Great crab! Food was plentiful and of great quality. The margaritas were great too! Will definitely be going back soon. Had a brownie for dessert, our waitress even heated it up for us and threw some ice cream on it. Speaking of waitress, our waitress, Jessie was great. She had a great personality and was speedy with everything. I highly recommend asking for her specifically! If you’re seeing this Jessie, you’re awesome! :)

Waitress was not friendly, she paid little or no attention to me. I ordered Clam Chowder and there was more shells than chowder! My drink was never refilled, and she never once came by and asked if we needed anything, I was given about a tablespoon serving of tartar sauce which was gone almost immediately and she never came back until it was time to pay the check!

Food is unique and delicious. There is also a kids menu with more common foods such as pizza, in case your child does not like seafood. The waitstaff are generally polite and fun, however you can tell when they are having to take on more tables then they can handle. Pretty common in the food industry. The only complaint(and why I’m giving 3 stars) is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Almost every time I go, there is some sort of trash or food on the ground, or a table that has not been bussed and is starting to smell. This is such a fun restaurant, but the lack of proper cleanliness can ruin an appetite.

Very disappointed! Although all of the staff was friendly, we started with dirty forks and it was downhill from there! The shrimp I ordered were tasteless, except for the taste of grease! Then I bit into a shrimp that had not been properly cleaned! I guess I should have ordered shrimp, hold the poop!!! My granddaughter’s popcorn shrimp were also tasteless with the breading falling off, cold fries, and her piece of cake for her birthday was frozen almost solid! I have gone to many different Joe’s Crab Shacks, from the east coast to Texas, and by far this food was the WORST I have ever been served at any other Joe’s Crab shack!!! I won’t be going to this location again! Bad ending to a great day!

The food wasn’t cooked all the way through. Multiple pieces of crunchy rice. Waitress forgot my meal came with hush puppies after she brought them I didn’t see her the rest of the night. Had the popcorn shrimp. The breading was already halfway off the shrimp. My fries had obvious freezer burn on them and were discolored. Came on a whim. Won’t have another one of those.

It was decent and very friendly service. You know what your getting at a typical chain restaurant. Same old, same old. Nothing really bad to say though.

Absolutely terrible seafood. I ordered the seafood platter. Service was great. Nothing tastes fresh except for the French fries. The side salad I ordered had minimal green lettuce. I feel ripped off by the price, complete lack of taste and quality of food.

Wow, I came a decade ago. An underwhelming remains of a dying restaurant with mediocre food and disinterested staff. Like eating at a nursing home, only less entertaining. Oh, and expensive for a shriveled, lonely bunch of overcooked and overly-salty crustaceans accompanied by a single greasy sausage.

My all time favorite place to eat. The staff at this location is always so sweet and fun. The snow crab is hands down the best. A bucket of food is just the best! ;)

I went here about a week ago and the food was decent but it was not busy at all and took just over an hour for our food to come out. We almost left. I’m not sure why it took so long because there was only about 10 other tables and a lot of people working. I’ll probably go back just cuz it’s close but I wish they wouldn’t take so long, it’s been this way almost every time I’ve been here.

Bad experience, server did ask if anything was needed. However, no butter or other needed utensils were brought without asking for the item one by one.

Delightful lunch to end the summer, our waiter Andrew was prompt and very attentive. Enjoyed his dancing as well! Hubby and I shared the Artic steam pot which was great. he had a lobster and I had snow crab! The s’mores dessert was deliously burnt which I loved! Abit pricy though. Was very happy with our meal and pleased after reading some of the negative reviews.

Yum! First time here and I loved it. Best fried shrimp I’ve probably ever had. Husband’s crab was delicious. He got the steam pot. Best hush puppies ever and I don’t even like hush puppies! Only docking one star for price, loud, and hot inside.

I’m done with this location. It just keeps getting worse. Food is usually not done and needs to be sent back. That ruins the shrimp. Service blows Toby. I saw my food siting for 15mins and the manager finally brought it out after standing there looking at the waiter(who was talking).

I wouldn’t keep coming back if I didn’t love the crab dip. To be honest the services isn’t always spectacular but I chalk it up to they just got through the lunch rush when I’ve arrived so I’m willing to cut them some slack. Coconut Shrimp is awesome and their Mudslides are pretty darn good too! Great for hanging out to work on the free Wi-Fi versus being stuck in the office for lunch.

