Found this place by looking on Unilocal.Worth coming to try! I came from Houston for the weekend. At first I thought $ 6 was a little pricey for a cheese burger, but when I tasted the burger, it was worth every penny spent! Their buns are buttered and fresh, and the hamburger meat just falls apart in your mouth which I like. The area it is in is neat, other food trucks with picnic tables and a bar, perfect for having mimosas with my burger! 10⁄10 would come again and recommend to my friends.

The burger was more like a buddy cooking on the grill for camping or a tailgate. Nothing special, but better than fast food. The fries are skinny, over sales, and slightly over cooked but still delicious. We got the Cajun fries, which were regular fries with buffalo sauce on top. Good if you’re craving a burger quick, but not my favorite.

What a disappointment. I feel like Unilocal has been letting me down lately. I cannot fathom all the 5-star reviews for a burger that looks and tastes like an above average tailgate burger. The buns and beef patties on these burgers look like the kind you can buy at the local grocery store. The«Cajun» fries didn’t taste Cajun at all. I don’t think they even had any Cajun seasoning on them. They were just super-crispy shoestring fries with buffalo sauce tossed on top. Verdict: There are much better burgers that can be had at this price-point. Save your money.

Tried this food truck while on vacation in San Antonio. The OG burger was awesome, like a way better quality whataburger. The fries were perfectly thin and crispy, not burned at all. My only tiny complaint was that the burger had a lot of mustard and no ketchup. Very minor issue. Extremely nice workers and delicious food.

EVERYTHING is delicious. Hand cuts fries, perfectly spiced and good cuts meat, home made sauces, all their food is full of flavor and sure to put you in a food coma. I recommend the Cajun fries and turkey caprese sand which. Also their gumbo!

Got the one with the Krispy Kreme bun, gotta give em 5 stars just for satisfying my brief gluttonous urge.

Pretty good, definitely better than whataburger. I just got a plain hamburger with ketchup, and I thought it was delicious. The meat was juicy and tender, not hard and dry like a lot of burgers tend to be. My boyfriend got the Hot Carl and would not stop talking about it all night. The fries are pretty good. I would have given it five stars but half of my fries were kind of mushy, felt not fully cooked. The ones that were crispy were fantastic and there was practically no grease. We will definitely be going back. Too bad they don’t have fried pickles…

I visited Crazy Carl’s on a weekend after reading all of the five star reviews. I hate to be the only person who didn’t love it but, I don’t love their burgers and just found it okay. I would compare the burger to a whataburger. It was on a plain, store bought hamburger bun, mustard, onion, lettuce and tomato were added and I ordered cheese. The meat was the best part but, I honestly felt like I was trying a new angus beef whataburger or something of that nature. My fries were thin, overcooked and tasted burnt. I may try this food truck again but, I’m in no hurry to do so. I’m disapointed that I didn’t enjoy my meal as I had high hopes for finding a great burger joint near my house.

We drove out to the Pointe on a Saturday night. Parking was limited, but we made it work. My husband ordered the burger on a donut, smoked chicken wings, and French fries. He enjoyed the salty, sweet of the burger. The chicken wings were delicious(and not very messy) and my daughter enjoyed the fries. I would definitely like to try this truck again!

Originally went there to try the donut burger but we apparently arrived late cause they were out of donuts. So I had the turkey caprese and it was the most delicious turkey sandwich I have ever had. Very pleased with the food and the service. I will have to go there earlier to try the donut burger.

Hot Damn! Just finished the Hot Carl with bacon and jalopenos. One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. I only wish it was a little bigger. I’m stuck between not wanting to lose that taste in my mouth and needing to eat more food! Lol guess I’ll be getting a double meat next time.

5 stars across the board couldn’t be more appropriate! The Crazy Carl’s team possesses the trifecta of any burger establishment, in my opinion. 1) Perfectly seasoned beef that is just the right thickness(thanks to the griddle smashing) and generous portions of melted cheese that makes you wonder why anyone would eat a burger without it. 2) Fries that come out piping out, crispy, and overflowing from the edges of the basket. 3) A team with the most charming smiles and friendly attitudes across the board. You know how usually there’s at least one dud? Not here, they’re like the happiest burger slingers you’ll ever encounter. After venturing to try the pulled pork sliders with apple slaw, I knew I had to give five stars. Not only can they do the simple straight-up burger justice, but they’ve got some more creative menu items(like the sliders) if you’re feeling frisky. Not to mention, they’ve almost always got a really generous Unilocal Check-In offer up that sweetens the deal event more!

