We ended up being short-changed on our order for the third time… three times in the past few months!!! Ridiculous!!! The customer service has declined in within that same timeframe. Until they fix this, I strongly recommend avoiding this location.

Best underrated Mexican food place. Fluatas are great, chilaquoles are awesome, and the Menudo is the best in the city! Very affordable!

Love their breakfast tacos! It’s on my way to work and I stop here at least a few times every week. Service is always fast and flawless. Used them for catering a few times and have never had any issues.

If I had to give it a star rating, it would just be one star. They do a great job of providing biased service and like to make women uncomfortable. I’m a fan of Las palapas, but after the 2nd occurrence of pedophile behavior with the same gentleman, and no action from security provided from the restaurant, my wife and I have decided the boycott not only this las palapas, but every single Restaurant associated with this name. I will not tolerate sexual harassment of any kind, because I refuse to wait until my wife gets raped in order for some action to be taken.

Usually a pretty great place to go however this time, I found a surprise in my lemonade. A GRASSHOPPER! They informed me that I could get another drink on my next visit, however, when I called back to let them know of the situation I heard laughter in the background while the message was being passed to the manager. Was a little unsettling, luckily I didn’t take a sip! But hey, there’s always other(and cleaner) Mexican restaurants in San Antonio!

It takes a lot for my group of friends to be angry with service seeing as they’re all servers and understand a busy night. But we waited well over 20 min to get our drinks, then had to beg the bus boy to find our waitress to bring them. We then waited another 20 min for food, and of course our order was wrong. Our waitress was attentive to her other tables and mostly ignored us. We were a large group, but stayed respectful of her. It’s not like she was so busy that she couldn’t help us at all. Very rude.

The service is always great and you get the drinks right away. The salsa is homemade and perfectly spiced. Refills came over and over again… that is what I like. Kids meals of Picadillo and cheese enchiladas are my kids favorites. I always get the enchiladas verdes. Wife get the Asada or flauta plate and always great. Plus they serve breakfast all day.

Decided to try this place after seeing so many around SA. I am disappointed in the food. First, the chips and salsa do not have any flavor at all. The salsa was watered down and didn’t even taste like salsa. The chips just had salt all over them. For my order I got the super nachos and it was also disappointing, the beans has not taste and I could tell they were reheated in the microwave along with the beef and everything else. I will not be returning to this location anymore. Too bad I was too excited to try it only to be shit down from my excitement.

No liquor license so that was a disappointment. The food was tasty, as always. I prefer homemade chips but the salsa was good. The waiter was attentive and we were able to get our drinks in cups to take with us. I had the Enchiladas Verdes and wasn’t disappointed. My daughter got a burrito and it was huge.

Came here with coworkers during a lunch break. The service and management was really friendly, but unfortunately the food left much to be desired. There aren’t too many vegan options(ok– no surprise there), so I did appreciate that they were willing to make a customized plate for me. I don’t eat cheese or like soft tortillas, so I requested a crispy taco with the enchilada grilled vegetables. My combo plate had rice only, as their beans are not vegetarian– our waitress Micaela was well informed & readily knew the contents of the food. My taco ended up being VERY oily. Some of the grease was from the grilled veggies, but the taco shell itself was thicker than I like, and had a coat of glistening oil in it. I ended up picking out some of the veggies & just eating that with the rice. The flavor was also not that great. My meal ended up being some greasy squash & zucchini, lettuce, and rice. The salsa was decent, but the chips(while thinner) were stale tasting. It is so hard to find OK food when you work in the middle of the night, & this unfortunately was no exception. 1 extra star for the friendly service only.

Let’s get something straight first. I love Las Palapas… just not this one. Where should I start: Slow service, stale chips with uninspired salsa Lack of air conditioning Almost overwhelming smell of bleach. And all that before the food. And the food Greasy Hard tortillas No refills They did offer to go drinks! So that was cool.

Two skull & crossbones for this place! My EMSC partner and I stopped in for breakfast one Saturday and despite being in uniform, on duty, and drove up in an ambulance, we were denied the 50% discount for EMS personnel they advertise on their menus. The older guy stated that the discount, «is only for SAFD»! Will NEVER go back! And I encourage other emergency response personnel to avoid this place, too! They do not honor their word/advertisement!

