Good menudo and caldo de pollo but everything else we’ve tried has been disappointing. Guac has zero flavor – tastes like mashed up avocadoes with a little milk mixed in. Consistency is good but that’s it. Chips are way too greasy. And I’m jumping on the cheese complaint bandwagon like many other reviewers. They don’t use queso(fresco, panela, Cotija, etc.) They use Velveeta or a similar brand. I don’t even like Velveeta in non-Mexican food. I sure as hell don’t want it in quesadillas or as a taco garnish. If you come to this place, and your dish has cheese in it, expect it to be yellow and American. Their rice is okay. Their beans follow their guac’s suit: flavorless and bland. This place is in San Antonio motherloving Texas. It boggles my mind that they can’t even get the Tex-Mex staples right. Tsk tsk. que verguenza!

We love this place. The food is always perfection and the service is never bad. I will miss this place when we move. By far the best authentic Mexican food we’ve had here.

My husband is an easy going guy and decided to take me here. The food wasn’t actually bad but the chips and salsa are horrible. Chips too thick and salsa tastes like watered down tomato sauce. The décor is not something to be inspired by. They have this weird side gig with advertisements all over the table which makes you wonder is this a Mexican restaurant or advertisement company? Taking that aside, the place is dark and dusty. They have these weird screens hanging from the ceiling that are covered in dust. You can see the alcohol storage area from your table which was weird and there’s these silly advertisements for hard alcohol all over the place. What this establishment needs to do is just be a Mexican restaurant and be good at that, not all this other side stuff. And lastly, use the people you pay and clean the place up so it doesn’t look like a warehouse with food.

This is the second time my wife and I along with our three children have visited this establishment. It’s been the same both times. Service was good and attentive, but not during peak hours either. The drinks I’ve had are strong which is how I like them, but the reason the restaurant gets two stars and will never see us again is the same reason all the other bad reviews are posted here. The queso, terrible. My wife and I have very good palates and cook mostly ourselves at home, so it’s definitely a treat to have someone else cook for a change, but we both swear they’re going across the street to Walmart and getting velveeta and possibly those premarinated, bagged chicken fajitas too. We added shrimp to the fajitas and they were literally not seasoned and tasted almost boiled. Times must be tough for Los Generales. They gave us enough rice and beans to barely even make a taco a piece of and It was $ 90 when it was all said and done today. Too many other places to go spend your money and get way better quality food.

Been here twice now for breakfast and for mole enchiladas and tortilla soup. Nothing really impressed me. Good food, but it’s not going to make a «must visit» list when I’m back in town visiting family. I will say this though, great tortillas. Yum.

And all FOUR of us now have food poisoning. Never again. Usually very pleased with their food but something was up this afternoon. Gonna be a long weekend.

This place does not charge the advertised prices on their menus. Their excuse was, its the price that we have on the computer that we charge. Wanted to speak to the manager and was told they will be back in about an hour. So I left them my phone number and three hours later, still no phone call. I will keep going through the drive thru and keep ordering the same item and refuse to pay at window until they change prices on the outside menu.

They cooked my steak medium rare as ordered, that’s amazing for Mexican cuisine… tender, juicy, perfect… kudos

Best Mexican restaurant in the area that I can find so far. Love the chilequiles plate and they have great ranchero sauce! Would definitely recommend over salsalitos.

When you dine in, the service is great and so is the food. Never ever do the drive through, every car in front is like 15 – 20 minute wait. Be careful when you call in your order for pick up because 75% chance that they got your order wrong.

Good food, fair service. Definitely a safe bet for Mexican food. My only complaint is the singer. He’s too loud and doesn’t fit during family dining time.

Not bad for a quick fix if you need it. Not fine dining but the food is a step above fast food. It serves the typical Mexican food staples and I will say the breakfast plates are good. If you are in need of a decent Margarita, this place can blend a good mix either frozen or on the rocks(much better). Not pricy but you might want to avoid when they have the lounge singer… Unless you’re into that sort of thing.

I was really excited to come back to this place but in just a couple of minutes of walking in I regretted going! The host was busy, so she had us seat ourselves. We had no menus and no silverware… The bus boy brought out chips and salsa, they were just ‘ok’. The waitress took our drink order but still no menus were brought! When the hostess sat a table next to us they had menus and silverware and even got their food order taken before us! We ordered and the food came in just a few minutes but the portions were disappointing! 6 – 8 months ago the plates were so big there were always left overs. This time the portions were tiny and almost left me and my family hungry! The music is so loud you can hardly hear yourself but it is a man playing his music and singing solo so I have to give him a lot of credit for his performance! Over all I have to give this place 3 stars for its cleanliness, great taste and entertainment but they really need to work on their customer service with more servers and a hostess that actually cares about customers and their portions.

I usually go here because it’s convenient and by my house. The food is normally okay but today I went and grabbed a carne guisada plate and found a chunk of hair in it!!! I can’t eat carne guisada anymore after experiencing that. Sad way to lose an appetite.

It is frustrating when a taqueria uses yellow cheese on my tacos, especially chilaquiles… I need some asadero, Cotija, or at least some queso fresco! The salsa is a little heat with no flavor at all… At least the bacon was crisp and good… AND, no cilantro, lime and onions for Barbacoa!!! WTF Small @ss tacos, smh