Who in the hell is Carl? Does anyone know? Does anyone care? Does Carl(not you Carl C.) even exist? What made him so crazy? Why am I going on with all of these questions instead of typing my review? Sorry about that everyone. Not sure what happened there. I guess I just have too many questions about one of the best food trucks in San Antonio. Sure I know they have amazing burgers, pulled pork sliders, caprise sandwhiches and double fried french fries but I don’t know why 2 friends named Andrew and Shane opened a food truck and called it Crazy Carls. Why not Crazy Shanes or Crazy Andrews? Or maybe even Awesome Andrew’s or Sweet Shanes? I guess it doesn’t really matter who Carl is or why they named their business after him. What does matter is the burgers that they turn out. You basically have 3 choices for your beef. A single 5 oz patty, double 25oz patties, bothe the single and the double are available with cheese, come with lettuce, onion, tomatoes etc…), the real deal here though, and your 3rd beef option, is «Carls Monster» 25 oz pattiues sandwiched over pulled brisket, 2 slices of cheese, ranch sauce, and, I think there is a few french fries on there too. I have suggestions for the monster. 1. Make sure you are HUNGRY when you order it. It is roughly the size of your head. 2. Once you get a grip on it DONOT put it back down. You will never be able to pick it back up. 3. Don’t lift it more than an inch from the plate. It is not a clean eating burger. Stuff will fall out of it, and onto your shirt if you are not careful. Crazy Carl’s isn’t just a burger truck though. They also have sweet and spicy pulled pork sliders, a turkey caprise sandwich and during lent(personally I think it should be a permanent menu item) grilled mahi tacos. Oh, and in caser you didn’t know, the Cookikng Channels show Eat St. was just in town filming them and a few other trucks for the next season. Go find these guys before they get famous! Follow them on Twitter @Crazy_Carls_SA Like them on Facebook Check in and review them on Unilocal

Stopped by the Point on Labor Day and was delighted to try the Turkey Caprese sandwich. It was crazy fresh. But I found $ 8.00 a little steep for the size of the sandwich. I’m not advocating a bigger sandwich, it was just right, but more in the $ 5-$ 6 range. I’m new to food trucks, so maybe I’m being stingy.

The guys at Crazy Carl’s do a wonderful job both before and after the meal. We sampled the Brisket Burger, Turkey Caprese Sandwich and the fries. Brisket Burger: Carl’s mixes the chopped brisket with all the droppings from the cooking process, onions and other goodness to form a rich and slightly tangy sandwich. You can add jalapeño ranch sauce which I skipped. The sauce is a KC style — less ketchup and more smoke and tang. Good stuff. This burger will get you through several days in the wilderness without feeling hungry. Turkey Caprese — This was a real surprise. The turkey is very fresh — smoked/grilled by the guys in trailer and the pesto is homemade as well. It is served on a rich bread with mozzarella cheese and a few other flavors. It is the lighter fare out of the many offerings and if you don’t want turkey, consider adding all this to a burger. The fries: My, my. Imagine a Mcdonalds size fry but with a wonderful salty/seasoned taste and double dipped. They are crunchy, plentiful and just lovely. Try them dipped in the BBQ sauce for an extra little kick. Overall, the prices are great, the food delicious and service very good. This is a guaranteed winner!

Had my first sandwich here today, during the summer Food Truck Throwdown 2013, and it was delightful. I got the fried turkey caprese, and I loved it. Both with the bread and without. The service was fast and friendly. They got me to laugh. The food was amazing, and they definitely got my vote for the Throwndown this year, as well. Everyone should consider checking them out when and where possible.

Hands down best pulled pork slider I’ve had in years! We were blown away by the simple but amazingly executed menu. The staff was way awesome, and even let us put our beer in their cooler. A must try for spice seekers!!! We love you Crazy Carls ;-)

Crazy Carls, I am so sorry to leave you hanging and not review you sooner. I’ve tried this place a handful of times and have always left feeling impressed. Currently, you can find them out at the Boardwalk on Bulverde from Thursday to Saturday and then at The Point on Sundays. Firstly, the two couples that work in the truck are fantastic. They are so friendly and accommodating. They will definitely have you smiling. Secondly, their food is to die for. We’ve tried everything on their menu from the roast turkey caprese sandwich to the classic cheeseburger. And don’t even get me started on the fries. They are by far some of the best fries I’ve had in a while. I love the crispiness and they’re perfectly seasoned. I can be pretty picky and asked for a variety of condiments to be left off of my cheeseburger, everything came out exactly how I ordered it and I was totally impressed. All-in-all, if you’re looking for a food truck that is serving up some good quality food and friendly people — you need to check out Crazy Carls. You will not be disappointed! :)
