First time diner last night. Had a late dinner in which we had phở and sesame chicken. The phở was average. Sesame chicken was told would be crispy and was not. Fried rice was as average as can be. Nothing stood out from this place. Service was fast and polite so that was okay. Probably won’t return even though it’s closest to where I live.

This is my second time at this location and it’s been all around wonderful both times. Very reasonable prices, delicious food, & the service has been fantastic every time. All employees super friendly and answered all my annoying questions about the food. Both times I’ve been in there are always regulars and servers making friendly conversation with everyone. Very pleasant and clean atmosphere! Phở real ;)

I thought I would try this place based on the good reviews. Started out with wet sticky table. And then ordered the summer rolls. Major disappointment the rolls had zero vegetables in them. Just some nasty pickled pork and small shrimp. And the peanut sauce tasted old like they pass it around from table to table. I have had great phở in San Diego, Austin and even in El Paso. And the people of San Antonio vote this best phở. I guess this is be expected since they also think they have good Mexican food. From a guy from El Paso it is a joke. This place is just phony Chinese food.

Best restaurant on planet Earth. If you’re not eating here for sesame chicken, you’re doing yourself a great misfortune.

We were really craving some Vietnamese food after camping and we happened to be passing through San Antonio at the time. Based on the reviews and our location, we blindly picked this place. We were pleasantly surprised! The service was good and there were plenty of seats — it was a little dark inside for my taste. We ordered phở with brisket and the bun which had a fried spring roll in it. The flavor of the phở was good and there were lots of greens to mix in. The bun was good, especially with all the sauce. I really enjoyed the spring roll as well. I’d definitely recommend this place to those who have a hankering for Vietnamese food. Good price, good service, and good food!

This review is just on the Phở that I got. I believe it was P20. The broth was excellent and they loaded up the meats. I liked how they were not cheap with the greens and the bean sprouts. Best phở I had in San Antonio! If I was reviewing the Chinese lunch special that I got, I would of gave 3 stars.

One of the best Phở places in San Antonio! The food is always very good! The service on the other hand is horrible. The servers are very short with responses and good luck getting a refill. Today I asked a lady walking by if she could assist with getting me a refill and she said«you are not my table! Find your server…» then walked off. If the food wasn’t so good I would have made a scene. The only reason I don’t go off when I go here is because I’d like to return. Lol

Phở was good. Didn’t care for the summer rolls but the Vietnamese spring rolls were good. Good service.

Ok, so I’ve only tried Phở once before with friends, but my husband wanted to try it and I was definitely interested in trying it again. I am definitely no expert, but this Phở was very tasty! I got the brisket phở and my husband got the brisket and steak. We got the fried spring rolls(name?) to share. Our appetizer came out quickly and was hot and fresh. So much flavor, my husband stated that he could have just ate a plate of this! Our Phở came out and I did my best to explain it to my husband. I think I did a pretty good job because he finished his bowl. I thoroughly enjoyed mine, the flavors in the broth were very good, the meat was tender and flavorful, and the spices that they bring you to put in were fresh and crisp. Service was spot on! I definitely cannot speak highly enough. Our server was kind and patient as we made our decision. We were checked on by someone that was not our server a few times, which was nice. Although the restaurant was busy, our server and the other mystery helper(maybe the owner or manager) made a point to say goodbye as we left. We will definitely return soon to try other variatiosn of Phở!

The chicken Phở is delicious! They serve it with cilantro, noodles, onions, jalepeño, a spicy sauce, some VERY delicious basil, and chicken. Only 4 stars because the chicken tasted a little funny and i didn’t eat it. Will definitely be back to try vegetarian or beef phở.

Phở is one of my usual dinner, but this restaurant does not have a good phở. My soup tastes so much MSG in there that I can feel like stuck in my throat for several hours. Service is just ok. The atmosphere is quietly dark, unclean since everything seems old and dirty, specially the table and the sauce on it.