As my hungry kids and I were headed back to Harker Heights from the Austin China Center, we decided to drop in on Joe’s Crab Shack for lunch. The kids were excited as it was our first experience at this particular restaurant. The ambiance inside is fun and my 6 year old son really loved the big shark hanging from the ceiling. The hostess was friendly and she asked if my daughter(who is 12) would like a kid’s menu or an adult menu — which was fabulous. I’m glad she didn’t just«assume». She then seated us promptly and let us know who our server would be. We had Andrea and Bay waiting on us today — Andrea being the«seasoned pro» and Bay being a new team member. They were great! Andrea and Bay were very personable and they made us feel welcome and comfortable. They didn’t rush us to order, asking if we needed more time or if we were ready. They spoke directly to my children when it came time to take our order — smiling and laughing with them. My son had the kid’s pizza with applesauce — and even though my son is a very picky eater and no he doesn’t always eat everyone’s pizza — he cleaned his plate — which of course made me happy. My daughter — whom I let order off the adult menu — had the Seaside Platter. She too ate everything with gusto and yes, we all tried a little something off each other’s plate — I tried one of her breaded scallops and one of her crunchy jumbo shrimp and they were so delicious. I ended up with the East Coast Platter which was just fabulous. The fish from the«fish and chips» portion of the platter was really good! The crunch and taste of the batter on the fish was amazing — the fish inside the batter was just as delicious. The crab stuffed shrimp(my daughter swapped one of mine for hers LOL) was perfect and a delight to eat — and the lump meat crab cake was amazing. I ate some of the onion strings that were on my platter but no fries — but not because there was anything wrong with them — I simply got full off the seafood itself. The manager of the restaurant was walking around and checking with tables — she made it past our table twice — and she was very pleasant and personable. I appreciate her taking the time to make sure our lunch was good. The server, Andrea, came by to ask us how Bay was doing and to make sure we were pleased with his service — I appreciate the trainer checking with the customers on the trainee. It shows that they care about the customers and the staff. One thing that I really appreciated was something Bay did in regards to refilling my drink — most of the time, restaurants bring me a refill on my drink without asking or before I’m even half empty and it always makes me feel«rushed» — as if I have to hurry and drink the one I have so I can start drinking the one they just brought me(trying to not be wasteful of the product and the effort I guess) — but Bay checked first and when I told him«no thank you, not yet» he said okay. But I feel like he was paying attention to our needs because when my glass got down to the last ¼ of Coke, he brought my refill — perfect timing AND he remembered that I had a lemon with my coke and added that to my refill as well. Which was super great because I have NEVER had my lemon on a refill without me having to ask for it. So I’d like to thank all the staff at Joe’s Crab Shack for making our experience a good one — everyone from the kitchen staff, to the wait staff to the hostess. It was a real pleasure and helped turn our day around.

The waitress was really nice, almost too nice. She seemed to almost be flirting with my husband. I noticed another reviewer said a waiter was flirting with his Mom. Perhaps the management should nip this. The food is pretty good, but it’s not as good as it used to be. I am not dying to go back anytime soon, maybe that is why it was years since my last visit.

I’m giving 5 stars for the excellent service from our server Percy and for the manager. If you come here ask for him. He is awesome. The 2 stars is for the quality of food. The Cesar salad I had was ok, the shoestring onion rings were still liquid batter in some places and the fried shrimp was terrible and rubbery. When I bit into the shrimp I could tell it wasn’t cooked all the way through, and when I picked at the shoestring onion rings I was grossed out by the sight. I’ll go to Red Lobster next time. Also the snow crab my boyfriend had stuck to the shell and was hard to get out.

This was our first visit to this particular Joe’s. My wife had the coconut shrimp, they were very good, this chain seems to do these better than anyone else, except for the Hula Hut in Austin. I had the fried shrimp. They were very good but maybe a little undercooked, every time i’d dip into my cocktail sauce some of the breading would fall off my shrimp, mentioned that fact to our waiter when he asked how everything was, next thing i knew the manager had 6 more fried shrimp with batter that had some staying power delivered to my table, that is great customer service, we’ll definitely be back for more shrimpies and service. The cole slaw that came with both our meals was very good, nice crunch and freshness and just barely sweet, just the way we like it.
