Nothing great for the price! I realize it’s a resort and prices are jacked through the roof BUT — the best I can say is it’s just not good! I ate there today for my 4th time and it’s just less than mediocre! I was forced pretty much to choose a meal option today for $ 19 and for $ 19 I ate — a few pieces of pineapple, an English muffin, and half of a bagel and that’s just bc I forced myself to find SOMETHINg! Last night we are here and we ordered shrimp and grits — tasted like I heated it up from frozen state in the micro! Absolutely a disappointment for the cost— the unfortunate thing is that it’s he less expensive place in h resort —and the food tastes less expensive even tho you’re paying gourmet prices

Meal was descent. Very busy place, I recommend making a reservation. Service was attentive.

The food is good, but the service is sub-par. For dinner, they neglected to pack up half of our leftovers, and for lunch our waiter, Jose, was flat rude. While management bent over backwards to make things right, and comped the meal, it was not an enjoyable eating experience.

Waited for 1 ½ hrs. to be seated and everything in the buffet is cold, hard and dry. Not recommending the buffet. Ask for al la carte maybe it’s better. Cannot believe they serve food like this at JW Marriott resort very poor quality.

Ate here for lunch twice while staying at the hotel. The biscuits are just so delicious and addict! Be careful not to eat too many. The beet salad was really good… I got mine with chicken.

Not your average hotel restaurant. Service was good. Food was great. Perfect to grab a lunch during a busy conference or to grab dinner with a group. The bone-in ribeye and cheeseburger were both great.

We ate at Cibolo Moon for dinner on New Years Eve and for brunch on the 1st. Both meals were good, above what you’d expect from a buffet, but still not as good as a full-service menu restaurant. The dinner buffet had king crab and oysters, which was a welcome surprise. The desserts were pretty good and everyone seemed to enjoy the meal. The brunch was nice, with a very good omelette station and loads of options. I’d like to give this place a 5, but I hesitate to give a buffet a perfect rating. If you are staying at the JW and you don’t want to leave for dinner, Cibolo Moon is a great option.

We came here and even though the waitress was nice, she charged us for things we didn’t even order. It wasn’t just one or two things, it was four things we didn’t order… Make sure you double check your itemized bill! She also failed to tell us that there was already an 18% gratuity on our bill which she conveniently folded under so we couldn’t see it. So we gave 40% tip which she said nothing about. Sneaky and evil at the same time. Seems like the people just want your money here in any way they can trick you into it. Pretty horrible if you ask me. We have stayed at many JW’s and this restaurant doesn’t do a good job in representing what the JW should be. The food: super salty. I mean like a brick of salt. Calm down cooks with the salt! There is salt at the table… People can always add more if they want it. We got mixed veggies as one of our sides and they looked like leftovers. We got the ribs and they were very hard to chew and basically had no seasoning. We got fish and I told them I was going to share the one plate with someone else. We were charged and extra seven dollars for them to split the plate that I didn’t even ask them to do… ??? Seriously? Even if I had asked to split a plate, what place charges $ 7 for an extra plate??? We got a wedged salad and this must be like the cheapest thing to make… it came with almost nothing on top. We were going to go for the buffet, but we saw their plates that had food and there was rust! That’s messed up. I know it’s hotel food but really? If you are going to charge that much it should be just a little good and with honest people. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. If your hungry at the hotel, go somewhere else to eat.

I was staying at JW Marriott and one of our company dinners was here. The burnt ends appetizer was delicious and amazing. Perfect taste and crisp. I ordered the burger which had brisket and bacon and a fried egg. I know it sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen but if you are having a cheat day might as well do it right! That burger was hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I only wish I could’ve eaten it all. It was enormous go for two people. Hats of the chef here. I had the cheese grits for a side. They were good but I’ve had better. It’s was more cheesy than gritty, but wouldn’t knock the experience a star for it.

I loved the breakfast here. It had a wide variety(fresh fruit, cereal, pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, omelets, yogurt etc.). For lunch, the corn pablano chowder soup was out of this world amazing. Everything else was decent but not good enough to especially stand out. The staff could be more attentive. I remember one of the mornings I was sitting outside on the patio, I made it almost fully thru breakfast before anyone even approached me and asked me if I would like something to drink when there were no drinks or glasses sitting anywhere near me.

I went there for breakfast and the food was great. They had a pretty standard buffet with quality food. The atmosphere was what I would describe as comfortable.

How can a restaurant that is so amazing at breakfast be so terrible at dinner? The breakfast buffet is definitely their specialty. It has a fantastic selection of fruit and other goodies. You can even top your waffles with whipped whiskey butter and glazed pecans. They make a great omelet and the rest of items on the buffet are equally as delicious. The coffee is nice & strong! Breakfast gets 5 stars We expected the same out of dinner but it ended up being a step up from Furr’s cafeteria. Just a mediocre buffet with more mediocre items on the menu. After eating at 18 Oaks the night before this restaurant seemed even worse. Dinner at Cibolo Moon gets 1 star.

