If you want a gastronomic adventure that will not disappoint in San Antonio, you definitely have to make your way to Cured. From the double entendre in the name of the restaurant to the unique offerings of charcuterie and platings, the chef is truly inspirational! The ambience is casual and lacking any sense of ostentation but instead refocuses the attention on the beauty of the historical, stand– alone building and culinary delights of this restaurant. Very impressed and my friends loved it also! I can not help but tell everyone i know about my experience so that they can enjoy it for themselves.

Man oh man was this a fanfreakingtastic dining experience from start to finish! First off, Mark, our server, was exceptional. He has crazy good instincts at knowing what you’d like and every suggestion he made was on point! Second, I love the vibe. It’s mostly modern with a rustic touch here and there. It’s chic yet inviting. It’s kind of like a butcher shop and wine/cocktail bar melded into one. It just works. Their food is fantastic(as are their cocktails) and the product of a number of highly skilled individuals who care and have passion for what they are doing. It was very difficult to decide on what to get as everything on their menu sounded incredible. We went with: –Quail Legs –Three Item Charcuterie Plate(we chose Smoked Duck Ham, Apple Jalapeño Pork Rillettes, and Pork Culatello) –Chicken Fried Chicken Livers –Roasted Bone Marrow –Lamb Tartare –Pig Cheek Poutine –Foie Gras Monte Christo All were decadent and delicious. Our favorites were the fried chicken livers, roasted bone marrow, and poutine! I’m a big fan of liver, but for those who are afraid of it or have little to no experience, their chicken fried chicken livers are a great intro. Their bone marrow included escargot, pickled shallots, and chanterelles and was so freaking good! Make sure you sop up all the wonderful juices with the awesome bread that came with it. As for the poutine, I knew I was going to like this place when looking at their menu beforehand and seeing the description for their pig cheek poutine simply states, «‘Nuff Said». I will follow suit and say no more. Cured is a San Antonio must! I personally would drive from Austin to San Antonio and back just to come here. I look forward to doing just that sooner than later. P. S. To all of Austin’s sharable plate crazed restaurants, you could learn a thing or two from Cured, Girl and The Goat, and Publican about how«sharable plates» do not have to mean tiny portions.

I really loved the location and design of this restaurant. It seemed to blend in perfectly with the vibe at pearl breweries: old industry remodeled with a modern twist. I sat at the bar and all of the staff were quite friendly and helpful. I asked for a few recommendations and the bartender suggested several items varying in price from $ 12 — $ 38, which was great. I settled on the bone marrow which is topped with escargot and it was absolutely delicious, but not for those trying to watch their figure. Though the portion for the dish was fair, I was still a little hungry so I elected to try a dessert. The bartender recommended the milk & honey, so I ordered it and was swiftly disappointed. It was absolutely beautifully presented and not a bad dessert by any stretch, but it amounted to essentially a fancy vanilla wafer, some ice cream, and«comb candy» which tasted essentially like burnt peanut brittle, only not as hard. I would definitely return to this restaurant again for a special occasion when I was not afraid to drop a little cash. This time, I’d try some of the meats as an appetizer in addition to an entrée, and then I’d order the chocolate dessert instead.

The food was excellent but the service was lacking. We ordered a 6 item charcuterie board which was excellent, pork cheek poutine(excellent and enough for 3 people), and the 50cent Happy Hour quail legs(which were deliciously fried and drizzled with honey). My friend also got the foie gras ‘monte cristo’ which she enjoyed as well. The service! Our waiter seemed to often forget about us, serve everyone around us, and we even had to ask for water refills when everyone else had water pitchers on the table. All in all the hostess was super nice so she balanced out the waitress! And again, the food was amazing! The manager came over at the end of the meal and greeted us. I thought that was a really nice touch!

Our waiter was great and really knowledgeable of all the beers and meats on the menu. I came here for lunch and ordered the burger. The beef patty was delicious but other than that it was a bit plain. The bread buns was ‘meh’ and the quality of the fries were fresh but nothing outstanding.

