Had a «Bee train» and a «Chimney Sweep» very good. Nice staff greeted upon arrival. Small quiet little chill spot. Soft easy music in background. Not a lot of folks, but it was early on a Friday evening. I’ll be back

Another great place to catch drinks with friends at night! My roommate and I really enjoyed all the drinks here as well as the service. The light wasn’t too dim so that we had to shine a flashlight over the menu and the music wasn’t too loud so we weren’t shouting at each other. Honestly the place had a nice cozy, but fancy feel to it. DRINKS: I don’t know how often the menu changed but I’m reviewing the drinks on the menu that night. Seems like the cocktail menu had most type of liqueurs to satisfy anyone Ordered the JASMINEJEWEL($): Gin, jasmine liqueur, lemon, and tonic — really perfect for another who enjoys the taste of jasmine and gin. I’m not even a huge fan of gin and I really loved this drink. Then I got the FRENCH75 since you get a discount off CHAMPAGNECOCKTAILS if you check in and it was also good. All in all really solid bar and we will be visiting again!

Went at early hour so spot was empty. Bartender was amazing and really great with the ‘just legal’. It might have been awkward and strange, but it turned out to be an extremely mellow interesting way to begin our party. I had go back.

This is a super chill bar! The drinks are pretty expensive, 3 drinks cost me around 33 bucks. They were really good though!!! It’s defiantly one of those bars where you can actually hold a conversation at, it’s not to loud and crazy. The music was awesome just a super great playlist they had going on. I really suggest getting a scotch sour there!

Perfect little classy bar for a date or to meet the buddies for happy hour. I didn’t go late but I would. Its clean, well decorated, great cocktails at good prices. This place looks like it belongs in Austin, not SA.

I always try and stop by here whenever I am in San Antonio. It is the perfect balance in my opinion for a bar. I like the location a lot. The bar seems to mesh perfectly in with everything else. No gaudy street signs here, just a nice little neon sign that says«Bar Open». The interior is warm and cozy. Booths for groups, a long bar with plenty if stools, a few high tables, and outdoor seating as well. They seem to rotate the art on the walls regularly. The beer selection is small. It is good beer however. They rotate a few selections very regularly so that is a plus for me. I like the fact that the«worst» beer they have is Lonestar. Their liquor selection may not be the most expansive or expensive I have seen, but they sure know how to mix well. After countless visits I have yet to encounter a cocktail crafted here that I did not enjoy. Its fun to just tell one of the folks behind the bar what flavors you are feeling and allow them to get creative. Service is what keeps me coming back here. Efficient. Attention to detail. Friendliness. The staff here knows how to treat a customer well and make them want to come back regularly. I enjoy the cliental too. Seems to be a mixed crowd but more mature than other bars in the area. College ages, middle ages, and a few seniors as well. Prices are on point. For the quality of product and service you receive they are on par. If you are looking for cheap wells go across the street.

Recent favorites: Vieux Carre(spicy and sweet); rye Manhattan(modified classic); penicillin(Scotch, ginger spice, and more Scotch). Winter time brings Chris’s cinnamon infused bourbon and Hot Toddy’s(cinnamon bourbon, lemon, honey, tiny bit of ginger). If you’re not sure what you want, let Alejandro know what you like and dislike and he’ll help you find your new favorite cocktail.

This is by far my favorite bar in San Antonio. It is tucked away in a cute Alamo Heights shopping center. But when you go inside, you get nice contemporary bar. I have frequented this bar so much, it feels like Cheers and everyone knows my name. from the owners to the bar staff, EVERYONE is GREAT! Plus you have tasty cocktails for a reasonable price. The ambiance is just right. Dim and nice and not too loud. I will be back and i will continue to take all my friends here when they come in town to visit.

This is one of my favorite places in San Antonio. It’s a cozy little bar right off Broadway near Central Market, but it feels like it’s very much off the beaten path. The service is always no less than excellent, and now having come here for a few years, it just keeps getting better. Once the bartenders get to know your likes and dislikes, they are willing to create new items tailored just for you that help expand your cocktail horizons. When I first started coming here, I wouldn’t try anything that didn’t have vodka, and now… I like to experiment outside my comfort zone and have cozy-ed up with Whiskey, bitters, and other flavors I would have never tried had I not been introduced to this place. Though it can take quite a few minutes to get a drink here, each handcrafted cocktail is worth the wait.

This place is spot-on. Went here after brunch and before a comedy show to kill time, and boy did we pick the right place! The bartender, Alejandro, and owner, Mike, are both incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of mixology and the cocktail bar scene in general. I had an aviation and the hanky panky and they were both DELICIOUS. Coming from someone who generally doesn’t care too much for gin, this is a huge compliment. We ordered food from next door and hung out for a while until our showtime. We will definitely come back.

