Three is not a bad score. It’s just that this place competes against some great pizza places in the San Antonio area. Both traffic and parking are an issue for this place. There is way to much traffic and not enough parking spaces. On top of that, the parking area is very dark. You walk in and stand in line to order. Luckily, they have a menu on the wall. We don’t really need the menu as we get the buffet. The buffet comes with unlimited trips to both the salad bar and the pizza. There are quite a few toppings that you can get for your salad, but I have never seen bacon bits(got to have my bacon bits). They try to keep multiple types of pizza out for you to choose from, and they refresh frequently. They have tv’s and games to keep the kids happy. The games include pool and video. Will I return? Definitely, when on the area.

Good Pizza & Pizza Rolls! I would visit again but not on a Sunday. They have pizza buffet on Sundays and it was very hectic. We wanted a pizza and to try their famous rolls. The lady at the counter really wanted us to get the buffet for some reason. We had a large Pizza and some Pizza rolls instead. It was very good and we will definitely be back but not on a Sunday!

Pizza was alright. Wait, let me rephrase that. The pizza WITHOUT hair in it was ok. We did the pizza buffet for 6, and 3 of our party found hair in their pizza. The first hair we brought to the cashier, and she said sorry and threw it away. The second time she showed the manager and the manger did nothing. The third time we asked to speak with the manager and she was very sarcastic and had attitude. She told us it was impossible that hair could be in the pizza, as it had never happened before. But none of the employees handling the pizza were wearing hair nets. I am now feeling queasy because it’s really not hygienic and disgusting. They get the one star for issuing a refund, so there’s that. Don’t go unless you enjoy strings of hair rather than cheese in your pizza.

Not great pizza but the Philly is great! The dessert pizza… yes yes and yes. Salad was normal. Rub: the setup is off off. There isn’t enough space for a decent pizza assortment and salad on both sides of the bar causes jams. Yes, one is ceasar, but not everyone cares about that. With the buffet, it’s a cici pizza that isn’t as good(yes, I said it) when it comes to pizza choice/flavor and flow, that serves beer! Decent local beer selections.

Buffet has a small selection of really good pizza. There were also pepperoni rolls which were ok and a Philly Cheese Steak Stromboli which I’ll dream about later. They have hot fresh marinara sauce too which is a major plus. Wayyyyy better than Peter Piper or Cicis. GREAT value! Total was $ 19 for me and my bf, including drinks.

In theory this place should be great. The menu is organized well and there seems to be all the right ingredients for a really good pizza. For that reason I’ve tried them twice. The first time we got handtossed crust. It was okay but very doughy and undercooked. I tried the thin crust the second time and it was also undercooked which I would imagine is hard to do with a thin crust. I also got the pepperoni rolls. They wasn’t much pepperoni to speak of they were clearly hand rolled. They grossed me out a bit. Even my kids wouldn’t eat them. There are many other pizza shops that are better.

The pizza is decent, but what makes this place stand out is the service. After ordering our food I went to grab a highchair for my daughter, and the gentleman behind the counter immediately came over to carry it to our table. Then, after several failed attempts at that darn claw machine, another worker came to our table with a stuffed animal for my daughter. This place has a pleasant atmosphere and an even better staff. The food is not too bad either.

The food here taste bland. It was not good. They have hot marinara sauce that also was bland. None of their food had any zing. The staff was very friendly.

Good atmosphere. The TV’S are nice and well placed. The people are nice and friendly, but the service is not very good. The parking is horrible. We had to wait 40 minutes to get a large pizza. They said that they would serve us at the table, but after you get one beer they do not come to the table and ask for additional drink orders. Bottom line… if you come here it is buffet or nothing.

Not bad but not great either. Good place for families esp the kids eat free on Sundays(w adult Buffett purchase). Food is decent, salad bar acceptable. My main issue is that it needs a total overall cleaning. The carpet in the upper seating area smells like dirty feet and it looks horrible. I will give a plus that staff was friendly.

We love ordering the pepperoni rolls especially on Tuesday when they are half off. However, the last time we ordered we used their phone app to order. It declined our bank card which had plenty of funds so we thought must be an app error. We tried again and again. Then switched to a credit card, with the same effect. We ended up ordering by phone. Then we found out our bank card was charged 3 times & our credit card once. 4 charges for 1 order. We called and spoke to someone who identified themselves as the manager and were told we had to bring down proof, so we did. We were told it would be credited but the credit never came. We called and spoke to a man who said he was the manager and were told he would call us back– he never has and we still have not been credited 3WEEKSLATER! Unfortunately, DD has lost a long time, loyal customer. Phone App users Beware!