Can’t say enough good things. First time here I was greeted warmly and got a seat at the bar watching the cooks. I felt like I was inside Food Network. It was so fun. My waiter was very polite and either the owner or the manager was also very helpful. I never felt pressued, just welcomed. I almost ordered one of everything lol. I started with the Lazy Bee drink, it was amazing. You could really taste the honey. I then ordered the charcuterie with three meats, duck ham, apple jalapeño pork rillettes, and Bresaola. The waiter explained everything perfectly and I loved it all. My favorite was the apple jalapeño one. After that the chef sent out a sample meatball. Very good. Nice touch. Next I got the redfish with corn purée. The portion was small but it was delicious. Finally I got the chocolate desert with blondie and peanut butter powder. Excellent as well. This place is amazing. Expensive as it adds up fast, but totally worth it. I had a great time. I sware I was living! Staff is great, food is great. Would definitely love to come back.

The night got off to a shaky start when the stuck us in the very back of the restaurant– right next to some ghetto family that brought their obnoxious small children along. They brought small kids to an adult restaurant, the kids were acting out and mama and baby daddy didn’t even order food for the kids– just themselves! The management should have asked them to control their kids. One star off for that alone. After talking to the manager and being moved to a decent table, we got down to ordering. First things first –Make sure you try the meat charcuterie board. It’s a great sampler type platter with a great selection of scrumptious offerings. There was a mix of some semi-traditional preparations, and some a little more out there… That’s the thing about Cured… The foods is well made, well presented and very flavorful, but it realllly walks the line between food and fetish food. Some things seem to be trying just a little too hard, or have too many unnecessary complications to it. With some of the dishes– you’re not sure exactly what you’re eating… or what the flavors are. If I could, I might give it 3.5 stars for the pretentiousness. That being said, we loved the venue and the grounds, the waitstaff and management was on top of things for the most part, and the food was mostly top notch.

Ambiance, service and food were all perfect for a Saturday brunch! I had the Chicken and Doughnut(only served on Saturday) — let’s just say I’m so glad I was there on a Saturday. It was absolutely delicious!

From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in the right place. The first thing you notice about Cured, is the enticing selection of cured meats hanging near the entry, and the fact that this place is simply gorgeous, in a farm to table — meets Restoration Hardware kind of way. It just feels good. Though we were nervous about some of the more experimental charcuterie, our server helped us assemble a collection that we devoured. Seriously, don’t even consider a visit here without partaking in their specialty. Just go in for a cocktail and a meat board if you aren’t that hungry, and be sure to consider the local lamb terrine and the smoked duck ham as part of your selections. The cocktails were made with skill, the entrees were spot on(especially the leg of lamb), and the Milk and Honey dessert was decadent, without being cloyingly sweet. All of this would be enough to bring us back, but the sincere, attentive, and kind service from all involved was equally impressive and refreshing. Cured turned a potentially not so great night into something we are still talking about days later. Very well done.

If I could give half stars, I would give Cured 3.5 stars. I browsed some reviews of Cured and noticed a small trend. The number of stars for ratings correlates with whether the reviewer ordered a meat charcuterie board. That being said, I highly recommend that if you want the best and full experience at Cured, *which specialty IS smoked/cured meats*, ORDER A CHARCUTERIEBOARD. On our charcuterie board, we did 3 items: apple jalapeño pork rillettes, smoked duck ham, and lamb culatello. This was a beautiful, unique, and unconventional charcuterie board. Instead of cheese, the meats are combined with sauces(red bell pepper mustard and tangerine marmalade were ours), house pickles, and cracker chip… things(lol). I truly did enjoy all the flavors with the delicious meat selections. Charcuterie board = star of the show. We also ordered the beet, avocado, and citrus salad. Skip this. and the other salad options.(I don’t know why we thought it was a good idea to get a salad at a meat restaurant? Maybe needed some vegetables?) It was a whomping 12 dollars for such a small dish… The beets were sweet and tasty, but also seemed like they were drenched in vinaigrette. Also since it was so small, not lots of leaves(arugula), so don’t expect a full blown salad. Pork cheek poutine is a popular ordered item. It is an extremely HEAVY dish. It was topped with cauliflower(also heavily doused in vinaigrette). I wish the cheese curds were spread out more instead of random orange globs. There was a very generous amount of pork cheek. Overall an OK dish; a good one to share with friends. Service here is fantastic. The owner/manager/some top guy personally seated us after the hostess took our information down and made us feel very comfortable. Our waitress was also fantastic and just so nice and explained the menu fully. I felt extremely underdressed(I was wearing workout clothes; nike shorts…) but nobody ever looked at us in disapproval or treated us any differently. Cured is a a great fancy place to enjoy a celebration or have a nice meal. I’m interested in their happy hour and hope to try other items(specifically meat ones!)

