *In Sarcasm* Food’s alright.

The service isn’t great, the location is not the best, and like others have mentioned it’s quite the hole in the wall. But here’s all you need to know… Decent tacos served 24hrs a day! So next time it’s 2:30am and you and your friends had too many drinks and can’t find something to eat near Southtown, Ric Ron is your taco oasis. Ps. Great people watching opportunities after 2am.

This place use to be awesome hole in the wall, now it’s just a hole. The food really is bad. The waitress would bad mouth the cook openly in front of patrons throw wrong orders & sub par rejected orders back at her, which in turn the cook would take out her frustrations on the food prep. A vicious cycle of belittlement and shitty food. The rice tasted old, the beans looked old, and main was cold. My little girl just wanted fries, that got forgot about then rushed them which came back raw on the inside. The waitress was nice, very attentive to our needs. And bad mouthed the cook for us in front of everybody when everything was screwed up lol. We did get our ticket comped by the waitress because of the bad experience which made it ok for now. …unless we get sick later from our half eaten meals.

Cons — the sweet tea was not drinkable — when we asked the waitress for a couple more minutes to decide, she didn’t come back for almost HALFANHOUR — it took another half hour to make our food(tacos) — the chicken fajita tacos were plain and didn’t have peppers and onions — my husband got very ill from eating this food. I, luckily, only took a couple of bites — worst tacos i’ve had in Texas — a family of four who arrived after us was done and ready to leave before we were even served. We were perfectly nice and did nothing to cause intentional bad service. Pros — open 24 hours — they had dr pepper in a can

Worst Taco place I’ve ever been to. Worst customer service in San Antonio. Absolutely terrible in every way. Open 24⁄7 and holidays if you are dying of starvation.

This place deserves the same number of stars as «fucks» the kitchen staff gave about their food, ZERO! Some of the best conversations I’ve had with my friends have been in the middle of the night, in a diner that serves sub par food, with-in 5 minutes of walking into Ric-Ron’s I was thinking this was the type of night I’m in for. Walking to find a table, a gentleman in the back of the restaurant is vomiting into his to go bag. But it was 2:45 in the morning so I’m gonna blame the food for that. I look around, and I see more than one sign that says they«reserve the right to refuse service to anyone,» seems like a friendly place. Turns out the conversation was the only thing enjoyable about this experience. I tried to order Puffy tacos but they«didn’t have any,» so I ordered the chalupa plate, and my friend ordered two tacos. When the food was served, my food was wrong, but the waitress realized that and took it back. While I waited for the correct plate, my friend was telling me that the tacos were horrible, that they«almost tasted flavorless,» so I asked him for a piece of the tortilla, and it had the sauce from the taco on it, it tasted like a communion wafer from church. It was quite possibly the blandest tortilla I’ve ever had in my life. My plate was bland as well, like I put salt and pepper on the meat, and that was the only flavor it had, there was about a quarter slice of processed cheese on top of my chalupa, I guess they couldn’t be bothered shred it all the way. I’m not entirely sure how they did it, but they seemed to be able rid the food of any flavor what so ever. So much so that, I could only taste the salt and pepper I added and processed cheese. I guess if your one of those people who thinks paprika is spicy then this place may be for you. Neither myself, nor my friend finished the poor excuses for food we were served, we left hungry and felt like we shouldn’t have had to pay for such a mockery. But we did, and hope to never return. I guess if I had to find something good to say about the place, it would be that it was open 24⁄7. Thats why we were there in the first place, because it was open

almost midnight on a Sunday, I want some potato and cheese tacos but the only place that I frequent with potato tacos available before 5am is closed Sundays. I’d heard a rumour of this place and though I bookmarked it on Unilocal forever ago I’m rarely in the area to stop by. luckily I worked 6 minutes from here and the timing made it a perfect day to try this place out. You almost pass by even looking for it if you don’t know it’s squashed between two other buildings with a single narrow entrance and limited up front parking. a help wanted sign in the window was my first impression of this place being understaffed, so I wasn’t terribly surprised to walk through a door with no one at the register on left and only 3 other people in the dining area, 2 of which turned out to be waitresses. one left shortly after midnight leaving a single girl upfront and the cook in back. after standing for a minute in the entrance way she comes to the register with a «can I help you», I felt a bit awkward but managed to say I was eating in and chose my preferred seat as suggested. she was very friendly though prompt, but being hungry and tired I wasn’t offended by quick service vs chatty waiters questions. simple menu, decent prices, weekday breakfast and lunch/dinner specials posted through the restaurant. 9 booths and 5 table tops sums up the interior dining area seating. the bathroom was clean but a bit broken(soap dispenser, toilet flush button, etc) but ideals not my primary concern at a cheap priced eatery. tacos were good, dining area was maintained, and though the waitress was distracted if not a bit unprofessional in general mannerisms(in a complacency in my workplace type) way she was still attentive, and nice. my soda was in a can with a glass of ice, she remembered napkins, I didn’t have ask Twice for salsa and overall it’s a solid 4 to me right now.