TERRIBLEPARKING! Wife and I went to this location to have dinner with the family(nephew’s birthday). However, this restaurant in a strip center(strike one) has very, VERY few parking spaces. Any and all decent parking is either handicapped or marked by nearby business’ signs(seriously, a space reserved for the cigar shop?). I had to drop my wife off in front, then park next to some shrubbery(insert your favorite Monty Python joke here) where my truck actually was inaccessible on the passenger side by said bush. I was so upset that I didn’t bother trying out the pizza. I didn’t even halfway finish my soda(which is extremely unusual and rare for me). For this Double Dave’s Pizza to do the volume of business I hope it does, they really SERIOUSLY need to look at obtaining more parking. Judging from the other reviews, sounds like the food is good, but it reminds me a lot of Cici’s, which I know I like(especially Bandera Road, which has more than ample parking). Seriously…want a bigger lot? Go to Cici’s Pizza on Bandera Road. Even Kennedy’s across the street had more parking than this place. I will NOT return to this DD until they either get more parking, kick the cigar shop out of its space, or cut down the oak trees to make more parking(none of which are likely anytime soon).

This is the kind of place you go to if you have a group of kids. If you don’t, Cici’s is much better and offers quite a bit more of variety. I was really surprised more people rated it highly. The atmosphere was cool, the service was good, but the food was just not that good. We waited forever for them to prepare the dessert pizzas, which there was already a line forming for, which I might add these people should’ve been waiting at the salad bar. I didn’t get a chance to try any of the fresh pizza as they never got refreshed during my visit. I don’t know that I’ll be back.

I usually avoid eating and Unilocal-rating chains, but I LOVE the pepperoni and cheese rolls. The ranch is amazing– the epitome of ranch. It’s got an awesome consistency. The hand-tossed pizza isn’t as good as I remember it being, but maybe the buffet pizza is different? This location is really nice and clean. Tons of local and favorite beers on tap. Very friendly staff. Please open more locations so I don’t have to drive 17 miles for pepperoni rolls.

Great pizza buffet. And, one of the few pizza places that offers the buffet for dinner. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the pizza for the price. You really can’t beat it. Pepperoni rolls and the dessert pizzas are worth the trip alone. The beer selection is better than most restaurants and most of it is on draft. Salad bar is just average, but why go to a pizza place for salad. I don’t eat pizza often, but when I do, I want a lot of pizza. This is usually tops on my list.

Went in skeptical, came out a fan. Stopped by Doubledaves on New Braunfels Ave and it was closed indefinitely, but made the trek to this location because a friend said it was worth it, and they were right. Small pizza buffet and salad bar. Very good pizza at good prices. Thought one of the items on the bar were fat breadsticks. One bite and realized it was filled with cheese and pepperoni, hot, moist, delicious. Pizza dough great and the toppings not skimpy. Many options on draft, though about a third were out. Large dining area with pool table and games along with a large patio with sandbox and toys for the kids. It’s uncovered but the trees keep it somewhat shaded, and it never rains here anyway!

«Meh. I’ve experienced better» really sums it up for this place. As Abbey commented earlier, save your money and go to CiCi’s… It’s been more than six months since anyone has reviewed this place so I figured I would provide a couple of updates. First — price for LUNCH buffet with tax is now $ 7.05(if you order water) Second — I used to experience the lack of ANY pizza on the buffet, but this has gotten a bit better since my last visit. However, the variety still wasn’t there. The desert pizza was plentiful, but that ain’t my thang… (In fairness, there was an ample selection of pepperoni rolls, etc, but I came here for PIZZA man!!!) Third — salad bar is still pretty disappointing — even the lettuce is embarrassed to be there. I do think that this place has potential though. They seem to have a decent beer selection, the place is usually pretty clean, staff is «adequately» friendly, and I dig the layout/design of the place. The food just needs some work IMHO…

What an absolute disappointment. The kiddos had friends over for the weekend so we all decided to head to DoubleDave’s for dinner and some games. At first I thought was reasonable — 5.25 for an adult buffet(adults being anyone over 12) although I quickly changed my mind once we got settled at our table and took a better look at the buffet. Thinking about it, I should have looked first — especially since the buffet is right there as soon as you come in — but I trusted they would provide a good meal. About half the salad bar was missing veggies and other items and the pizza didn’t taste as fresh as I thought it would once I started to eat it. I figured you couldn’t go wrong with a cheese pizza but yikes! It tasted weird… I can’t even begin to explain it. I tried the salad bar but it wasn’t until more people started to show up that the employees started filling up what was missing that I could make a good salad out of all of it. I also noticed that while I was getting some pizza that the kitchen looked really messy. I know food can get spilled out on to the floor but it looked as if there were crumbs and toppings left on the floor since last week. My stomach started to turn thinking about that and then realizing«I just ate some of this… I think I’m gonna cry.» No, thank you, DoubleDave’s. That was my first, my last but certainly not my everything.