After celebrating 18 years in the United States Armed Forces I decided to culminate my weekend with a tasty Brunch at the Beautiful JW Marriot’s Cibolo Moon. The restaurant is located downstairs in the resort, so avoid the directions on Google Maps as you’ll end up two miles out of your way down a lonely dirt road. I squeezed in right before 2:00 pm as the staff began putting food away. The floor manager greeted me and was very accommodating. She had the staff keep the omelette station open and had a waiter help me cart over plates of fruit, pastries, and waffles to my table. I was overwhelmed with the fruit, eggs, seasoned potatoes, meat selections, waffles, pancakes, crescents, muffins and cheese assortments. I went in with determination to eat a little of everything but three plates in I knew I was about to hit my tummy wall. The plate of watermelon continued to call my name as I talked my tummy into a few more bites. My server Jessica was outstanding, she kept my lemonade glass full and as she saw the button about to pop off my skirt politely offered me a to go box to stuff my remaining goodies into and offered a to go lemonade with homemade biscuits and jam. For a mere $ 24.95 and $ 5.00 to valet I’d say this brunch was worth every penny. After a thorough nap to let my food digest and a good gym workout my weekend ended on a high note. This establishment is definitely on the return list and bookmarked as a favorite. I highly recommend and suggest you come early. Ms. Foodie ~

Have been to this place a couple of times now, both decent. The breakfast buffet was pretty good but also pretty expensive. Not sure that I can swallow a $ 100 tab for breakfast for 4. We are not even big breakfast eaters, so not sure that the buffet was the best of options. However, had dinner and our table ate off both the BBQ buffet and the regular dinner menu. The filet mignon was pretty tasty along with the sides, also the BBQ buffet had good selections but the BBQ sauce was tangy and not something that I would repeat again. The only clincher was the hair inside of our daughter’s hamburger. We didn’t make a big deal and they brought her a new one so at least the service was good. However, no comps just a sorry. Overall, its in a very nice setting whether you sit inside or out. However, being one of two three restaurants onsite its not like they don’t have any edge over other places in the area. No need to shy away just be sure to look out for the random hairs, lol.

I was less than impressed. Considering they are located within a JW Marriott I expected much more in terms of service. There weren’t many in the restaurant at the time we were there so there really wasn’t any excuse for our sitting 15 minutes waiting to order. There wasn’t even anyone around to flag down. The food was good but our service experience wasn’t great.

We had excellent service our waiter Luis was so nice and the food was superb! They started us off with mini biscuits and jam — yumminess! We ordered the guagamole appetizer it was amazing, very big portion. I had the chicken fried steak and my husband had the ribeye steak and baked potato. I tried his and it was very tender and tasty– my plate was excellent as well. I could have split my plate with my hubby … We skipped on dessert we were very full. All in all very good and I recommend– yea it was kinda pricey but it was good and the ambiance was good. I had my toddler with us and she just ate off my plate too. They were very accommodating with me have a little one which is a huge big thumbs up!

Nice décor. Nice food. Nice hostess. Nice server. Prices not so nice… $ 12 for Jack and coke. $ 10 for Goose. $ 14 for 3 bacon wrapped scallops. $ 15 for salad with crab. $ 20 for chicken and waffles. The food was good, but I don’t know about THATGOOD. I hate to say it, but here goes. You are held hostage at the JW so you are pretty much going to pay what they ask. :D

Dined here for breakfast twice and dinner once since I stayed at the JW Marriott for a 3 day weekend. The décor is modern and chic and there’s the bar that stocks a large variety of specialty tequilas. We arrived early for breakfast BC we had a tee time at 8:30am and the breakfast buffet was in full swing. Included was a made to order omelette station that even contained brisket as a choice. In addition to regular buffet items, it included incredible sticky buns and jalapeño & cheese biscuits with condiments such as bomb strawberry jalapeño jam, Texas honey and a variety of specialty salsa. For dinner appetizer we tried the tequila shrimp with tortillas — yummy. I enjoyed the thick bone in ribeye steak with a huge loaded baked potato and sides of Mac & cheese & green beans & tomatoes. Everything was delicious. Of course dessert was on my radar and we selected the strawberry shortcake & side of blueberry ice cream. Needless to say, the dessert was nothing short of incredible! The service was spot on and friendly by the entire staff! BTW I kicked back outside after dinner on the patio around the fire pit and enjoyed a cigar and glass of cognac. A perfect way end a awesome day at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa.
