This is a classy little dive-y liquor store conveniently located near Tropicana Field. It looks like an old auto repair garage. The staff is not particularly attentive or friendly. The store is clean enough. What makes this place 4 stars is I have yet to go in and not find what I’m looking for. And dive-yness goes a long way in making me happy. If you haven’t gone in before, check it out. It’s interesting for sure.

Obviously, what attracted us to this spot was the 1961 neon sign out front. It sports a huge globe that stopped spinning in the 1970’s and stands taller than the building itself. It’s definitely a relic, and I wanted to get a closer gander. Luckily, we were in the market for some bitters, so La Chica and I figured, what the hell? When you walk in, it’s very apparent that this joint has been around for a long, long while. Any liquor, beer or spirits you want, they have it. Also, they probably have any type of viral infection as well. It was both sad and awesome to see this place in such disrepair. I mean, it would only take a few cans of paint and some dusting cloths to drastically improve the appearance of this establishment. BUT, I wasn’t here to stay. I located some bitters, just underneath their impressive MD20⁄20 selection, paid and left. So at the end of the day, the place served it’s purpose.