Consistently one of the best phở places in town. ABSOLUTELYWONDERFUL flavor. Menu had tons to choose from, but I can’t ever pull myself away from the phở. Not the fanciest place, but you can’t beat the price. Everything you could want to add to your mean is right there on the table. I love the place to stop in for a quick, cheap, yummy meal. I’ll be back again and again!

I come here for the phở. Ive never had anything else here and it is the best I’ve had in San Antonio. I like that they serve it with a plate piled high with bean sprouts, cilantro, sweet basil lime and slices of jalapeño. Besides the Phở they have a typical Chinese food menu for the less adventurous eaters in your group.

Love, love, love this place the food is so good and cheap! The spring rolls are kick ass every time I’ve been here and the Phở, what is not to love about such a perfectly made bowl of soup. I’m pretty sure they make their noodles and no place better in San Antonio of you want good Vietnamese.

Of all the places for Phở that I have gone to in San Antonio Phở Cong Ly has to be the stand out for me. They have a huge sitting area and plenty of staff who are very attentive. The most notable points are… Price: At around 7 $ for a modest sized bowl it fits my budget. Meat: For the price there was a TON of meat. Flavor: I ended up drinking my soup Speed: Food was out in less then 5 minutes from order. I also never had to wait on anything, water check etc. Currently holds my title of favorite.

Came here with a friend on a rainy day. Not the most authentic, but phở was pretty good. Service was lacking. It took an extra long time for them to take our order. I ordered the phở tai and we ordered the fried egg rolls to share. I was super worried when I saw a lemon come with our garnishes, since all the phở I’ve gotten on the West Coast comes with lime. Lemon doesn’t really taste as good with phở. The garnishes weren’t the freshest I’ve seen either. The phở itself was actually pretty good(4⁄5) although the color and taste was lighter than broth I’ve had on the West Coast, but still pretty flavorful. Meat was better quality than most phở places in San Antonio and was cooked a proper medium rare. We also ordered the fried egg rolls(3⁄5), which also were clearly not authentic to me. They were pretty good for a while because they are super flavorful and fried tasting, but they are hard to eat after a while. The egg rolls are like double or triple fried here and come with iceberg lettuce. The texture of the egg rolls are a mix of extra crispy, chewy, and sometimes hard on the outside. I’ve never had vietnamese egg rolls with such thick skin or with iceberg lettuce. Often, I’ve had Romaine lettuce which I prefer. Overall this is a decent place to get phở with a lighter but flavorful broth in San Antonio, but if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese that rivals the West Coast, you’ll probably be a bit disappointed.

This is a must-do for every visit to San Antonio. Great spot that has been here for ages, fast kitchen service, direct wait staff and never an empty drink. Authentic food that is to sue for.

When my hubby and I moved from Southern California to San Antonio we really missed our phở fix! We were lucky enough(through Unilocal) to find Phở Cong Ly and were happy that it lived up to its reviews! The restaurant always seems packed when we go and it seems pretty evident most of the people there are regulars. The phở itself is pretty tasty and comparable to our SoCal faves(which says a lot saying we have a ton of options there!)… but what I have to rave about is the service! There are 2 gentlemen and 1 lady that typically wait on the Phở Cong Ly side of the restaurants(sadly I don’t think I ever caught their names) that are always lovely(even when it’s busy!). They always remember both of our orders– right down to the Coke for my husband and that I like chili oil for my soup! Outstanding. :)

I seem to mostly give 5 star reviews, not because I love every place I go, but because I work so hard at trying places that just do it right. This place is the real deal and does it way right. Plus I won’t bother wasting time reviewing something that was bad. This place is almost out of movie scene or another city, a packed house of people with there neck bent at bowls of deliciousness. It’s packed and occupies two different storefronts with separate signage since they offer other Asian and more general Chinese food under other business name. Once inside don’t worry, it may look like two restaurants missing a separation wall, but they only have one menu so you won’t miss anything. We ate as a family and tried a few things on the menu. Nothing disappointed and the phở was my best yet. Also service was spot on, our server was a gentleman that at first I was worried by impression might not be attentive, but entirely surprised us and delivered great service and recommendations when quizzed on the menu.
