Great food and service. Especially the salmon and Tiramasu. Our server was very attentive and even the owner checked in on us.

We came to Aldino to have dinner with the familia, 7 of us this evening. Such a wonderful spot. Everyone was super friendly and very attentive. Owner came by & we had great small talk. Severs were all awesome. Started with hot fresh oven bread(toasty on the outside super soft on the inside) paired with herb evoo. I had the Stagione Salad to start Start with a bed of greens, add in fresh crab meat and avocado, and finish it with a mango vinaigrette Polla alla Gorgonzola as my main course We start with tender, juicy chicken breast, toss in sun dried tomatoes, a handful of crimini mushrooms. To complete the mouth-watering recipe we cover it in tarragon cream & gorgonzola cheese Chocolate Ganache Cake for dessert Familia had –PEI Mussels –Lobster Bisque –Pappa col Pomodoro –Lasagna al Forno –Tilapia Venezzie –Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo –chicken marsala –tiramisu We all had cleaned plates after dinner it was that good. Not only do I love Italian but I’m from NYC so I love finding good spots. This is one that I’ve added to my list. You won’t be disappointed.

Went here for date night, and was overall underwhelmed by the food, but enjoyed the service and the atmosphere a lot. I had the kale salad, which was drowning in dressing and featured pretty mealy/not fresh pears and tomatoes — I know it can be hard to find those ingredients fresh in the winter, but maybe they should change their menu rather than offer substandard fare. Boyfriend had the pollo alla gorgonzola, which was good but really nothing too special, especially considering it was $ 19. The stuffed eggplant starter(involtini) and fresh, warm bread with olive oil were standouts of the meal. If we go back, we will try to get there before 6:30 to take advantage of the prix fix menu, which looks pretty clutch.

Last couple of visits we have gotten the pescatore– it’s a beautiful bowl of fish, clams, muscles, and shrimp in a tasty tomato broth that is light and aromatic … Perfect for dunking the warm bread!

For a quality Italian restaurant, Aldino really provides a good array of options on the menu. I always get this limited feeling that I don’t like from authentic Italian places, but it’s not like that here. Aldino will have something for everyone and if your experience is anything like mine, it will all be tasty. The waiter started us off with some bread fresh out of the oven. I really liked its fluffiness, which isn’t typical for restaurants. It went well with the olive oil that they bring with it. I also got a few appetizers to start out with: the lobster bisque and the calamari. They were both really good and it should be noted that they provide a generous amount of calamari. For the main course, I tried the veal ravioli and the chicken with mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. The chicken comes with the option of two different sauces. I don’t remember the name of the sauces, but I chose the white sauce. The sauce is both on the chicken and on the angel hair pasta that comes on the side. Overall, it was a good dish(4 stars), but the veal ravioli blew it out of the water. The ravioli was perfect in every way(definite 5 star dish). The meat inside was delicious, the red sauce on the outside paired well, and the pasta was cooked just right. Typically it’s hard to impress me with pasta, but Aldino managed to do it with their ravioli! Combine the great food with their friendly staff and nice ambiance and dining here is a no brainer.

We went on a Sunday at 5pm, so had none of the issues others have had with long waits to be seated. The starter bread was fresh and warm. The crab meat and avocado salad was a little bland but still good. The bruschetta was really good the bread was crispy, the topping was very fresh and the balsamic was excellent — kind of sweet and not too vinegary. The chicken and mushroom risotto was creamy and had a nice flavor. It was very filling. The portion size was large.

I’ve been here a few times and they were much better back then than yesterday evening. We had 12 people in our party and we did have reservations, and we were sat immediately. The interior is very nice. The service is just ok… Maybe our waitress was over welmed, but she did forget a few things including someone’s meal! The chicken parmesan was dry and didn’t have enough sauce. In my opinion the Pollo Gorgonzola was to creamy and chicken was tough. My mother thought so as well. I had the Farfalle firenze which used to be called Cappellini Firenze and that was good! When the one dish didn’t come out at all, the manager should have came over and said something, but didn’t. The crème brûlée was good and so was their cheesecake. Oh and they charge for a bday dessert!!!

This place is so amazing! Everything is homemade from scratch EVEN the dessert — they have plenty vegetarian options and are VERY accommodating with their menu — the staff is very friendly and you can tell its a family environment– great wine list and bread is to DIEFOR! Don’t sleep on this place!!!

In the interest of full disclosure, my wife and I have been going here for several years and are fans. These guys are pros at the game and the food has NEVER let us or our out-of-town guests down. The owners mill with the patrons and you feel like you are part of a family. Food: always excellent, but my favorite(along with my expanding waistline) is the risotto; best I’ve tasted(and, for the record, I’ve had plenty of risotto). Ask for Netta for service ’cause she’s the best of a panoply of real pros.

