From the bartender to the sause… it was good! I love the food topped with politeness acrosss the bar. Every thing was nice and neat, and even the pretty pina coloda as my treat, so sweet! Going back again — besides the food — it is just a fun place to be.

The food is amazing and the salsa is some of the best on the planet. The service was great considering it was New Year’s Eve. Everything was fantastic.

Came in starving after holiday shopping, restaraunts was hopping at 8:30 on Sunday night. but my request for a quiet spot was quickly accommodated and landed me in a nice corner booth. Was hungry for queso and a crispy taco — but was dining alone so the $ 6.50 queso would have been too much. Figured I’d just get a crispy plate — but didn’t really want the rice and beans. Imagine my surprise to find«my plate» on the menu under lighter plates — the #8 — a crispy beef with a side of queso and guacamole. PERFECT!!! AND same price as appetizer queso — $ 6.50 :) Perfect for smaller appetites or calorie watchers like me. handmade shell with tasty filling and fresh tomatoes, lettuce & cheese. filling advertised as ground sirloin — it was flavorful and not greasy. Simple but good. Queso was spicy and the right consistency — not your plain Jane queso. I did think it was a tad salty — but could have been me. Guac had right amount of onion and garlic. Ask for one of chuy’s pillow soft homemade tortillas and make yourself a guacamole taco. Service was fast and friendly.

Always a struggle to decide what to order: Boom-Boom Enchiladas, Elvis Presley Memorial, or the Steak Burrito. A very good problem to have. But the Hatch Beef Tacos on are always the best choice on a Wednesday. Add happy hour, queso, and a lovely outdoor patio and you get arguably the best casual restaurant in San Antonio.

We have been here several times(my wife loves the boom boom sauce). The food is consistently good. Honestly, I would say the service is usually subpar. I Think it’s more of a function of the restaurant being understaffed then the waitstaff themselves. One standout waiter we did have was Derek, he was extremely attentive.

Tex-Mex for Gringos: soft and crispy tacos, margaritas and micheladas, and massive burritos. They offer a decent HH and their creamy jalapeño ranch makes the salads pretty craveable, but the salsas aren’t spicy and the cheese is really low quality. The interior is a mess of Texas and Mexico knickknacks, license plates, vintage photos, and such– it’s an entertaining place to take kids, very family-friendly, but not really what I’d call good quality food. This place is a hit among the middle school crowd, let’s put it that way.

I know this is a chain but they do know what they are doing here. My only complaints have been about the crowds, and it gets cold in there, in the summer. Staff is excellent, food is exactly what you would expect in a Tex/Cali Mex restaurant. Oh, and those drinks!!!

I’m sitting at the bar since I am here by myself. Service was extremely fast and friendly. The bean and cheese burrito was served in roughly 5 minutes from ordering and delicious. The only downside was that I watched the bartender reach her hand into a jar of olives to grab a handful right after handling the bar rag. That’s one of those things that creeps me out. I’m hoping it was one of those one time things that she did before thinking about it. On a more positive note the employees were working hard and seemed to enjoy their job.

Seriously not a fan. I’ve gone numerous times and tbh the food tastes like it’s from a can. Always great staff and clean restaurant.

Mild, cafeteria style bland tex mex. taco cabana is way better for half the price! Seriously go to Luby’s for better service Mexican food. All of us felt sick after for hours. Might as well put ketchup on a tortilla and microwave it if you’re looking for an enchilada. It’s awful.

Great food and great service. I always come in and ask for maynor. He is the best server I have ever had. When he is not here I will be sitting at the bar with celeste. She is so friendly and always getting everything I want with a smile. She makes me feel like she loves what she does.

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Hopefully they will never go downhill! The food is awesome and the people are great! Every time I go to San Antonio I will go out of my way to eat here. It’s only a little over six hour drive from where I currently live and I would almost make the drive just to eat here!

No fly zone The kind of place that looks great from the highway Even better when you walk in the door Smells great looks good… But when food arrives and you dive in it’s like you jumped into a cold stream Taste frigidly poor over salted and sauced Better than on the border but this is suppose to be Austin best Tex Mex A case of franchisites the disease of mediocrity after you try to go up town and cover the globe with your local fare

OH! MY! GOODNESS! I’ve been in San Antonio almost 10 years, and we finally stopped saying«We should check that place out sometime.» SO glad we did! After this first visit, we are now bringing any family from out of town here when they visit and want Tex-Mex food! Typical wait for Friday night dinner hour. The staff all look like they ENJOY being there, and we even saw a table of people that are employees, eating there on their day off. Our waiter, Robert, has been there 9 years, and was not only friendly, but cared about our experience. He even waited until we weren’t chewing before asking how our food was. The food was great, including the fresh chips and salsa. AND… on top of all that… you can watch them MAKE the tortillas in a special area in the middle of the restaurant. THAT is FRESH! We will be back!

This is our weekly Friday night dinner date. Happy hour ends at 7, so you want to get there before then. The drink specials are fantastic! You may have to wait a little bit especially on a Friday or Saturday night, but they have this great seating area in front of the bar where you can order drinks and eat some free nachos(or order an appetizer which is what we usually do) while waiting for your table. The food is great! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The flour tortillas are made fresh. You can see the ladies making them right there in the restaurant. We usually order enchiladas or taco salad, but the fajitas are tasty as well. I ask for my enchiladas to be made with flour tortillas which they gladly accommodate. The atmosphere is good too. Kids of all ages are very welcome. And finally the dessert, YUM!!! I love the tres leches. But the sopapillas and flan are excellent too. I guess it’s kind of hard to go wrong with dessert. But seriously, I would stop by just to order the tres leches to go. I wouldn’t recommend that. It just doesn’t taste the same outside of the restaurant. Not sure why, but take my advice. Eat it there! I guess the only negative would be… well, I can’t really think of one. Maybe the waiting for a table which really goes by quickly, and on Friday and Saturday nights pretty much all good restaurants are like that. I’m not sure if they take reservations because we’ve never tried that. Usually we don’t wait too long for a table especially since it’s just the two of us.

Ok, ok I know no one will believe this but we have tried a few Mexican restaurants since moving here, I know this place is a chain and we live in south Texas but man you can’t go wrong it’s solid every time. Food is great service is great. Try the Saturday special macho burrito you can only get on Saturday but damn it’s good!

My kids don’t like but I do. The food is different, not Tex Mex and not even Mexican food but it looks like Mexican food. I guess it a fusion of white Mexican and Mexican if you know what I mean. Anyway I am Mexican and I know what i mean. Try the pork pulled tacos, you won’t be disappointed.

Had a yummy lunch at Chuy’s today. I always enjoy this place very much. I would’ve given it 5 stars but, the waiter wasn’t the greatest. Our waiter was very shaky. Every time he went to refill a drink he spilled it. He even spilled the chips all over the table when refilling those as well. I’m not exactly sure why he was so shaky. I can t help but think maybe too much fun the night before. I’ll be back, still a loyal customer.

Visiting from Houston, we love this place at home. In spite of this place being PACKED on a Saturday night and being quoted a 30−40minute wait for a table, we got seated sharpish. Tiffany was an excellent server, attentive and efficient. The food was delicious and quick and the atmosphere was great. If you need somewhere to eat in san antonio, go here, wayyyyyyy better than the tourist traps on the River Walk — and almost just as interesting
