It has an Alice in Wonderland theme. Definitely not all for kids, it’s upscale but not snooty. All clothing styles welcomed. They have a party room for Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. They have actual people dressed up in costume to serve and«play» with the guests. I went over 3 weeks ago but I was very impressed with the food, service and ambience. Boyfriend had the swordfish with this AMAZING spaghetti squash side. I kept finding myself eating off his plate for that wonderful side. I also had a fish dish with lump crabmeat. All real… no fillers here. I highly recommend going when they open. It’s a small place and during winter nowhere to hang out… this spring be great outside with a glass of wine. They also have amazing drinks.

I love this place! The Scarlet Rabbit’s menu and décor is a tasteful, themed take on Alice in Wonderland. Had the Oyster Nachos and a burger on challah with fries. The oyster nachos may sound odd, but they are a must. Will definitely be back and will recommend.

Lots of character, good food. Incase you can’t tell this is a Alice in Wonderland theme’d restaurant. Pretty cool, the outside tree is amazing. Indoor seating is a bit small, but food was good.

Went with friends that live in WilCo that raved about the joint. Got there with a late reservation, seated promptly. The outdoor area looks awesome, but the cold weather kept us inside. I get the décor… Not really my scene, but it’d be considered fun here. The waitress seemed troubled by us. She wasn’t rude, but not polite either. She seemed annoyed when we asked questions. She didn’t split the tab, but she put one of the couples on their own tab. An extra appetizer and an extra meal were brought to our table that we didn’t order(we told her and we were not charged). The water glasses were half filled at one point, but another round of drinks wasn’t even offered. Just a bit crappy, but not TERRIBLE. Maybe we should go earlier in the evening, but our friends had a reservation. Most places in Austin set a «last table seated at» or «kitchen closes at» time so it doesn’t feel like you are inconveniencing them. It would piss some people off, but we just chalked it up to being the end of the shift. The food was also meh… I got the burger and a wedge and the wife got rabbit pot pie. The wedge was the best part of the meal, but the burger was woe-fully undercooked, nowhere close to medium-rare. The bun was good, but the meat just made it meh. The wife enjoyed the rabbit pot pie, but wasn’t blown away. She said it came out lukewarm, but didn’t complain so we can’t blame them. The cocktail menu looked good, but we didn’t have the opportunity to try anything from it. All in all, it was okay; We got to see our friends and hang out, but that was the memorable part of the evening. Not the food or service. I’d give it another shot, but I don’t plan to have the opportunity.

Okay so this is it. I’ve finally found my perfect brunch place! We tried this place for the first time this weekend and they surpassed our expectations. We didn’t have to wait for a table at all. Which was nice, but concerning because we thought there was a reason it wasn’t that popular? Not at all. The place is super adorable and delivers in atmosphere. The staff was welcoming and prompt to bring us our waters and our drinks. The Bloody Mary and Black Beard with Scarlet Highlights were delicious! I had the New Orleans Eggs Benedict. GREAT! Perfectly cooked eggs and the saltiness of the fried oysters added another level of flavor. Plus, their home fries are the BEST I have ever tasted. Oh, and the English muffins… don’t get me started. Perfectly toasted and buttery. Just a really well rounded, super flavorful dish. My husband ordered the Hatter’s Burger.(I of course stole a couple of bites!) The bread is made in house. And it is phenomenal! I don’t know what they’re doing to their vegetables either but they were so fresh and crispy. And again, the fries were to die for. Perfectly seasoned with some spiciness, sweetness, saltiness… I don’t even know anymore how to describe them. If they only sold fries — I’d still come here all the time. I’m so excited to make this my new get together spot on weekends with friends and family to enjoy some nice drinks and food. And I am more than excited to try new dishes from here. I think they have so much to offer!

This place has potential, I’ll give it that. The décor is Alice in Wonderland themed and quirky, but charming in its own way. Our server Cameron was great as well; however, I’m sadly unimpressed with the smoked rabbit and andouille sausage gumbo I ordered. I’m not saying the flavors were bad(I know this because I tried my partner’s gumbo, which was prepared correctly), but my particular gumbo was burned. I didn’t notice it at first, but after getting about halfway through my gumbo, I started running into little burned bits and the flavor of the gumbo itself just had a burned taste to it. Very disappointing. I may come back and give this place another chance, just be warned the kitchen may not provide a consistent experience. A table next to us had cut their meal short because of the quality of the food as well. Fortunately, the drinks we ordered were good at least, particularly the Queen of hearts.

Went some friends for dinner last night and after hearing awesome things about the scarlet rabbit, we decided to try it out. I must say, that was a damn fine idea! We went a little crazy with the cocktail menu as all of it sounded delicious(ps, they were!) the food was good, my favorite was the brussel sprouts. Food aside, this place is beautiful and a must stop if you are in the area!

If you love Alice in Wonderland you will love this place. Even if you don’t like Alice it is must see and eat in place. Décor is fantastic, even our server(Carla or Carol I am not sure) reminded me of a rabbit in a hurry(she was playing the part and it was wonderful) Her service was outstanding, not overbearing but very attentive. Now the food: we ordered oyster chips. It was big fat breaded oyster on a chip. Heaven in your mouth! I ordered pappardelle with pumpkin and my son ordered rabbit gumbo. Both dishes very flavorful and tasty and beautifully presented. My son ordered a drink«down the rabbit hole». For me it was too tart but he liked it quite a bit. Overall, if I could give 10 stars, I would. Totally worth the trip to Roundrock!

