The most disappointing Chinese food meal ever. Bland fried chicken breast with a somewhat lemony sweet sauce on the side passed as Lemon Chicken; the«Gulf» shrimp were supermarket freezer shrimp that tasted and had the texture as though they had been froze and thawed multiple times; the crab rangoon seemed to be lacking any crab flavor-cream cheese wrapped in a stale wonton wrapper. The atmosphere did not exude cleanliness.

It’s is fairly priced but not the best I’ve ever had. I’m a little picky with asian food. Shrimp toast extremely oily, obviously the oil want hot enough. Flavor good though.

We have been going here for years. It’s a family owned and operated restaurant, with authentic, delicious food and a soothing atmosphere. The walls are adorned with traditional Chinese art, and soft, instrumental music is always playing. The restrooms are always in amazing condition, without fail. Even those have a pleasant atmosphere; with softly lit, dimmed lamps and elegant pedestal-style sinks. The family is always extremely courteous and intuitive; your drinks will never be empty. They are always smiling, always enthusiastic and happy to see us. The slight language barrier hasn’t prevented us from getting to know them and coming to consider them an extended part of our family. Should(gods forbid) this place ever close it’s doors, we will never find a worthy replacement.

It’s extremely rare I ever venture to the east side to dine. It’s even more rare I ever venture to the east side to eat Chinese. However after noticing some of my old high school chums checking into Lung Fung on Facebook I’ve finally decided to see what all the hype was about. After looking at the pix here on Unilocal,my heart and my appetite decided to get the combination fried rice, 2 eggrolls and a glass of water. When I arrived on a cool and overcast day, I walked in and a Chinese woman said I could sit anywhere so I did just that. A waiter arrived to my table, I requested a water and placed my order. I’d expected to get my eggrolls first but they arrived with the combination fried rice and just as I was about to ask for sweet and sour sauce, he immediately took off. The eggrolls were lukewarm instead of piping hot like the ones served at La Chinita and Hung Fong however the combination fried rice was very good. It was almost as good as the kind served at Hung Fong. The only thing missing from Lung Fung’s combination fried rice was the bean sprouts. So far Lung Fung isn’t one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in S.A. however it comes really close. They just need to work out a few kinks like improving the customer service and having sweet and sour sauce at the tables in addition to soy sauce. But as far as Chinese restaurants on the east side go, and there aren’t many, this one is not too shabby.

Again, it is location, location, location. 3 stars? Where are you gonna find Chinese food on this side of town? Yes there is the buffet place, but again, there is the buffet place, enough said. The Thai place is good, but unless you are just racist, you know they aren’t the same. I will say, order for pick up. I’m down with a family running a place, I however don’t support the kid yelling«momma» non stop for he entire span of your meal.

The combination rice was very filling like usual. The only problem I had with it this time was that it seemed that that chicken was a little bit on the dry side. Maybe they could add some color to it like some peas and carrots and maybe some eggs.

The service is very fast, good, & friendly-that can go a long way towards the experience. My husband ordered Mongolian Beef & I ordered Beef w/veggies, spicy. The Mongolian beef was very bland, tastes like the stuff you get at the mall food court. The spicy beef w/veggies were better because of the heat from the spicy chili seasoning. The fried rice is plain rice w/turmeric for color & some fried egg: not very good at all, I drowned mine in sweet & sour sauce. Egg drop soup has no flavor at all, very boring. My husband said the egg roll was very good, but I passed on eating mine. Overall, it was a nice lunch because of the service, I have had much better Chinese food, so maybe I’m spoiled, I don’t know. For a super fast lunch with great service, it’s a good option, just don’t go expecting great food, you’ll be disappointed.

I don’t know how I keep ending up on W.W. White road at lunch time! It must be the smörgåsbord of restaurant offerings. I had some coworkers tell me that this was a great spot to try. I went in a few months ago to give it a try. The food was good and inexpensive, exactly what a Chinese lunch should be. They get you in and out quickly and your tea glass is never empty. I would have given higher marks but the food was not as fresh as I hoped. I would definitely give them another shot. Maybe I will give the original Lung Fung on Brookhollow a try.

A great Chinese restaurant. I have been coming to this place for nearly 6 years and have yet to be disappointed. The prices are really reasonable, the portions are more than generous and the people are quick to serve you. Almost as soon as you seat yourself the server is standing there waiting for your drink order. The restaurant is in a small building on the eastside of San Antonio and is really easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. It’s a favorite place to eat for every working drone in the area. If you go around lunch time you’ll know what I mean. Are there better Chinese places in the city? Sure. But Lung Fung does there job so well you’d be just as sattisfied coming here as you would going to a higher end restaurant. And save yourself some cash, no doubt. They are closed on Sundays. Order the lemon chicken!
