Amazingly good food! I usually try and go during happy hour to get their $ 1 tacos… Lots of places do this but I’ve never been to one that makes REALLYGOOD tacos. I’ve had quite a few things on the menu here and have never been disappointed. The staff has always been great. Sometimes I’ll bring my son in with me and they give him free treats!

Came here for Taco Tuesday with a large group of people. $ 1 tacos? Yes please! It should be noted however, that if you’re coming here for Taco Tuesday and expecting normal sized tacos, you will be sorely disappointed– these tacos are the happy hour tacos(aka. a little big than the size of an average person’s palm. I’m guesstimating here…) For the Taco Tuesday tacos, you can order any regular taco with your choice of meat(asada [beef], pollo asado [grilled chicken], carnitas [shredded pork], al pastor [bbq pork], chile verde [pork in green sauce], lengua [beef tongue], corizo [mexican sausage], tripita [tripe], and buche [stomach].) You also get a plate of chips to go with whatever you order. Most of the people in our party ordered 3 – 4 tacos. Those of us who ordered 3 tacos either contemplated ordering an additional taco after we saw how small they were, or were full of chips by the time the tacos arrived that we didn’t care that they were small. Speaking of chips, the salsa was disappointing. They had a green salsa and a red salsa(I know, I am zee best at describing things), but they were both pretty bland. The red salsa seemed like it was just literally chopped up tomatoes. The cashier was pretty friendly. Like I said, we had a large group of people when we came– we pretty much took over the place. I’m impressed that the cashier didn’t get overwhelmed by how long we made the line to her register. I am also quite impressed that she managed to figure out where all our food was supposed to go, given that she never asked for our names when we ordered, and we all dispersed to different tables. Taste-wise, the tacos were alright– they didn’t wow, but they were also $ 1, so I feel like it’s somewhat unjust to complain. Ambience-wise, this place was somewhat lacking in my opinion. Maybe it was because they were sorely understaffed, but the majority of the(empty) tables were littered with dirty plates and glasses. I have a feeling that the person working the register was the lone employee responsible the upkeep of the entire restaurant, and because she was bombarded with taking all of our orders, the tables remained uncleaned. I will also take this time to say that the chair here are particularly unwieldly and are not made for sitting in tight spaces with a bunch of other people. They’re essentially bucket chairs. tl;dr: If I cannot find better $ 1 tacos for my Taco Tuesday cravings, I will be back. If I do… I won’t be back.(Except for once in a blue moon maybe.)

The prices are expensive and the food not that great. It’ll get you out of a mexican food craving bind, but it’ll cost you and you’re not going to get that much. On the plus side, they have pretty good décor, nothing fancy, yet not underwhelming. They have a pretty decent chip and salsa bar. They also have some tvs playing in the background and the bathrooms are pretty nice. The staff was also not the friendliest.

I was craving Mexican food and La Favorita never disappoints only this wasn’t La Favorita. It was not until I finished my order did I notice that this wasn’t the restaurant I thought I drove too. I would give them a chance and I was disappointed. The servers were nice and the burrito was decent. So many things wrong with this place. I don’t mind a run down location as long adrd the food is good, I come to eat but that’s the thing the good was just ok. The chips were old, salsa bar had like 3 different sauces and the usual veggie condiments. The thing is that it wasn’t a serve yourself chips and salsa bar that I was used too, boo! The soda fountain machine was broken too. My burrito came out fast, I ordered the tongue super burrito. It tasted alright, the tongue seemed old and lacked flavor. The burrito wasn’t grilled and it was really wet inside. I won’t be coming back, the service is excellent but it’s a restaurant, the food has to be the star.

I’ve been to this place on three occasions now. Overall i am happy with each experience I’ve had, but i did experience a few things that didn’t jive with me. Upon ordering, one of the cashiers seemed impatient with me when i asked for more details about my order options; the other is that they overcharged me by just under a dollar when my payment posted on my debit account. As for my praises — to me the quality of the food is great. I would say that it is over priced, though, because i feel like there are so many other competitively priced places around that are a much better value. But this place is right by my work, so i settle. They have a daily list of specials which are the only things that i found to be a good value-but only bc they were on special. They skimp on meat in my opinion. I have ordered double meat every time and honestly when i comes out i can’t help but chuckle slightly bc it seems like its barely one serving. This is regarding the two things I’ve tried thus far– chicken fajita plate and chicken soft tacos. Other authentic places I’ve been to have twice the meat standard at a regular menu price. So that’s my two cents. It is very tasty, well made food. You can see and hear the kitchen staff at work sizzling up meat. Its clean and festive. If i had money to spare id be able to frequent more often, but still double up on my meat quantity preferences. **Edit — Thank you to rep Evelia M. who addressed all of my concerns. It gives some perspective and makes perfect sense to me. Thanks for the tip on the debit transaction. I’ll be sure to keep all that in mind as I know I’ll probably patronize your restaurant again soon. As I said the quality of the food is great. :)

