This place is pretty darn good for a buffet. I usually go for dinner so I usually end up eating a lot of seafood. Salmon, tilapia, fried cod, mussels, boiled shrimp, seafood salad, sushi, crab legs, crawfish. It’s all good. It’s a good place. Service is usually pretty friendly. My only issue is that it’s a bit pricey after a while. I do come here a lot. Lol

They have the hot steamed crab legs, and they were seasoned well, but I think they should not allow them to sit in the hot water for extended periods of time because it makes the meat hard to release from the shell. This is why they lost a star from me. The crawfish were also good too. I would say it’s worth a visit. Thanks to a fellow Unilocaler from San Antonio, Pita, I was able to make the trek without wasting my time for being disappointed. She answered my inquiry about her review via a message and for that, I am forever grateful!

Great place to go if you want a good case of food poisoning! Thanks for ruining my family’s visit here because we had to spend 12 hours in a hospital after staying up the entire night before throwing up.

3 reasons I dine in once a month: cheap, crawfish & crab legs!!! I’m not too pleased with their other dishes because it’s too salty and greasy for my taste. The restaurant is fairly clean. And the staff are attentive and friendly. Comparison to other buffets in San Antonio, GB is my fav.

The food is not fresh, they water down the sauces and the restaurant does not have a good variety whatsoever. No orange chicken or Kung pow chicken. The water they give you is tap water and the food does not have any flavor. The macaroni is not cheesy and the chicken egg rolls and cheese crab puffs were hard to bite into. The stuffed mushrooms tasted horrible and was overpowered with soy sauce. Definitely not worth the price.

Really love this place. Seafood is excellent. I gave it 4 stars because the bathroom wasn’t clean and the lemonade they served tasted like tap water when I last visited. The food is tasty and fresh in general, but some were too salty. Of course, I could have given 5 stars to this place. But what is Unilocal for? Anyway if I have a chance to visit the city I’m eager to come back again.

I love Chinese buffets. This is my first time here. I can say that everything was fresh and delicious. I came for lunch with my son on a Monday. Even though there were a lot of people, there was still ample seating. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The only thing I didn’t care for was the egg roll. Everything else I tried was great. The green beans tasted as if they we just harvested, washed and cooked! Love that! Food was plentiful and hadn’t been sitting there all day. I will definitely be back and bring the rest of my family. This one is second in my list after Chopsticks!

All you can eat crab legs and crawfish after 3:30 for $ 10.95, can’t beat that! Best buffet in San Antonio.

This place is excellent, the crabs legs were cooked just the way i like it with flavor and juicy. Mongolian stir fry was also really good and the waitress was polite.

Grand buffet is on my list of favorite buffets in town. One of my favorite items is crab legs and they are served warm not cold like some other buffets. Also there Mongolian buffet is great as well. They also have some unique peel-able shrimp they’re almost like a Cajun shrimp but they are good.(note: The shrimp do have the heads on so you are having to get the head off then peeling but they’re great tasting) Of course some of the buffet items are typical buffet quality but the food is always fresh. Yes it is a big restaurant and at times can get packed but it is a great place to bring the family to enjoy a Chinese buffet.

Not much to write about. With that being said, I wasn’t pleased with most or any of the food at Grand Buffet. It’s in the same league as Asian Buffet and China Harbor. Everything was just sitting under a lamp and nothing was fresh. Hostess was nice though. I’m never coming back again.

It was a Sunday afternoon and my sister and I were craving some Chinese food. Our parents live on the southeast side of San Antonio and since we weren’t looking to go too far, I decided to pull up Unilocal and find the nearest and cheapest buffet place. There was plenty of parking in the lot even though the lot was full and we had to park closer to the nail salon place. As my sister and I walked in it was very apparent that either church or some kind of mass was done since so many people were dressed up in their Sunday best all waiting to be seated. We waited about 10 minutes before the hostess lady motioned for us to follow her after she grabbed 2 sets of utensils and napkins which I assumed was for us. As we followed her, she motioned for 4 other people to come along. I thought that she was just trying to seat us all but separate tables. As soon as I sat down, she looked at the party she motioned over and told me «Um, no this is for them» and she sat them down. My sister and I looked at each other in confusion and wondering why the heck she motioned us over when she was clearly wanting to seat them. She asked us to go back to the waiting area and she would seat us «in a minute». I didn’t get this for the people she JUSTSATDOWN just got there AND had a bigger party than me and my sister. My sister and I went back to the waiting area and another hostess sat is right away without any confusion. That being said, I don’t if Sunday’s are their busiest days but it was obvious to me, and the crowd all waiting to be seated, that there was no communication or procedure on how to handle a Sunday crowd when it gets full or busy like it did on our visit. Food was decent and there were many many choices. All of the food was HOT, fresh, and dishes kept coming out from the back of the kitchen to be set out since there was so many people there for lunch.
