Well that place freaking rocked. I was immediately at home going inside with the padre island themed décor. Their menu is varied, from hamburgers to seafood to tradish texmex. I just wanted a random mexican restaurant for some cheese enchiladas, so I just dropped in by chance for that. Instead I discovered their shrimp enchilada plate. Freaking delish. The main reason I want to go back is you can tell that the cook actually gives a sh*t, my plate was laid out with a visual style I am unaccustomed to for a $ 9 dollar meal. They even let me try one of their deep fried frog legs which was also presented a la cart on a plate with garnishings. It was freaking delish. Anyways, I’m definitely going back often to try out all their other stuff.

I’ll let you in on a little secret: come here instead of Magnolia Pancake Haus, or if you have buddy or number of buddies who just HAVE to play the 2 hour waiting game for a decent at best pancake plate, then come here while yall wait. We found this place the very first time we were told the wait for what would later be mediocre waffles at Magnolia would be 75 minutes. The hangovers were fierce that day and trying to find anything else on a Sunday at 10AM seemed daunting. It was as if the gates of heaven opened and the angels did that harpy«ahhhhhhhhahhhhhhh» call as we looked leftward on a little place where the sun was beaming: Señor Camaron. Take note of the oyster shells littering the ground as you walk there. The inside is Key West tacky, maybe Key Largo(just a touch tackier). They have delicious micheladas that they’ll spice up or down according to your tastes, really good ceviche on tostadas, super fresh quesadillas, shrimp cocktails(we could never find our way to the bottom of a large, but polished off a regular pretty quickly.) I would recommend asking for your michelada in a glass glass, we were once served them in these clay vase urn things and mine had a stale/sitting water taste to it. Otherwise, enjoy!

Never get a burger here. I ordered the«panco villa» burger which is suppose to come with refried bean, avocado, and bacon. They just gave me a plain burger with with one strip of bacon, some random mustard and a sliver of old brown avocado. When I told the waitress that it wasn’t what I order she quickly said«I’ll get your beans» Then I saw her grab a cup of beans and microwave them. And set them on the table. This place is a joke.

Wanted to try a hole in the wall seafood restaurant and found this restaurant on Unilocal.Small place, about 12 – 14 tables with limited parking. The atmosphere is pretty cool with paintings throughout the restaurant. Chips and salsa were served right away, only recommendation is to warm up the salsa before serving. Ordered a dozen oysters and a combo plate which was served with rice, fries and a salad. Overall it was a decent meal, the shrimp was very flavorful while the fish filet had an… odd taste. I would recommend sitting out on the patio to chill, drink a beer and eat some ceviche.

We went there for dinner and the food was not good! I had a stuffed pablano pepper and it had nothing but nasty tasting cheese in it. I was looking for Tic-tacs for an hour afterward. I had a sangria and it was lukewarm. My husband had a fried seafood platter and it was below average. They had a huge screen in the room(no way to avoid it) that was playing very raunchy music videos. I would hate to have taken small children there. One woman with a small boy came in and was waiting to be seated, saw what was playing on the screen and walked back out.

The plate and food of one of my co-worker’s smelled /tasted like a dirty cleaning rag. The place was not busy enough(granted it was lunch-time) for the waitress to have been as slow as she was. To the restaurant owner, here is a tip: either hire a 2nd waitress or get a dedicated cashier! This waitress was obviously struggling with all of the extra duties aside from waiting tables, while the cook was standing in the kitchen looking out the window. Each of us ordered a different margarita, yet when they came out they were all exactly the same. Margaritas are supposed to be made with tequila, by the way, not beer. The lunch specials are reasonably priced, but for the mediocre quality of the food, everything else on the menu is very much overpriced. I will admit that the«diabla» sauce was very very tasty, so tasty that I would be tempted to go back just to try the other sauces they offer. But I probably won’t do that.

Worst Mariscos place… The cocktail… Was horrible, it was so cold, almost frozen, nothing special, a cup of ketchup with shrimp and some vegetables, I couldn’t even eat it… I Think they just took it out the fridge to put it on to my table, And that’s not all, it was very expensive, I wouldn’t pay for that thing even 3 dollars, I’ve been in many places from cheap to expensive and I’m not very picky… But that was disgusting, if I want to eat cold ketchup with shrimp, I can prepare that in to my house, this is nothing special, not mexican, not even closer… I didnt’ like the waiter service, he didn’t offer more drinks and nothing, but i forget him after I tasted my food. And the beverages, they are not refill… Consider that when you order, not even the soda. In Mexico, in places where the shrimp cocktail is on sale… They know… That the shrimp broth of the cocktail it’s made with onion, tomatoe, and the shrimp, not with ketchup… The ketchup it’s opcional and it’s supposed to be for your consideration, if I were Diabetic, maybe I may be dead by now, I don’t know about other things in the menu, but I would never try to come back, because the easiest thing and most popular taste like that… Oh god… I prefer not to take that risk again.

Sorry, don’t mean to be a black sheep, but this place is horrible. Although I would like to give it to them, the oysters here was delicious. If it was for the oysters alone, I would give this place a 4 star.(4⁄5) But sadly, we went on to order other things… shrimp quesadilla(1⁄5) — it was literally, corn tortilla, shrimp, and cheese. not pleasing to the mouth. I forgot what else I ordered, it’s been too long. But all I remember was that the plate was huge, and the salad took up 60% of the room. The fried food was okay(2.5÷5) I would’ve given this place one more star if it wasn’t so expensive. between the two of us we spent $ 60. Thank but no thanks.

