If I could add half a star I would do so. I used a groupon to go here which help lessen the blow. Food quality: 5 Stars very fresh Wait staff: 3.25 Stars Needed some work and needed to check in a little bit more. Product value 2.25 Stars: Based on the quality it was good but not for the price. If you are going to serve a 16 dollar plate of artisan cheese then make sure there are crackers with it. As far as the pizza and price put some cheese on my pizza… and basil…4 leaves of basil is just not acceptable. Dessert was a bit ridiculous 6 dollars for a small dollop of chocolate pudding. We are not in San Francisco or New York.

We called for reservations, and we were told no reservations. We arrived at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Several open tables. The server doing reservations reported that they were out of pizza dough! He said«its been crazy!» He offered us a dinner of antipasto. Terrible service, another snotty pizza place poorly managed. Go to Hot Italian instead, much more reliable. How can a competent pizza operation run out of dough an hour before it stops serving. Horrible service.

Live super close to this place. Food is so good, but I can’t get past the prices for such small portions. The pizza is the best flatbread pizza you can find downtown. I noticed they keep running groupon promotions and wonder had they just not been so expensive in the first place if business would be better. Service isn’t the best but I haven’t definitely had worse. Arugula salad is absolutely tasty, but again is so pricy and little I usually just opt out of it. Lower your prices and we would be there so much more often.

This place gets one star. My girlfriend and I heard about this place and were excited to try it. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and the place was not that busy. There were plenty of open tables. When we approached the hostess, she asked a server where to sit us. He looked clueless. She came back to us and said that they are«expecting to get busier and want to keep the table tops open for larger parties». Keep in mind, there was no one else waiting for a table besides us. We were seated right next to a group, so close that the intimacy of the date was ruined. We left. I cannot believe our money is less valuable and were denied seating because there was just the two of us.

Don’t come here if you want vegetables. I ordered the Chef’s Special Vegetarian. I was told it varies depending on what vegetables they are featuring that night. What I got was tasteless cheese, a few onions and a couple of olives. I actually wanted some vegetables. And the crust was crisp on the edges but soggy in the middle. I will have to keep trying elsewhere to find good pizza.

Divine food, service and ambiance. Truly the only pizza I’ve tasted in the States that rivals the pizza in Italy. Pricey, but worth it.

Two stars because it was ok, but I didn’t feel that it measured up to the prices. We went with two other couples, and it was a 30 minute wait to be seated because there are only seven tables(5 two-seaters and 2 long tables for communal seating). We ordered the Jacqueline(Potato, Fontina, Bacon, Oregano). I liked this combination, and thought it was simple but unique. The size of the pizzas were a little small and the thinner crust meant that when it was split between two people we weren’t exactly full after. This was echoed by the rest of our group as well. For pizzas that range from $ 16-$ 18 a piece, I think that’s a problem. Our server was very friendly and our food came out quickly. I also had another issue. We were seated at one of the long tables, right next to another group. So close, that I could touch elbows with the guy seated next to me. When they were loud, it was hard to hear the people in my party talking because I was practically with the other group. I thought this was a strange set-up. I also thought that it was an odd policy to maintain the one-groupon-per-table rule in this setting. Because if we had just waited and been sat separately from our party, we would have still been seated at the giant communal table with them. We thought it would have been easier on the hostess to just have us all shown to the table together when we saw the layout. I mentioned this to the girl who came over to explain the policy, but she literally just repeated herself saying that it was one groupon allowed per table… So not super helpful and didn’t address my concern with how silly that seemed given the circumstances…

The pizza was pretty good, similar to the pizza you get in Italy. It’s a really thin crust with a good chew to it. Really light on the toppings. I thought was the sauce was good, not to spicy and just the right amount of acid. The dough itself is pretty neutral. It’s Tough to get a seat if you have a party larger than 4. 2 is ideal. We had a party of 6, got there at 5:15 and had to wait for about 30 minutes. There are two long tables that can seat about 14. It would be cool if you had a party of 14 and could get the whole table. Unfortunately they don’t take reservations. Fairly expensive for what you get. We got 4 pizzas for 3 adults and 3 children and ate it ALL. I think there are 2 regular parking spaces and 1 handicapped space. so you pretty much have to park on the street somewhere. All of the businesses next door have signs that say tow away 24⁄7.

Great pizza, but service starting to deteriorate. Last time I stopped by they were out of dough. They said come in and you can have pasta and soup. Once seated they then told us they had only one pasta and one soup option. They should have closed if they can’t serve more than two things. So then I called tonight to get some pizzas to-go. They said they aren’t doing to-go right now because they were too busy. Service is on the slide downward. Hot Italian has now become my go to place. Too much frustration here.

This is a great establishment. Excellent pizzas, salads and the like. The décor is very industrial, which is unique and pleasing. You cannot go wrong here.

I wanted to love this place, but it was disappointing. I kept seeing their groupon ad and was hankering for wood fired pizza, but they’re just not making pizza up to par. Wood fired pizza should be thin and crispy, this pizza was crispy only on the edges, the rest of it was soft, doughy and weighed down by grease. We had the 3 meat pizza, our 8 piece pizza had a total of 4 pieces of sausage on it. The sauce is greasy and bland, the dough is yeasty and rubbery, the cheese was tepid and undercooked, it didn’t even melt. Like previous reviewers have stated, awkward seating, long waits, and rude staff. The concept here is good but the reality is a miss. Perhaps they’re experiencing growing pains and haven’t found their flow yet, but they’re not going to unless they get some competent and friendly people to start running this joint. Service bad Ambiance bad Food bad Sadly this place is only good in theory.