Probably amongst the best«craft cocktail» places in town(and also one of the first on the scene), Mon Ami continues to draw a varied crowd that appreciates stiff and tasty drinks, but certainly the type who can afford ten to fifteen buck cocktails. Michael and his crew have all the expected staples, all the expected hipster labels(I’m looking at you, Fernet Branca), and some surprising options that make appearances as they’re able. Sometimes you just want a proper manhattan, sometimes you want to try something off the menu; but where Mon Ami really stands out is with their ability to translate«I kindof want something bourbon based but with light notes too» and BOOM out comes something delicious that you’d never be able to replicate elsewhere. So, bring a fair amount of cash, dress like a proper human being, and show up with an imagination and carbs in your belly… you’ll be pleased as punch.

My favorite go-to bar in my neighborhood. I especially love this place on weeknights when it is less crowded. The bartenders are very good at what they do and can create excellent, customized orders dependent upon your requests. I have gone here before on quieter nights and met strangers who are very friendly and had a blast. I’ve also loved it equally on Fridays/Saturdays as a meet up for good friends. Overall incredible bar.

One of my favorite cocktail bars in San Antonio. Not as glamorous as or old-fashioned as 1919, Bar du Mon Ami is in a nice location on Broadway. Mon Ami has an extensive patio, a long bar inside, and a number of tables lining the wall. So if you want to chill at the bar and just talk to the bartenders(who have always been extremely friendly and converstional) you can do that. Or if you want more privacy for a date you can sit at a table(perhaps bringing sushi over from the restaurant next door). Or you can lounge outside with a group friends. Mon Ami has a great selection of drinks and the bartenders are very knowledgeable. The restaurant also rotates interesting local art on the walls to check out. Mon Ami has a lot of personality and is reasonable priced for a cocktail bar. Even better they have a 20% military discount which is unheard of good. Every time I’m in town I make it a point to stop by and grab one of their amazing cocktails. And so should you!

This place is too small to be as slow as they were with four bartenders. Really disappointed in this place. It took us forever to get the attention of the bartenders even though we were seated AT the bar. An hour later(and only one drink down), we left. It’s too bad because the one drink I was served was really good.

As I sit here writing this review about MY bar from MY bar, one thought completely encircles me, just like standing in the muddled, er middle, of a whiskey, sugar cube, bitters and orange peel waterfall. The heat had not been blistering in town yet. The climate was hot and humid enough to create a slow but steady stream of sweat beads inbetween your shoulder blades that inch down your spine to your buttcrack slower than honey rolling down a piece of sandpaper. El Niño made me deviate from my nomal whiskey drinks and called for something more refreshing. To avoid being the Unilocal equivalent of a long winded John Milton, I’ll just say this: the barkeeps know their, uh, craft. If it’s not on the menu, they can make it for you or suggest something based on your favorite poison. Or as in my case, leave it in their very capable, knowledgeable, cocktail-creating hands and have them build(yes, BUILD) you a brilliant and tasty libation. Cue Misael’s entrance. He made these two different refreshing drinks that were delightful for this heat. The tequila based one, The San Antonio Picnic, was just what I was looking for: light, aromatic but not weak. The second gin and hibiscus based cocktail, the Mexican Sunrise, was equally aromatic light and crisp, yet potent. The space is charming and dimly lit. Attentive staff and great drinks make this place superior. Oh yes. And no collard shirts and reservations required. All chanclas are welcomed.

Casual sophistication at its best. My friends and I love this spot on Broadway in Alamo Heights for a nice drink that won’t break the bank. Lovely atmosphere that is not too loud and not too dark. Where I want to go for a chill drink or two any night of the week. Great and friendly service too. Bartenders who know what they’re doing but aren’t stuck up about it… they will mix things up for you to taste and guide you to a cocktail you’ll love. Last night, they were serving $ 6 hot toddies that were a particular treat.

I took my friend her for her b-day pre-celebration, it is a great place, very clean and great mix drinks. I’m a whiskey sipper, that mean I turn my nose up at blend drinks. However, I liked their mix drinks. The Basil Collins is a great summer drink IMO The Monk’s Revenge, isn’t my favorite, it tastes like cough drop. The Rum Diary is a great drink, I really enjoyed it. To be honest, I’m still look down at blend drinks, but I like the idea of mixing them up once a while. I’m up to try few other drinks next time. My only suggestion is I wish there were more spare chairs, since most table only hold 4 people, group of 5s often takes the stools from the bar, we had to stand for 15 mins before we got the chair back. Not a deal breaker though.

Classy dive? Simple. Whiskey gin tequila rum. Perfection. Two drinks max. Dimly lit. Amy Winehouse. Blood orange old fashioned. Terribly written review.
