KNOW YOUR INSURANCE BENEFITS! I went for my first appointment yesterday for a weight loss medication. They told me on the phone they did not take insurance and that I would pay $ 75 for the doctor’s visit. Everything went fine until Dr. Rojas asked if I had any blood work for my thyroid etc. done recently and I told him no. He asked the nurse to draw blood and a urine sample. I asked him if the blood work was covered by my insurance and told him which one I had and he told me it would be. Keep in mind that no one had ever even seen my insurance though at this clinic. As the nurse was prepping me for the blood draw I asked her if she was sure it was covered and she told me that my particular insurance allows one covered blood analysis per year. I asked her if she would check to make sure and she just walked away for a minute then came back and said it was. I stopped her from drawing ANY blood and told her I first needed to make sure and would be happy to allow them to continue once I checked. Her demeanor changed and she seemed irritated. I went to the front to pay my $ 75 fee and she still seemed irritated. The woman at the front was very nice throughout but did not know what I was talking about with insurance and looked clueless about verifying benefits. I told her I would verify the benefits myself and she said ok. However, I was never given the particular codes to even give my insurance for verification and felt uncomfortable being there any longer and just wanted to get out.
Everything fell apart the minute these people were telling me what my insurance would cover without even knowing what the heck the plan was. After this, the practice seemed shady to me and I won’t be back. Dr. Rojas seemed very knowledgable and nice and that nurse was nice until I told her I was afraid to proceed without first knowing my benefits. Blood work can be very costly, in some cases $ 2,000 and up. I’m sure if the shoe were on the other foot these people would want to know their benefits first. Had my insurance not covered it, I would have been the one stuck with the bill. I left with the prescription and would like to have continued with them had this not happened. I just lost all trust in the whole practice after this.
I plan on calling my insurance tomorrow and letting them know what happened and have them verify if the urine sample I did go ahead and let them keep to analyze is covered as they said it would be. I also plan on letting them know what I was told about blood work being covered and that I never let them collect a drop.
In the future, they need to tell patients who schedule with the doctor that while insurance is not accepted, SOME procedures such as blood and urine analysis may be needed and to find out their benefits ahead of time.

Highly recommend these folks; I’ve gotten the best results here than multiple places I’ve tried around SA!

I have seen horribly overdone work done by some doctors. Not that they are all bad, by any means– but Marta never over does it. She will also be honest if I really need it or not.

This is an excellent skin care clinic with excellent customer service. I have truly appreciated that I am consistently treated with kindness and courtesy here. Marta and Katherine are super friendly and very helpful. Scheduling appointments has been very easy, and they really do their best to accommodate. The clinic is very nice, with a relaxed and down to earth feel to it. I have been comfortable with and would recommend any of the treatments or products here. Marta and Katherine will take the time to answer any questions or concerns and I am always very happy with my results. Happy customer, will keep coming back.

DO NOT GO FOR ANY KIND OF LASER TREATMENT!!!
The technician does not know what she is doing. I will be scarred for life. Worst decision ever!

You will never find a more wonderful staff and excellent service. I recommend any of the procedures here; laser hair removal, microderm, B-​12 shots, peels, facials, etc. Great prices and excellent recommendations. If you want to accomplish something but aren’t sure what to do, Marta will make sure you get the correct treatment and won’t push you to do anything you don’t need. I have followed her to 3 different locations and finally she has her own place. Customer for life.