Sub par service and food. We didn’t get sat till 45 minutes after our reservation time, which doesn’t really bother me that much… but the manager who showed us to our table just tossed all the menus in a pile in the middle of the table, didn’t pull out a chair for any of the ladies with us, didn’t say a thing(no «enjoy your meal» or «your server will be right with you»), and walked away before we had even begun to sit down. The server didn’t seem to know much about the menu, he couldn’t answer the few simple questions the table asked. Overall the service wasn’t terrible, but I’d guess that he hadn’t been serving for very long. All of the above could be overlooked if the food was great — unfortunately it was not. In fairness, of the 6 people in my group, 2 thought the food was good, 3 thought that it was OK, only I thought the food was poor. I had the Ravioli de Vitello with the«pesto cream» sauce. The ravioli was bland, but the big issue was the sauce. The pesto cream sauce was very oily(seemed like they had just dumped cream into an oil based pesto) and they had covered the ravioli with olive oil underneath the sauce! It was so oily that I couldn’t eat it(even the friend sitting to my right asked why there was a pool of oil on my plate). My favorite part of the evening had to be when the manager came by to touch the table and ask us how everything was. Everyone else was done, Id eaten maybe 10% of my entrée, but he didn’t ask me anything, and in fact didn’t even wait for anyone to respond — he asked the question then walked off. I just expected a bit more from this place, but c’est la vie. I will not be dining here again.

Went here for the first time with my wife and we loved it! Nice atmosphere and great staff. We had the half order of calamari which was fantastic and by the way it was more than enough for 2 – 3 people to split. Wife had the chicken Gorgonzola and i forget the name of my dish but it was the shrimp limone dish. Both plates were excellent. I enjoyed the light lemon wine sauce that came with mine. The only thing I was upset about was that enjoyed my meal so much I didn’t leave room for dessert!!! They looked so, so good. Looks like they are all made in house and I wanted to try them all!!! Next time we plan to split and appetizer, split a main dish and dessert. Thanks Aldino’s!

Nice atmosphere and great service. Food was just ok. Hot bread was served shortly after we sat down – fabulous. Pizza was pretty good. Unfortunately anchovy oil was abundant… it made the crust soggy. Ravioli was excellent. Lasagne presentation was attractive but it wasn’t hot; thus, the cheeses were not melted appropriately. If I go back I’ll order the ravioli or lamb shank.

Pretty average food. The mussels were fantastic but my entrée, the chef’s combination, was really weak. Nice wine selection. Good atmosphere and excellent service made up for a low level meal.

This is the second time I have been here and I was super impressed each time. It is a bit of a hike for me, but well worth it each time. The only thing was that BOTH times the traffic getting off of 1604 was a train wreck. Not the restaurant’s fault, but leave early if you have reservations. The restaurant is very stylish and well appointed. My work friend says that this is a new location for them over the years. Well, they certainly dialed it in when it comes to interior design. It is exactly what a classy /classic italian restaurant should look like. The bar area was roomy and very popular both times I came. The clientele were always dressed very well. This is not the place to arrive in casual attire. They will serve you and treat you like kings, but you will look like a rube. Each time the owner greeted me like an old friend. The first time, my friend really knew him. The second time was months later and he didn’t have a clue who we were, but was sincerely nice and welcoming. The rest of this review is about our latest meal. My apologies, but I didn’t review it the first time I came three months ago but the time frame is too long for details. We were seated in a nice spot and it made me feel like I was out on a special date with my wife. She had a glass of the moscato wine and thought it was good. I have a weakness for a cosmo and their house version was the BESTEVER! The first time I was with a bunch of guys and had a more«manly» drink which was just as good. The bread was perfect. The olive oil was a perfect complement and I could hve eaten that for hours. I had the house salad which was very good. Had a house vinegrette which was lovingly made with some cheese chunks I really liked. I ordered the Bistecca which is basically a steak. It was ginormous, perfectly cooked, tasted devine and had a great sauce on the side. A friend convinced me long ago that good italian restaurants make the best steaks and this place was a poster child. It came with potatoe chunks which were ok and mixed vegetables which were also OK. Overall, the food is spanking good. I do remember that the last time I had the tiramisu which was STILL top of mind. If I weren’t so gorged I would have doubled down for it again. This is now my official favorite restaurant in San Antonio.

Aldinos had slipped my mind and I haven’t been there for awhile … They have a 4:00 — 7:00 special for $ 20.00 that includes: Choice of soup or salads; Selection of several entrée’s, Choice of deserts. They serve bread with the traditional Italian olive oil dipping sauce. I have them add balsamic vinegar to the dipping sauce and for me this is an excellent appetizer with a glass of timely served wine($ 5.00 a glass happy hour prices). I ordered a Caesar Salad(the soup was lobster bisque), Chicken Parmesan which was served with steamed mixed veggies(steamed perfectly) some pasta and I chose the cheesecake for desert. The portions are generous … I took a to go box with enough for lunch the following day. The wait staff was courteous and efficient. My water glass was filled timely and water is served with lemon in it… which I prefer. I gabbed, chit– chatted and had a good evening … I like the ambience of Aldinos.

I was introduced to this restaurant for the first time last week. I was not in the mood for eating Italian, but I definitely changed my mind after I took a few bites of the appetizers we ordered! The calamari, mushrooms, and bruschetta were all so delicious. I would order each of these dishes again. All the entrees our group ordered were just as excellent as the appetizers(pasta olé, chilean seabass, and gorgonzola chicken). The ambiance is great for a nice gathering with friends or a date. The service was also very good. The waiters were all very friendly. They took our orders promptly and kept bringing our group extra fresh bread to eat before our meals came to the table. My only complaint is that I saw a few mosquitoes flying around and I got bit a few times… Otherwise I can’t wait to return and try the brunch!