Delicious! Alan found this on Unilocal and we came here for dinner tonight. It’s a small place that serves Gulf shrimp, as opposed to farmed. They serve ceviche and more traditional dishes like enchiladas w/an emphasis on seafood and offer frog legs grilled or fried and fried alligator bites. They serve beer, wine, sangria and wine margaritas. We ordered the sangria and it was delicious. Chips came w/a flavorful, finely chopped salsa. It was described by one reviewer as a total dive, but I disagree. Maybe my dive standards are different. To me it seemed like a nice, locally owned restaurant w/a gaping shark’s mouth on the exterior front. Inspired by Melissa W’s review, I ordered the Shrimp Trio, 12 shrimp prepared 3 different ways: 4 grilled, 4 fried and 4 served in a Diabla sauce. The latter would have made me expect heat, but Melissa’s description of chunks of simmered tomato, onions, capers and olives reassured me. It comes w/rice, fries and a green salad. I requested no fries, just more salad, but my request wasn’t understood by the kitchen and I got fries. Alan ordered crab enchiladas, assured by our waitress that the crab was real. We also ordered guacamole as an appetizer. When the guacamole arrived it was presented differently than I had seen before: folk mashed avocado w/a small pile of chopped tomato, chopped sweet onion and what I thought was cilantro but tasted more like parsley, piled in the center. It was an interestingly deconstructed presentation and it was tasty. Our mains soon arrived and they were very good. I put the fries on a separate plate and put them aside. The different shrimp were wonderful. There were lime wedges for the grilled ones, tartar sauce which came w/the chips for the fried ones and the ones in the Diavbla sauce had a nice flavor w/o heat. The rice was tasty, as was the salad and the bite I had of Alan’s enchilada was delicious. The dining room is long and narrow w/a TV at one end that was showing reruns of the Olympics women’s gymnastic competition. The bathrooms are in the middle on the back wall and the women’s was clean and attractive, w/tomato soup red walls, a beautiful Mexican ceramic sink, tile floors and a large ceramic soap dispenser. There was only one other couple there eating while we were there but as we were leaving another party arrived. This is a nice, local restaurant w/good food. They deserve to be supported.

Not fresh. The aguachiles(shrimp) was prepared in a salsa that tasted like soap. I hate to sound offensive, but that is the best way I can describe it. Service was slow too. The place looks drab and depressing. I seriously do not like to sound insulting in any of my reviews but I have to be truthful and steer away Unilocalers from here. sorry: o(

Don’t let the outside of this place fool you. Good solid food can be found here and one of the most surprising was the fact that they claim to ONLY use Gulf Caught Shrimp(as opposed to most restaurants that use farm-raised=YUCK). Very interesting and unusual hot sauce is served while waiting for the food; not your typical tomato salsa here. I ordered the Shrimp Trio. 12 good sized shrimp, prepared 3 different ways; 4 were grilled; 4 were very lightly breaded and fried and 4 were served with Diablo sauce that had chunks of simmered tomatoes, onions, capers and olives. I asked to skip the french fries and rice and instead opted for double the salad portion. The salad was great and the biggest surprise came when they served me the salad with REAL lettuce(no iceberg here!). Lots of dark green salad leaves, tomatoes, purple onions and cucumbers with just a splash of ranch. My friend had Crab Enchiladas and believe me, the platter it was served on was big enough to split the dish easily between two people. My shrimp dish was a bit pricey($ 13.95), but well worth the extra dollars for all the flavor that it contained. My only complaint was the air conditioning; I think their window units were straining to keep up with the Texas heat and I would not want to be in there past 2 or 3 pm; I left at 2:00 and it was already too hot in there… and with the brutal Texas heat fast approaching, it won’t be much fun in another month! But admittedly, I AM a Yankee and don’t like heat to begin with, so perhaps it won’t be bothersome for others. Hope they get their A/C fixed and pronto! The waitress was very friendly and suggested the dish that I tried as she explained it was one of their most popular plates… she was right and I’m glad I ordered it. The food was great and if you’re looking for some mexican spice and flavor with an emphasis on seafood, this is the place to try.

Shrimp Diabla was dee-lish, Oysters on the half were big and tasty. And the Mango Chelada was just what I needed to feel like I’m on a vacation. On a Saturday down the street! Will definitely be back soon!

This place taste like heaven. It’s a total dive, but the food is fab. Mango cheladas are worthy of a mention here. We tried the señor tostada that had a variety of seafood on it, all fresh. I ordered the tilapia with salsa veracruzana, it was super yummy. Will go back!

The grilled shrimp and fish tacos are amongst the best I’ve ever had. The seafood had just the right amount of seasoning and char, shrimp was tender and the tilapia fresh and flaky. They we’re topped with fresh shredded romain lettuce, diced onion, slices of cucumber, tomato, and a wedge of avocado all laid on top of two warm corn tortillas. With a healthy squeeze of lime, we’re talking tastebuds satisfaction!

Very friendly/dedicated staff, straightforward food options. Good salsa and chips, cozy scenery(Free View of Huebner! As mentioned in the menu). $ 3.00 margaritas all day, and $ 1.99 wine/margaritas/domestic during happy hour 3 – 6 pm. Free wifi, good music. This place was good as La Vaca Naca, but got lost in the mix of Mexican restaurants in the area. The seafood differentiator is a good play, as there aren’t really any other worthy seafood locations nearby. Good ‘hole in the wall’ feel to this place, and I mean that as a compliment.

I love when Unilocalers alert me to new places even before I find them. And when Danny C told me La Vaca Naca had reinvented themselves to Señor Camaron, I was super excited to get to try the new stuff! When you sit down, they’ll place a basket of chips, salsa and tartar sauce in front of you. I would have liked for the chips to be made in-house, but the salsa was pretty good. The menu is full of fried seafood and delicious fish and shrimp tacos. And they concoct a mango michelada that Danny C couldn’t resist. Service was top notch. Really superb. Our waiter chatted with us, filled orders quickly and was just all around entertaining!
