This Jimboy’s location is pretty consistently good in their quality. Just about everything on the menu is good, although you’re better off ordering one of the combos because the a la carte items add up pretty quickly. I don’t really care for their enchilada sauce, which is unfortunate, but their shredded beef tacos are excellent.

When did simple bean and cheese burritos cost 2.95 ?! Jimboys your tacos are good, your burritos are the same but your prices suck. And at this particular location the employees are always hella rude.

The restaurant was sparkling clean, I was pleasantly surprised considering the location and the volume of costumers.

I couldn’t believe how skimpy the servings were they must have been out of compliance with jimboys corporate I feel really taken advantage of jimboy’s is already a little more expensive than other restaurants but they taste a lot better never the less you expect to get full for the amount you pay for the food I will never go to this one again the chicken quesadillas with would not fill up my 3 year old

Great food and fresh. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because it’s a little small and not much parking. Great customer service too

I use to go here until they charged me .35 cents for a refill! I will take my business to the one on Franklin and Fruitridge.

We have been to this location several times and always go for the tacos. Something addictive about parmesan coated tortilla shells and gooey goodness on the inside. The staff is always friendly and service quick, so definitely one of our go to spots when we have a hankering for Jimboys’ take on tacos!

For a taco stand, they are pretty good. The El Gordo is a really good taco and I recommend it if you can handle the price. It’s clean enough. The staff is neutral — neither friendly nor hostile. They usually get the order correct — which is saying something these days. I guess my real complaint would be the prices. It is greatly over-priced for what you get. Oh, and avoid the«guacamole» which is more like avocado dressing and *really* not worth the price. They charge for drink refills too. I avoid the place these days. I might go there once or twice a year if they offer a good coupon for the El Gordo. YMMV

I haven’t been to a Jimboys since I lived in Palm Springs and that was almost ten years ago now. If I had remembered how much I disliked it I wouldn’t have gone last week. I don’t think I will be going back. I ordered the daily special, two tacos with thick potato fries and two tacos for $ 6.99, BF got the burrito plate for $ 7.99, and got my dad his own order of tacos $ 1.79 each(he got five so he could have some for later too), for which he was craving and was the sole reason us to even go there. The tacos were fine. just as greasy as I remembered, and while not very good were what I expected. The only thing I like about these tacos are the Parmesan cheese on the sides of the shells. The meat is okay, the cheese inside is gross and tastes like canned cheese, and the grease dripping off is pretty gross. I didn’t finish my tacos put did eat all of my potato fries dipped in the hottest salsa they had, that was pretty good. My BF is not one to leave leftovers. He ate the tortillas that came with his meal and one bite of the burrito and put it back down. I have very seldom seen him do this and I was shocked. He told me to taste it and I could see why it wasn’t good. The burrito was mushy and tasteless, the beans were cold, and the rice, omg, was sweet! How in the world??? It was gross and only the lettuce, cilantro, and tomato mix was edible. Service was nice and fast however. I wish that could make up for the lousey food. In short, I won’t be returning.

Tacos are amazing to say the least! Had the shredded beef tacos with their green salsa. Very cheap place to eat as well

Love love love their tacos! I must say they are kinda addicting. Their salads are good too. A little more expensive than most fast food places, but definitely worth it. The service has always been great at this location too!

If you love Sacramento — you must love Jimboys! If you understand the magic of parmesan cheese sprinkled over a crispy taco — you must love Jimboys! If you know that truly great Mexican comes from hole-in-the-wall joints as opposed to nationwide franchises — you MUST love Jimboys! Seriously, truly delicious tacos. Crispy, greasy in the best way, filled with lettuce and cheese, and topped with a divine sprinkling of parmesan to give it a salty gourmet kick — this might just change the way you cook tacos at home forever. It did for my family — I grew up eating tacos this way thanks to my dad stealing their culinary tricks! It’s just that good! The nachos and enchiladas are tasty here too, worthy of any small taqueria. But it truly is all about the tacos. If I type taco one more time, my keyboard will short circuit — cuz I’m making myself drool thinking about Jimboys tacos! *ZAP* There it goes, no more typing for me! Time to get a taco! See? They’re so good, they make me crazy!

