The sushi here was impeccable! The service was amazing! And the ambience was perfect! This is mine and my boyfriends new favorite sushi place! We had the spicy tuna roll, the Cajun roll, and the widowmaker roll, and they were all spicy, and flavorful!!! Will definitely be coming back!

I’m disappointed. The reviews hyped me up and I had high hopes when I entered the place and it was packed, given it looked unassuming from the outside. The staff was courteous, but seemed to be in a hurry. maybe because it was a Friday? A quick look at the menu left me a bit in shock with the prices, but I don’t mind paying a bit more than usual for sushi if it’s worth it. We ordered the dragon(something) and French rolls. The French one was a big disappointment — — 5 pieces, bland flavor, and dry. The other was tastier, but probably because it was drenched in sauces. It might’ve been because we were starving, but we downed both rolls in 5 minutes. In all, we were left wanting more. I gave this place a shot, but will not return again.

We hadn’t been in a while. We went earlier, right after they opened. This gave us a chance to chat with Goro before the crowds arrived, like they always do. The husband went with his usual, the seafood enchilada. I went with a couple of rolls: Boston roll and the Rainbow roll. We tried the grouper collars as an appetizer. They were interesting. I can’t quite place the spot on the fish they come from though. And they are a lot of work for a little meat. The meat is sweet. All in all an enjoyable meal.

I really wanted to like this place, but it just wasn’t up to par. Everyone was very friendly and it was obvious that there are many regulars that know the staff very well. However, the staff could be inattentive at times and slow. We ordered: –Beef fried rice –Salmon and tuna sashimi –chicken skewers –Gyoza –the eel roll –salmon and tuna roll that is deep fried –spicy tuna roll that is deep fried The beef fried rice was a complete disappointment. The beef was very thin and didn’t seem like high quality beef. It tasted and looked like cheap beef. It also had way too many vegetables that were cut too large. It has mushrooms, bell Peppers of all colors, squash, and peas. There are so many veggies that the veggies overpower the taste of the rice to the point that it reminds me of a Spanish yellow rice. The sashimi was very fresh. Absolutely loved it. The gyoza was also good. The chicken skewers were horrible. They had a Sauce on them but when you but into them the chicken itself was under seasoned and dry. The eel roll was great. The other deep fried rolls were too dry. I’ve had deep fried rolls before but something was missing in these. Perhaps it was bad choices on my part, however, they should create rolls with flavors that are complete. The rolls would have been much better with either a spicy mayo sauce drizzled on top, or lump crab or some other fish on the outside to give it a different texture. My hubby and I won’t be coming back. The fried rice was the deal breaker.

Goro once again KILLEDIT!!! I’m being very bold and saying this but HEHASTHEBESTRAMENFROMSANANTONIOTOAUSTIN!!! Perfectly well balanced, not overwhelming, portioned perfectly, and executed perfection! I’m not boasting him nor exaggerating but he by far exceeded my expectation for ramen in San Antonio. Don’t waste your time with Kimura, Nama Ramen, or any«ramen shop» in town. You might as well just throw your money down the toilet.

This place is a gem! Hubby and I went for our 2nd anniversary and was truly floored! I have now found that I will not go to another buffet or any other restaurant for shrimp fried rice or sushi! Everything was fresh and delicious! Hubby even ate sushi with me for the 1st time and ate his entire roll! We tried Saki for the 1st time as well and let’s just say we got s great lesson on it before we chose. We came home with the rest of the bottle we didn’t finish and its still in the fridge! Lol. Trust and believe that this will be my new spot for Japanese cuisine! If you haven’t made it there yet, u really need to plan to. U won’t be disappointed!