Today was just one of those days where I was craving Mexican food; luckily, this restaurant was just around the block! Customer service was great! Cashiers we’re friendly. The meal of the day was a Quesadilla De Carne Asada! They packed quite a bit of meat on there! Grilled to perfection with cheese as well. Beans and rice were fantastic! A– !

This is my go-to Mexican restaurant when I just want some good authentic Mexican food. It’s not super fancy & it’s in a less-than-ritzy part of town. But the place is clean, there’s plenty of seating for small and large groups and the price is excellent. I recommend this place over and over again.

I came here thinking it was La Favorita little did I Know they closed the place down. Since I was meetings mother for lunch we decided to give it a shot. Everything looked pretty similar to the restaurant that was once there, I ordered the fish tacos. Sadly, I was a little disappointed. The fish didn’t seem to be cooked all the way and it seemed a little too greasy. The décor was nice inside typical mexican restaurant, however we came on a 95 degree usual sacramento day and I’m not sure if the air conditioner was broken or not but it kinda made you not want to sit and eat. I will give the benefit of the doubt since they are new owners and probably will try it again in the future.

Great staff! Very friendly and helpful. The reviews I have read are on point. I’ve been here a few times and mostly I am a fan. Though my recent visit left a bad feeling in my stomach. I usually end up having the chicken burrito with no issues except maybe a bone or two. Burritos are good size so you will not be leaving hungry. The free chips and salsa are good as well. I do get a good chuckle at the taped signs on the door and the missing handle. All around, if you are in these parts, check it out for yourself.

In this part of town, Mexican food is not hard to come by. Every shopping center in the Fruitridge/Stockton area offers at least one option, and they can be hit-and-miss. Pancho Villa isn’t the best, but it is certainly solid. I’ve become a fan of their vegetarian burrito, which is hefty. It is a little more expensive than I’d like to see, but they didn’t charge me for the extra cheese, so I won’t complain. There is a free chips and salsa bar, which is always appreciated, but their salsa isn’t my favorite. All around solid, but nothing special. If nothing else, you’ll probably see some wacky sights in the parking lot…

Really tasteless food. Over cooked meat. Huge portions, but this is one of the worst Mexican food places I have been to. Try local Taqueria on Alhambra by Safeway or Jimboys. They at least care about food prep.

I feel the food was better when it was La Favorita. Although one of the ladies working there said that it was the same menu, I could for sure taste the difference, along with the guac salsa missing from the salsa bar. It’s decent, but have had much better, however it’s not as noisy as many of the other taquerias in Sacramento.

You know a Mexican food joint is good when the paper signs taped to the menu are to help the English-speakers out. And they were helpful. There was some stuff in there I had to look up on my phone — and a vat of some kindof milky looking drink on ice. I didn’t stray far from the safe zone and went«Cripsy tacos». They were indeed crispy and delicious. And other than said taped signs and a fairly non-classy location across from Thrifttown, the ambiance proved to be refreshing, lively and a perfect place to pig out on a weekend afternoon. If I had to find something wrong it would be that the outside of the tacos were slathered with sour cream and guac, making for a real messy eating experience. But really now, if «being slathered in sour cream and guac» is bad, I don’t want to be good.

The vegetarian options here are excellent and filling. They have a salsa bar with free chips and salsa– overall, not too bad. I recommend the vegetarian burrito or the taco salad with no meat. The food is cheap but the drinks are a bit overpriced. This is NOT the place to go if you want meat in your food. The beef was way overcooked and tasted like it had been reheated from yesterday’s leftovers. The ceviche– forget about it. I dare not ask what they use in their mix.

I was very happy I decided to try this restaurant. The food is very good — I get the enchilada plate with grilled chicken. The meat quality is high considering the low prices of the food. There are free tortilla chips with under a heat lamp and a salsa bar that tide me over till the food comes. Always a good experience!