I had read about Cured and since we were in town for the UTSA graduation we thought we would try it out. A potentially bad evening turned out great. The outside tables were booked so we agreed to wait. Unfortunately, the tables did not clear for the longest time(and a large party had reserved most of the outside tables anyways), so we waited and waited at the public chairs in front. Soon the manager Wacey Jamison came out and offered us some water and bread, then drinks and finally appetizers. Next he had an extra table set up for us and we ordered dinner. He went out of his way to make us welcome and even made a recommendation for a winery to visit the next day. And the food? It was outstanding and memorable. I am not usually adventurous with food, but we took his recommendations with the charcuterie plate, and the pork cheeks(!) were great. We will definitely be back when we visit San Antonio again.

Cured is a great place to go to for Happy Hour. They have 50 cent Quail legs, which don’t have a ton of meat on them,(hence the cheap price) but are AMAZING. The batter and the spices that they use when they fry the Quail legs is so delectable and the perfect combination of salty with just a hint of sweetness. In addition to the phenomenal legs they have, the Happy Hour Drink prices can not be beat. Normally at cured the drinks range from 9 – 13 dollar for a cocktail. However during Happy Hour, they have all the House Cocktails for HALFPRICE. So you can save a ton of money and have two drinks for the price of one! In addition to the House Cocktails there are spceials on Drafts and Hosue Wines as well. The staff are all friendly and attentive here. The hostess greet you the second you arrive, rpovide you with water while taking you to your seat, and the bartenders are always very attentive and friendly. Make sure you stop by here for Happy Hour! It’s a great place to hang out for a drink, go meet a date, and to just kill time! Happy hour is Monday-Friday 3pm — 6pm.

Four of us recently had dinner @ Cured. Sat outside since it was a perfect Friday night(and well we had no reservations). We started out with their charcuterie plate and shared the mussels, poutine, and bone marrow. We had the chef choice charcuterie(and asked for nothing too crazy– no head cheese or organ meat). We ordered the 6(with one being their cheese selection). All of the tastings were very good. My favorite(surprisingly) was the duck breast– I don’t particularly like duck, but it was very well done. I could not begin to tell you what the rest were. I wish they would have brought out more flat bread for four of us. The poutine — often raved out on Unilocal– was pretty good but i don’t think I would order it again. It was a little on the cold side. And well cold fries are no Bueno. The mussels were very good and a rare find. It’s difficult to find a place in San Antonio that makes really good mussels and I was not expecting it here out of all places. The bone marrow — I didn’t try. I grew up old school with my grandma’s bone marrow from her beef caldo. If you were there chosen one– you’d take it and put it on a corn tortilla with a little salt and well it was heavenly, but I got sidetracked. So eating bone marrow is just not the same. But hey, if you enjoy have at it. They have a nice selection of wine, cocktails and beer. That was my experience– and I would go again not sure if I can coax my husband though.

Great neighborhood, nice building, good ambiance but mediocre food. The portions were very small for their signature cured platers. The gumbo was salty. Though the steak frites was good and accompanying veggies were fresh and well prepared. Overall it was a very underwhelming experience with a pretty steep price tag. Check out the Pearl neighborhood, stop in for a drink and head to the Granery Tavern for dinner instead. Skip it!

