ERRRRRMMAAAAGEERRRRRDDD! I have totally been deprived of chicken goodness at Bush’s Chicken! Came here this evening to have some good chicken tenders with some sweet tea(because sweet tea is a Texan thing especially with chicken) with a side of fries. When I bit into it I was in chicken heaven! I also ordered a side of mac n cheese, it was ok but I’m thinking about trying different sides from the menu. Not too greasy and a good crunch. And the sweet tea?! It’s BOOMPOW! They also give free refills too! I have found my new chicken place! Forget Church’s, KFC, Raising Caines Bush’s Chicken is here to dominate San Antonio! There’s a reason former San Antonio Spurs basketball player George Hill says this is his go to place for chicken. They don’t play! Friendly staff and clean restaurant you bet I’m coming back here! Here’s a tip: add the seasoned salt to your chicken tenders and fries to add more of a kick. I wish I had taken a picture of my food but I was so hungry that showing a picture of an empty plate wouldn’t have helped.

I ordered my food in the drive-thru, and when I got home, half of my order was missing. I called back to the store, to let them know so I could come back and get the rest of my order. I spoke to Matt, who took my order, and he started to argue with me that I did receive the full order. I told him I had the bag, but only half of my order was in it. He actually continued to argue with me, basically calling me a liar. I have never had such horrible service. I will never return to this location. The store on Bandera has always provided great service.

Food was OK, about what you would expect. The reason for the low review: I ordered a family meal for dine in along with three cups of water and they charged me 25 cents per cup. Give me a break.

I am usually the first one to hop in the car and drive across the city to some mom and pop restaurant for fried chicken(or anything, really). But I gotta say with the chicken I’ve had from this chain, it’s not truly necessary. I’m a big fan of this fried chicken — it’s got great flavor, crispy exterior, moist interior — it’s just awesome. The sides are a little hit and miss for me. I like the mac n cheese, the green beans and mashed potatoes. Coleslaw is a little bland. French fries a little soggy — they seem like they probably come from a huge bag in the freezer. I don’t care for the okra at all but I usually don’t like fried okra. Can’t close this out until I mention the iced tea. Which is killer. We stop by sometimes just to pick up a gallon of tea. Of course I’ll still drive across town to get fried chicken — variety is the spice of life, after all. But it’s nice to know there’s excellent fried chicken close by — with a drive thru, no less.

Everytime we pull into the drive thru at this location we are overlooked! They love helpn others before they help us! Service was good and all is hot and fresh!

I came for dinner on Friday night just to try out the chicken tenders. They were surprisingly very good. I liked the batter and the chicken tasted freshly fried. The cashier taking my order was nice, and a couple times during dinner staff came by to ask me if I was doing OK. Small service bonuses are nice details in fast food restaurants. The side I chose was mashed potatoes, and it tasted like the regular fast food ones. Everything came with gravy, which was perfect — not too watery, not too thick. The bread was soft and warm. They also give you super tall, huge drinks similar to the Whataburger size. I really liked the different dips they have available on the table: hot sauce, ketchup, honey. It really beats opening this tiny package like most places and makes you feel«at home». Of course, it’s probably less hygienic since its in a refillable bottle, but whatever! I would definitely go again and recommend. They serve food on a cheap looking foam plate, but for some reason it makes me feel like I’m at fried chicken picnic. Just don’t bring high expectations of gourmet fried chicken eating and you won’t be disappointed.

Consistent food and service. This is where we go from the office when we want to fall off our diets. The sprinkle seasoning makes the whole meal!

This would be the first time I’ve tried Bush’s Chicken and it definitely will not be the last. I’m not sure how long they have been in the San Antonio area since I have recently moved back from out of town. I’m familiar with a lot of the other fried chicken restaurants in town and this has got to be by far my favorite out of all them. Chicken was great filling and the sides topped off the meal. I recommend this place to any chicken lovers out there or anyone looking for a quick but excellent dinner/lunch idea. Don’t forget to try the tea!