I have to take away a star for lack of consistency between shift employees and the sheer rudeness I felt coming from a «I’m here for the paycheck who cares about the customer» type employee. It’s not my fault if you don’t like your job, know the menu, or want to be awake at 5 in the morning. As a customer who just wanted to get a couple tacos and go home to sleep after a long day of work myself I was not happy to pass up mama Margie’s whom I’m never up early/late enough for their potato tacos that they stop serving after breakfast, to stick true to the las palapas crew who usually supplies my early am potato fix. Guess I picked a bad day though with no one in the dining room and 1 other car in the drive thru I don’t feel like they should have been so busy that I was disrespected and rushed through like a problematic child in a busy public place. I ordered my typical 2 potato cheese tacos and big red. My order was over $ 7. What? I politely asked her if she had my order correct, and corrected her that the tacos had no egg in them. I’m told«it’s the same price». No, no it’s not. So I once again imply she has incorrect information and suggest her to find the potato cheese taco button as it’s the same price as the rest and putting in potato and egg adds cheese minus egg was more expensive. She asks if I’ll pull forward and she’ll correct it at the window. After several minutes the car before me pulls away and I pull up to «$ 5 sounds right? what drink did you want again?» After swiping my card I wait another couple minutes, get a drink and bag and a dismissal to leave. I request my receipt, get a «it’s in the bag» and after my apologies for not noticing she all but closed the window in my face. Take away a second star for serving old food to drive thru customers. Half a mile away I realize there was no question or request for my salsa preference and a quick check yielded nothing but tacos and napkins. Good thing I’ve got some left over at home. 2 miles later I’m home, sit down, pull out the foil wrapped food with no trace of warmth to the first and barely Luke warm second taco and sigh. Opening them, they’re oily but cold enough the cheese didn’t even try to melt. Microwave it is. When I have to microwave tacos to exceed room temperature status after less than 3 miles drive from the source of my «fresh made food», I’m reluctant to bother coming back to this location again despite its convenience to my home and just off hwy location. Eating my second taco I bite down on crunchy texture. After opening my taco half the potato pieces are taken out for being so hard and crunchy they hurt my fingers to squeeze them, and after breaking them apart I realize they’re bone dry inside. This is not the first time I’ve come when it’s dead and gotten leftover taco ingredients instead of fresh. I don’t feel this is something I should be required to ask for every time I want an early AM taco. I also shouldn’t be forced into ordering in the lobby to avoid discovering bad food once I’ve already reached home. To review: Overcharged Long drive thru wait with just 1 car Rude mannerisms Old/hard potatoes in my food Not offered or given salsa Ignored/dismissed after food was given

Love Las Palapas, HATE this location. Don’t use the drive thru. I’ve gotten the wrong order, missing tacos and never get extra salsa which I would like when I pay for the damn order of chips and salsa. What ever will I put on my tacos?! It hurts to give this review because again, it’s the best fast Mexican food, but my drive through experience is always terrible and slow. Maybe just needs better management.

Monstrous breakfast tacos served all day every day for $ 1.50. Oh – and endless chips and(legit) salsa. Don’t bother with anything else on the menu(except for maybe their fajita plate, which is also pretty delicious, and queso if you want to mix it up with your chips). Done deal.

Came in at 11:30pm and ordered 3 tacos — 35 minutes later still waiting — meanwhile drivethru seems to be going smoothly Skip it!

It’s quite obvious Las Palapas is competing with Chacho’s down the street. Though their prices are higher, the food is decent. Each time I’ve drove by the drive thru has a line, and the parking lot looks full. Now I know why! The staff is friendly, restrooms are clean, dinning room is kept clean and neat. All in all a great visit! On this, my first visit I ordered 2 fish tacos and yes, the tacos were full but lacked the flavor you expect until I added condiments to it. I’m open minded enough to give 4 stars cuz honestly if all it takes is a dash of salt and salsa to make it a perfect food stop all around, so be it! I’ll be visiting again and trying something different!

How can you beat the lunch special — two cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, salad, all for $ 2.99. Fast service, with genuine friendliness. Clearly some of the folks who were there are regulars, ’cause the server knew what they wanted before they opened their mouths. And — the really good news — they are open 24⁄6 — 24 hours a day, but closed on Sundays. So when I need a late night bite, Las Palapas, here I come. Oh yes, one issue — the parking lot is T I G H T. Take care, my friends, it’s a tight squeeze out there, but the good news is there is more than one exit and at least when I was there everyone was being patient and polite.

I usually come to Las Palapas when I want a breakfast taco but the drive-thru at this particular location sorta sucks. The parking area is too small and sometimes people come from the access road as if they were in the Indy 500. The food is pretty basic Mexican(Tex-Mex) food — after all the times I’ve been here, I have yet to find THEE dish. Oh and one of the guys in the drive-thru likes to call everyone ‘boss’. Nice guy. And apparently we’re all boss… or are we THE boss?
