Erick’s Mexican Restaurant

We were told we HAD to go try Erick’s Tacos as soon as we moved to San Antonio. I looked them up online and noticed they have the taco truck as well as the restaurant next door. I read a food review online that said the owner’s son told them it was the same meat inside the restaurant that they used outside at the truck. I mistakenly took that to mean it was the same menu… it’s not. The menu in the restaurant is huge. Lots and lots of items to choose from.
We had the beef fajitas and they were delicious. The beans on the side were also very tasty. The chips and salsa are good, although the salsa is very watery. I had to take one star off because of service. There were three waitresses working and two of them were really moving, taking care of their customers. The third one (ours) not so much. She forgot our tortillas, didn’t come back to see if everything was alright, moved very slowly, and generally looked like she didn’t want to be there. Fortunately, the other two were jumping in to make up for it. They brought our food out to us and later asked if we needed anything else.
The food was good enough to go back, but I think I’ll hit the food truck next time and get the tacos that everyone raves about.

I love the Torta ahogada, it is sooo good. I have also tried the chicken falutas, enchiladas verdes and the milanesa before. You must try it.
