3 rating because I don’t want to hurt or help at this point so remaining neutral. Was excited about trying this place and went to the location but the windows and doors are duct taped with black plastic bags and no signs. Don’t know if the place is closing for good, going through a renovation, or having a mob hit go down tonight.

Place is incredible. First time going there and I was not disappointed. Great service. Incredible food. All for little cost.

Had one of their sandwiches at a catered event, and my mouth is still doing a happy dance. The Alfredo sauce. on the pasta was to die for, and the roasted zucchini was superb.

They never Ravioli! They only make a small amount in the morning. They said you have to be one of the first customers of each day. Why put this on the menu if you are only going to make a small amount?

Just went for dinner and what a disappointment. That bruschetta toast was not toasted and did not hold up to the overabundance of olive oil. Best spaghetti sauce why is watery and the sausage was burnt. The house salad was full of vinegar. My girlfriend had Alfredo with chicken and the sauce was very thin like watery. The bread that was served with olive oil wasn’t even warm. Very disappointed!

First time in the restaurant, but we’ve been to the food truck. My husband got his favorite: Grandma’s Meatball sandwich. He said it is delicious every time. I previously tried their Godfather, which is also great. This time I had the San Generous sandwich, which has Italian sausage and peppers. It was amazing. We will definitely be back

My girl and I decided to meet at Big Guidos after work. Neither of us has been here before. We walked through the door at 8pm right as they were closing. The owner graciously kept the kitchen open for us and welcomed us in. Made us feel extremely welcome at the end of their work day. Food was delicious, service impeccable. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

The best pizza we’ve had in San Antonio so far! They make their own cheese and it is wonderful! The staff is very friendly and helpful as well! We will definitely be back.

If you are looking for that local small place, this is the place! The food was good, except for the Caesar salad, it was bland. The meat lasagna goes fast, and they were out of it. They do not serve any type of alcohol. Seat your self, there is no sign, and we were not greeted at the door, rather at the table. The waitress was really nice. It is a family running the restaurant. I think I would visit again when I return to Texas.

This family run restaurant is fantastic! The waitress aka the owners daughter was sweet, enthusiastic about her family restaurant and is a great waitress too! Meatballs are amazing — not sure we’ve ever had a better one. My son loved his chicken Alfredo too! The cannoli was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Food was not commercial tasting, like the big name places. Has a style, look and taste all it’s own. I had the chicken and egg plant plate and I highly recommend it. Service was friendly and highly attentive. Oh ya and the portions are generous!

Groupon has done it again. Being from the north east, I have been looking for some good Italian food here in San Antonio. Guido’s is legit. Great food and plenty of it. There’s no way you can leave there hungry. Staff was friendly and service was excellent. Not a Unilocal expert, but definitely will be coming back here.

This place is the REALDEAL! I crave the god father. Amazing sandwich. I get it un toasted with extra dressing… Mmmm. They have a friendly & awesome staff! This is the best place to get true NY Italian food. A lil hole in the wall gem.

Went here last night while using a groupon. The food was delicious! Probably the best gravy(that’s red sauce) that I have had down here in San Antonio. One thing that I wasn’t aware of was that you can only order the meatball or the godfather sandwiches if you are dining for dinner. Not a big deal at all, just wanted to let others know. The starters and entrees are your classic Italian fare and priced very reasonably. I think the most expensive entrée was $ 12.99? Maybe a dollar more. But very good prices for the service, quantity and quality. We started with the fried cheese and for $ 7 it was a great value. Most places might give you 5 or 6 frozen mozzarella sticks, but here you get 3 very large fried triangles and a large cup of sauce. I had the meatball sub which was filling and delicious. The roll was just soft enough and the meatballs didn’t squeeze out of the sandwich. Maybe could use a little more cheese/time under the broiler. My girlfriend got the ziti, which we thought would have red sauce, but it was more of a ricotta mixture with mozzarella melted on top. Very large portion and I think it was $ 10. After dinner, a fine NY born gentleman approached our table with a complimentary cannoli because my girlfriend had some NY Giants apparel on. That was a nice touch and the cannoli was perfectly made. Hopefully he didn’t want us to keep that free cannoli a secret, but it was a nice touch and really made us feel welcome. The chef also came out to greet us while we were eating so that was cool. Another table had wine but I did not see any wine on the menu so I am wondering if it is a BYOB? I know they aren’t too big down here in SA, but I would love to know if we could bring wine with us for dinner. Big Guido’s owners, I would love to know. Lastly, the fine NY born gentleman informed us about a cool promotion for the upcoming football season where they will take whatever cities the two Monday Night Football teams are from and make a regional sandwich from that city. If you choose the winning team’s sandwich as your dinner, you get entered into a drawing for a gift cert. Thought that was really cool. I would probably give this more of a 4.5 rather than a 4. Both the food and the hospitality were great. We will be back.

First visit to Big Guido’s off a Groupon. A little New York type Italian dive with a New York attitude. For starters some Caprese salad with a creamy, delightful mozzarella. A crispy bruschetta with just the right amount of garlic. A very nice, but not exhaustive, menu which includes not only eggplant and chicken Parmesan, but a Sicilian Parmesan Plate that includes both. And, by the way, you can get the eggplant and the chicken grilled if you prefer. Dessert included cannoli although the tiramisu and the rainbow cookies were available. Outside seating available. Very good service as well. All this against a the backdrop of a New York skyline. Background music by Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney and Sammy Davis Jr.

This is a great little mom and pop neighborhood Italian restaurant that just made the jump from food truck to brick and mortar. The live music was a special treat as was the complimentary wine on Friday and Saturdays