I came here for a friends birthday dinner and have to say that the service was great and accommodating to our large dinner party. Our waitress was really helpful in helping us choose our items for our charcuterie board. We all really enjoyed the board for our appetizer. The smoke duck ham was my favorite. I ordered the grilled flat iron steak for my meal with a side of Brussels sprouts and well there’s no picture because I ate all of it. If you’re in the Pearl area and are feeling fancy I’d highly recommend this place!

Fresh fresh fresh! Cured has a great atmosphere outside and the best Pinot Grigio. The quinoa salad looked at good as it tasted. Service was great and tentative. This is primarily a meat house(Keep it cured!) but the salad here is definitely worth trying.

Oh my goodness. I can’t believe I haven’t tried this any earlier. If you were looking for a place to impress on a date or coworkers, celebrate a special occasion, show around family or friends visiting from out of town… this is the place!!! Located in Pearl Brewery, Cured calls this historic building its home with an amazing display of meats once you walk in. Went in for dinner with my SO for his birthday. The ambiance in the front room is rustic, romantic, warm. From where we were sitting, we could see into the bar where the lighting was a little bit more bright, for a busier/chatty atmosphere. We tried the 3 serving charcuterie plate with pork pâté, pork belly, and jalapeño pork sausage. It also came with 2 types of pickles, a pumpkin sauce and a beet sauce. It was all so delicious. My favorite was the pork belly. With the rest of the menu, the things listed at the top of each section(lower priced) are small plates. At the bottom are the full entrees. So we also got an order of the pork butter… this was was probably my favorite part of the night. SOGOOD. It had this delicious tomato-jalapeño jelly on top. My husband tried the pork poutine, which was great. Loved the cauliflower. And the fried egg on top is a must.(It is a huge portion by the way!) I got crab crusted redfish which is paired with broccoli, salad turnips, and kumquat. I’ve never tried kumquat before… it is best described as a burst of bright citrus flavor! Totally unexpected. Absolutely perfect. We finished the night with the Milk & Honey dessert. I can’t say I loved the texture of that cake. But those simple flavors were spot on. I was recommended to try the Tabby Apple Rye cocktail. It was dangerously good. Service was friendly. Overall had a wonderful experience. The hardest part of the night was trying to decide what to try. So excited to come back and try again.

My local San Antonian friends have told me that their city isn’t as ~trendy~ as Austin is, but if more restaurants like Cured pop up, there’s no doubt in my mind that San Antonio will be a new Texas culinary heavyweight. Cured’s primary specialty is charcuterie — it’s an absolute disservice to yourself if you skip out on it. There’s a plethora of options, all made in-house, and a portion of each charcuterie plate is donated to a charity of Cured’s choice, making it a no-brainer to order! My sister and I split a 3-item plate for brunch, consisting of apple jalapeño pork rillettes(salty, smooth spreading consistency), smoked duck ham(perfect vehicle for the condiments, more on that in a second), and lamb culatello(kind of like a thinly sliced salami made of lamb! Say what!). Although we only ordered 3 items, we actually got a million more to accompany the meats. Red bell pepper mustard, tangerine marmalade, pumpkin butter, homemade pickles two ways, crispy flatbread… the combinations for meat and accoutrements were endless and fun ways to sample different flavors together. In addition to the charcuterie, we also ordered the pork cheek poutine at the beginning of our meal — big mistake. The poutine is a GIGANTIC portion of fries, cheese, pickled cauliflower, and heaping amounts of pork cheek. I was genuinely surprised at how much meat is served in the cute li’l cast iron serving pot, making it a meal all on its own and an absolute struggle to finish(but worth it!). Service at Cured is absolutely phenomenal, always a watchful but never overbearing eye during our meal. Additionally, the building itself is an absolute pleasure to eat in — historic, airy, modern… I could probably live here, now that I think about it. If I lived in San Antonio, Cured would probably be on my regular list of places to eat, just to try new charcuterie items throughout the year. Delicious food and amazing service make Cured one of my favorite dining experiences, ever!