[I’m not sure if they moved since I’m not familiar with San Antonio but the address on my receipt is 10602 Huebner Rd] The guy taking our order at the drive thru here seemed real nice and efficient. When we mentioned that it was our first time in San Antonio he even added extra chicken tenders. I really liked the spicy poppers which I got with a 2 piece deal. The chicken was good with a light-medium thick skin crust. Flavor-wise it was just good but not my one of my favorites and reminded me of Church’s Chicken(which I also like)

Not all fried chicken is created equal. This however, is one of my favorite fast food fried chicken stops in San Antonio. Say that 5 times fast. The chicken is a little greasy on the inside but not too much and the skin is perfectly crunchy and flavorful. They have a number of side options that I love like the fries which are crinkle cut and the okra and corn are good as well. I’m not a big fan of their mac and cheese though, too creamy. I know I will be thrown out of my beloved Texas for saying I don’t like creamy mac and cheese but in order to save my ass I should point out their tea is excellent. Seriously the best tea I’ve ever had and I always buy a gallon when I drive through so I can take it home with me. *Tip: Get the half and half tea, seriously the sweet tea is like sugar with tea added. The gravy is phenomenal and I didn’t start liking gravy until recently, again I know, another strike against me but I like it now so I am admitting it out of guilt! Service is always speedy and the«drive through» is different. No box to order from you are actually talking to the employees who walk up to your car which is pretty cool. All in all it’s a great place, but there’s something about it that leaves you wanting.(Like the Chinese food«full» feeling). Therefore I give it a four star review.

This location is sparkling clean, but it appears it’s also recently opened. I received my order relatively quickly, and the employees are all courteous here. I love Texas/Southern hospitality. Bathrooms are also clean here.

Food/Taste: B I’ve been to this location twice now and both times I had gizzards with fried okra. The gizzards are usually made fresh and taste wonderful and the fried okra is another not-so-common side so it’s usually made fresh as well and tastes just as good. It came with a roll which was made just right — not too floury and soft. Order Accuracy: B Although the order contents were accurate, the car hop incorrectly included the wrong condiments. Selection: B For a fast-food restaurant, the menu is a little limited compared to competitors like Popeyes, Church’s and KFC. Service: A Both times I’ve been to this location there has been very little wait time — most of the actual waiting I’m doing is because my food items are being made fresh and I am perfectly okay with that. The car hops are as cordial as you could be in that scenario and I’ve never had a bad experience, customer-service-wise. Price: A I average around $ 7 – 8 here for a meal and that will last me two days(or two meals) easily.

I have long been a fan of Bush’s chicken and today was no exception. The two and a half managers at this new location however need to drag themselves away from their friends and focus on customer standing in line. I certainly hope it improves at this new location.

Don’t expect to get what you think you ordered. Twice now, my wife has gone through the drive up window, and asked to verify the contents. They told her we had everything. When she came home, we were missing several items.

Yikes! The chicken tenders are very salty, don’t go if you have heart problems and if you don’t like food overloaded in salt of course! The gravy and fries are the only stuff right in the salt amount inside!

Good chicken! This location is brand spanking new so of course it’s clean as a whistle. And as usual, service was out of this world. What other fast food joint allows you to sit through your entire meal without having to move a finger, not even for a refill? Refills were provided by a friendly employee — they continuously checked on us to make sure we were OK, but not in an overbearing manner. They even cleared our table of empty plates. Sweet! Just like their tea :) Their sides are pretty mediocre, with their mashed potatoes having the consistency of instant ones and their fries being limp. But that chicken of theirs sure makes up for all of that. And their soft, buttery rolls too, smothered in honey that they conveniently provide on the table! Instead of their«serendipity salt» I like to sneak in a packet of Popeye’s Cajun sparkle and sprinkle that deliciousness all over my chicken. Wowza! So, if you’re hankering for some good fried chicken, skip Bill Miller’s and go to Bush’s instead. I think you’ll like it!

Just ate the first meal at this new location and it was awesome. The chicken tenders were perfect as usual. The inside was tender and juicy, but not greasy, and the breading was flaky and crunchy. The okra was equally balanced between tender and crispy. Sometimes the rolls can be a bit dry, but that was not the case this time. They were fluffy and soft. The staff was very friendly.
