Nothing more disappointing then ordering a really messy item like the bacon ranch fries from the drive thru then arriving back to the event you left to go get the food to just find out they didn’t give any utensils or napkins this is especially a bummer when you are from out of town and don’t have much of a Back up plan. Also the chili tasted«off» I can’t exactly put my finger on it, it has after all been a decade or two since I myself worked at a wienerschnitzel but if I remember right it’s like when you don’t put enough meat in the chili and its mostly all chili sauce or it could be something else entirely either way it wasn’t right.

Completely and totally under-whelming. For a place that specializes in hot dogs I thought they would well, have good hot dogs. Corn dogs are not hand dipped and are reheated, frozen dogs. I was really hoping for a good corn dog. I also ordered the«street» dogs which were to have bacon, mustard, and GRILLED onions on it. Each did have a strip of bacon, but they also came with ketchup in addition to mustard, and the onions were raw and very strong. The only redeeming item was the jalapeño poppers. They were delicious.

So I was headed to a Salt Lake Bees game, and I thought that maybe I’d have baseball food before getting to the stadium. Wienerschnitzel is nearby, and I’d never tried one, so what the heck… A german sausage house Wienerschnitzel is not. Think mostly hot dogs, with a few sausage offerings, and some pastrami here and there. Rather than be ridiculously gluttonous and order 5 chili dogs for $ 5, I tried what I think is the most expensive item on the menu — their angus beef dog with pastrami and swiss on a pretzel roll.(I think it’s about $ 3.50). I added a «side” – I guess you’d call it that – a chili cheese fry burrito. Yes, it’s what you think it is. But more on that in a minute. The hot dog was underwhelming. The dog itself was fine– sort of bologna tasting, rather unseasoned. But it was plump and did taste like an all-beef dog. The pastrami definitely earned the«meh» rating – underseasoned, extremely thin sliced beef that’s a mere shadow of what good pastrami should be. Finally, the«pretzel» bun was more like a brownish, wrinkly, thick white hot dog bun. Barely pretzel like. If I’d paid half price for the dog, I’d have felt OK about the quality. But for a «gourmet”-like red hot? I’ll pass. I have to say, I’ve eaten a lot of junk food, but I’ve never encountered a chili-cheese fry burrito before. I chose it because it was only 99 cents, and I thought it’d be a convenient way to eat chili cheese fries. It was convenient, but not really tasty. The chili-cheese to fry ratio is about 2:1, so what you get is a chili cheese burrito with a few straw-thin, under fried, shoestring potatoes stuffed in. Chili and cheese tasted like other fast food chili cheese – very artificial, and lacking in beef or beans. If you were jonesing for chili-cheese fries and had to eat them in the car, this may be a way to go. Otherwise something else to skip. Service was average for fast food. Nothing repulsed me at this wiener chain(though that sentence does, a little). And I can say I’ve finally visited a Wienerschnitzel. But I no longer have any desire to go back.