Think of Taco Bell, just better. That’s Jimboys. This was only my second time having Jimboys and it was just as good as the first. We went in for an early lunch and ordered six tacos for the three of us. 2 for $ 3.00, not a bad deal. Oh plus they have Mr. Pib. How many places can say they have Mr. Pib? Well one for sure. The tacos here are awesome. The tortillas are dusted with parmesan cheese. The cheese is melted on the inside. The beef is actually seasoned quite well, and topped with lettuce. You can’t just have one. This might be fast food, but in my opinion it’s a higher quality fast food. It’s fast food that cares about what they’re cooking. I only had one problem here. It wasn’t the place, it wasn’t the food and it wasn’t the service. It has nothing to do with the restaurant at all, but another customer there. Because of that I will not go into it. I just want to say this too all the parents out there. Spend more time watching your kids, and less time on your phone. Sorry Terri: P

What can really be said about Jimboy’s that hasn’t been said a million times. They’re a chain, their menus don’t vary and things haven’t changed much at their core for about as long as I can remember. And I love it! This review is not about the company as a whole but rather about this particular location. Not once, in the dozen or so times I’ve been here, have I experianced anything but a fully satisfying and enjoyable experience. The staff is hard working and polite. The restaurant itself is always clean and well-stocked. And my food has been nothing less that exactly hat I expected. Simple happiness but happiness nonetheless! My proverbial sombrero is off to all the folks who make this my Jimboy’s location of choice! Keep keeping me happy and you’ll have a repeat customer for as long as the status quo remains as such. Oh boy indeed!

Its the Universe’s ultimate taunt that the Stockton Blvd. Jimboys is right next to my place of exercise. I’m proud to say that 98% of the time I can resist the post-workout olfactory temptations. However, only about 2% of the time can I resist the post-night-of-too-many-cocktails temptations. This is the best hangover food on the planet. My fave is the two beef tacos with the corn tortilla shells that have been fried and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. With the beans and rice safely in their to-go container corners, and with an extra hot flour tortilla for good measure, I can savor this meal way too long and go into a blissful food coma for much longer. Dare I say that it then compels me to workout another day. Oh Jimboys. How I love you.

I once had a very traumatic experience. After moving down to SoCal, I had an intense craving for Jimboy’s(this is not unusual). I hopped online to find the closest one– and found out they were only a LOCAL chain! Oh the horror! Needless to say, Jimboy’s was always the first stop on the way back from the airport when I visited home. Now that I’m back in Sac, this is a meal a couple times a month(it’d be way more if I still had the metabolism of my undergrad years…) AWESOME tacos, there’s nothing else like them! And the bean and cheese burrito is amazing… it’s the most boring thing on any menu, but for some reason, it’s soooo good here!

Seriously — best beef tacos EVER!!! I used to live in Sac and we’d hit Jimboy’s all the time. I have yet to find a place that sprinkles parmesan cheese on the taco shell. GENIUS. I’ve since moved and haven’t had Jimboy’s in at least 14 years so when we were in town last month, best believe I hit them up. Just as deeeeelish I remember. Even my son, who doesn’t like anybody’s tacos but mine, was hooked. The next time I’m in Sac, which won’t be for a while, thankfully, Jimboy’s is first on my to do list!

Jimboy’s is some solid Mexican food. I wouldn’t call any of it healthy — they seem to fry most everything, including some of the burritos — but it is pretty darn good. The enchalada combo plate is a personal favorite. It includes a side of rice and beans, along with an extra tortilla, so you have the option of making an additional burrito! That’s pretty sweet. The tacos are also quite tasty, and it’s all reasonably priced. The drive thru is the best part about this place. If you’re willing to throw in a few extra bucks, you’ll get a better meal than you would have at Taco Bell, and it won’t take much longer. I don’t know how authentic(or healthy) any of it is, but it’s pretty darn satisfying.