One of my favorite local Taco houses in all of San Antonio. And it’s open 24 hours! I go here often late at night with friends and we always enjoy the food and simple atmosphere.

Wow the food delicious! My tacos were stove hot and the salsa was awesome. I ordered two tacos and Kinda wished I took home a third for the next day breakfast. The outdoor scenery isn’t appealing but I’m glad we stayed.

This place might seem sketchy as first, but give it a shot. The food is soooo good no matter the time, go at 9am or 2am it’s still awesome. The prices are good as well. No complaints. Except the drunk man who fell asleep and started snoring while eating lol. That was just some entertainment for me

When someone says, «it’s a little hole in the wall, but the food is great», they must be talking about this place. It’s a tiny place just off the corner of Mitchell and Roosevelt, it sits behind a bar(or something) so you can easily miss it. The food is spot on delicious. I’ve had a variety of breakfast tacos… all very tasty, especially anything with their beans. But the best dish I’ve had here is the brisket. It’s flavorful and they give it a lil grill which then adds a lil crisp so when you bite you have flavor, tender and crisp, which equals happy camper. One more thing… this place never closes… it’s open 24⁄7

Open 24⁄7! Prefer the night shift folk! Food is delicious, great place to go after the club! Refuse to go to Taco Cabana. On the outside the place does look run down but it’s worth it! :D

Sunday is barbacoa Day in San Antonio. I couldn’t get barbacoa in the morning because I had to run errands. At 6pm I decided to see if they had barabcoa. My luck they did. I got a pound of barbacoa, corn tortillas, green hot sauce, pico de gallo and sliced avocado. i believe it was about $ 10.00. The barbacoa did not have much fat and had a really good flavor. i was a Happy Girl!!!

Was down on the southside and I needed to pick up some tacos to take in to the office. Searched Unilocal and found this place around the corner. I read Curtis C’s review and i knew I had to try this place out. I walked in and perused the taco menu. They have everything that you can think of. I love chicarron so I ordered that for myself and a smorgasboard of other tacos for my office. Well suffice to say I was the hero around the office that day. Not only had I brought Tacos… I had brought some of the best tacos they had ever had. Keep it up Ric-Ron you made me look like a champ!

From the outside the place looks like a total hole in the wall. But when you’re craving for tacos whether it’s in the wee hours of the morning, middle of the afternoon or late night and refuse to go to Taco Cabana or Rocky’s, then this is the place to go. The tacos here are just as good and cheap too.

24⁄7 goodness. We rolled into the place at like 2:30a, looking for tripas. Trust me, this seemed to make sense at such an hour in the morning, after so much Tecate. They had tripas, lingua, sweet bread, all the kinds of tacos that you’ve always heard of, but been afraid to eat. They had the courtesy to ask how I wanted my tripas. I didn’t know how to answer that… Not gross?! They offered, «crispy.» I opted for that. Crispy. The tripas tasted like the parts of the pig that you’re not supposed to eat, like the leftovers of bacon left on the griddle for way, way, way too long. I also had chorizo and eggs, which was dang good. I was impressed with the speed and professionalism that they treated us with, regardless of the state of sobriety of our party. They’d seen it before. They kept the water glasses full, and the service was good. They brought us a hot picante sauce that glamorously let off steam as they brought it to our table. It turned out that it was the same salsa that they put on the table. The green sauce that we had to request was the best salsa that they offered! It was hot, spicy, and tasty. It was a jalapeño and tomatillo mix. Delicious. The place was clean. The artwork seemed a little random, like they had acquired the artwork at the last moment before opening the place. We got harangued by solicitors hocking desserts to benefit the local church(at nearly 3am). We didn’t sample the church’s goods. The good service was the best part of the meal. They were understand of our party’s general inebriated state, and still served us efficiently and in a friendly manner.