Great handmade thin crust Pizza. Not too much cheese and light on the sauce if any. Our favorites are the Gilda and Marguerite. We try a new one each week we go. Absolutely in love with their salads. With Simple, light dressings the salads compliment the pizza. The Fall Chop is addictive and the Arugula Salad is comfort food. Like that the salad is not over dressed. Allows for the flavors of the greens and fruit to shine through. I’d have to say the pizzas are best enjoyed at the restaurant fresh out of the brick wood fired oven. So Delish! As for drinks they have a house made ginger ale that is so good.

Overrated! This place looks wonderful on Unilocal, and honestly, the food looks promising in person; however, neither are true when it hits your mouth. Lacking flavor in various dishes,(Rosemary bread, meatballs, and the Mustafa) this place will leave you feeling very disappointed. In addition to the lack-luster cuisine, the seating is limited and awkward. If you have over two people, you are guaranteed to share a bench and table with other guests. Also, if there is a large party, you are left at their will.(A group of 3 was ahead of us, and we ended up having to wait for them to sit down, eat, and leave before any other table opened up. We then took their table after waiting an hour.) There are so many other Italian/pizza places to spend your time, money, and hopes in Sacramento.

Terrible. SNOOTY, hostess and waitress. We waited for almost an hour even though we were told 15 – 20 minutes. Not enough seating, we tried a little of everything(rosemary bread, meatballs and 2 different pizzas) we didn’t like anything. This place is sooooo over rated. A huge disappointment!!!

Masulla Pizza is a great place to dine and enjoy your company. The food was really good and the services you can enjoy. Me and my date ordered Antipasto for starter and Margherita. I really enjoyed the Antipasto. Think I can eat that every day. Next up was the Margherita pizza. I really like the dough. Guess the wood-fired oven makes a big difference. After devouring that, I was still hungry so I ordered the 3 Meat pizza. Was only able to take down half of it and have it box. My eyes were doing the eating and stomach was telling me to stop. All in all, I like my experience. Wait staff were attentive, food was great. What else can I asked for? I’m giving it a 4-star. Check it out if you haven’t.

Hands down, my go-to pizza in Sacramento. Perfect, thin-crust pizza that may be light on the toppings but still manages to be huge on flavor. The crust itself is amazing – especially when it gets that nice char around the edges. We usually order the ‘four-cheese’ pizza – it’s not on the menu anymore but they’ll still make it for you. Add grated parmesa(five-cheese pizza!) and hot chili oil for perfection. Their arugula salad is also wonderful – peppery arugula with thinly sliced fennel, shaved grana padano, toasted almonds and meyer lemon vinaigrette. So, so good. Oh, and it comes with wedges of rosemary bread. I always tell myself I won’t finish the rosemary bread(So. Many. Carbs.) I always end up lying to myself.

While the pizzas are a bit small(I devoured mine in minutes) they are quite delicious and probably the best ones I’ve had in Sacramento. Some are a bit more oily than others(especially if they have meat on them) so prepare to have messy fingers. The atmosphere is great, the waiters are accommodating and the wait isn’t too long. Now granted I’ve come during odd hours before the dinner rush or right before it closes so it wasn’t ever too crowded. For the price however I wish I received a bigger piece.

My neighborhood pizza spot. So good, that I try to keep him to myself, but that’s just selfish. Masullo has an ever changing seasonal menu and every time I come I try something new. I have yet to be disappointed. Their house wine? delicious… Their oven brick pizza? crispy, cheesy goodness… Their seasonal salad? I don’t leave one lick of food on that plate… Their MASULLOBREAD??? I pick that up at Taylor’s Market on a regular basis, it’s so good. Just try it. You owe me.

I found the Gilda pizza with mozzarella, fontina, onions, olives, and persillade to be absolutely delicious. We also got the one with salami, but I can’t remember the ladyname. It looks pretty spiffy inside this place, even though we just ordered take-out. Minus one star for the pizza being floppy. It’s supremely thin and they cook it in their fancy brick over, but it was still flopstyle. I’m sure I’ll be back.

Not all pizzas are the same. Neapolitan pizza cooked in a traditional wood fired oven. Slightly chewy crust and the best tomato sauce around, such a simple and clean taste. A simple non-overwhelming menu, just enough for your enjoyment. Not one of those greasy heavily topped pizza places, just simplicity at its best. I’m not a big fan of salads but I almost always get one here. The salads are plentiful and great blend of mostly local fruits and veggies. Most salads come with their lattice bread, lightly salted and crisp. Try the house made ginger ale for a nice refreshing drink, there is also beer and wine available. Some of the most impressive service in Sacramento… at a pizza restaurant… right. Whether the owner(Robert) is there or not, the service has always been exquisite. Very family friendly with a baby changing pad in one of the restrooms fully stocked with wet wipes. Occasionally the kids would be able to throw a piece of wood into the oven.