One of my absolute favorite Round Rock dining spots. My gluten free hamburger is incredibly well priced, delicious and flavorful. Every salad or appetizer that I have gotten there has been top notch. The backyard patio for brunch with cheap mimosas and incredible breakfast food easily became my number one local brunch spot. Lovely décor. Great place to take work clients or friends to show off Round Rock. I am a big fan.

I absolutely love the décor of this restaurant, as the name suggests, it pays homage to Alice in Wonderland. We went for Sunday brunch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Although it was packed, the service didn’t falter and the food arrived in a timely manner.

First time having rabbit. The meat was mild and moist. Rabbit Pot pie was very good. Fresh made cracker complimented the dish. I will be back to try the fish tacos forsure. I also had the chocolate dictdence. It was gluten free. But still yummy.

Loved the sirloin cooked to perfection along with seasonal veggies and a scarlet tater/beet concoction that tasted amazing. My wife loved her hatter burger which was a mix of hamburger and brisket, the hand cut fries were as good as any we’ve had. Opted for and enjoyed the hibiscus iced tea, our very efficient and friendly/informative server Rita even offered to get her and I tea to go. Great food and service means we’ll return for more, may do the chicken and waffles next time. We showed up at 4 and had the place to ourselves, all the road construction in this area is worth the trouble of finding great food. Pretty cool décor.

I’m glad I’m came to find out for myself about this place, not quite sure yet how I truly feel about it though… the house is very cute & had the whole Alice in Wonderland theme going on. so I thought it was very unique, however the food was really good but… I must admit that my BFs steak was a bit cold, & hard to cut, so we had to ask the waitress if she could heat it up a bit longer, after the 2nd time around it was just ok. we didn’t want to complain too much about it bc we wanted so bad to really like this new place. Now on the other hand my drum fish was really really good. So I guess now we know what NOT to order there if we go back. The ribeye steak was the Friday night special btw. It came with some kind of rice stuffing & corncob pieces for $ 30. My Drum fish was $ 17… So the BF should of listened to me & just had gotten what I had… Lol But can’t wait to go back in the spring for some drinks on the back patio.

I personally ADORE this cute little spot of whimsy that is, for once, on the North side of the Austin metro area. From the name Scarlet Rabbit, you might guess that Alice in Wonderland and all things Leporidae are referenced throughout, from the food & drinks menus to the eclectic décor full of quotes and repurposed finds from Grandma’s attic. If weather permits, the spacious side yard Hatter’s bar area with corner stage, strung lights, large old trees, and the red door to the realm of the Queen of Hearts awaits. Lewis Carroll would surely be amused. The food veers toward Southern/Gulf Coast, with an effort to serve as many local seasonal products as possible. Featured proteins include shrimp, bi-valves, a few types of fish, chicken, pork chops, several beef options, and yes, rabbit. Salads and Benedicts at brunch are divine. The cocktail menu has plenty of classics & throwbacks, plus a few original twists like the Manmosa(Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, Revolver Blood & Honey Ale, &OJ, a potion this fine lady quite enjoys). I have yet to make it over there for the Mon-Thu happy hour(4p-7p, patio only), but now that the weather is cooling off, I can certainly see myself taking advantage of the $ 1 off pints and wine by the glass or $ 5 Ritas and $ 6 pizza. After watching this week’s biting South Park episode on sour-puss hobbyist restaurant reviewers, I can’t help but laugh at some of the negative reviews here. Seriously, 2 stars because you didn’t like the perfectly reasonable«How can I help you» verbiage used by the hostess to acknowledge you? Visit on the third day of business and find fault with a few things? Jeez, tough crowd!

The Scarlet Rabbit is unique, fantastic, and fun. The menu has a great variety of choices including a rabbit dish! I had the fish tacos and they were the best I’ve had anywhere. Just great flavor and beautifully prepared. Service was super and it is a great building with a cool outdoor area. It’ll be great to eat out there when the weather cools down. They serve brunch and I’m gonna go!

I’ve been here for lunch and brunch. All things considered, I would probably choose another restaurant based on food quality alone. Everything has the potential to be delicious, but it just doesn’t quite hit the mark. I’ve had the pappardelle lunch entrée, the chicken and waffles brunch entrée and the bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer. Perhaps a bit more seasoning is required? They just seemed a little flat to my taste — especially the chicken and waffles, which I was told was among the most popular brunch entrees. However, the atmosphere earns high marks. Such a cute restaurant concept, and the décor really delivers. I also loved eating outside on the picnic tables for a picturesque Sunday brunch. They had the misters going, and there’s plenty of room for little ones to walk around and not get bored. Also, brunch features $ 2 mimosas and complimentary coffee, tea and soft drinks. The service is great, as well. I just wish the food was a BIT more memorable.

A welcome addition to Round Rock. I can highly recommend the oyster poboy, cuban sandwich, and the burger are all delicious. I need to try this place at dinner to get the real feel.

I must admit I’m only mildly familiar with the Alice in Wonderland story, but The Scarlet Rabbit sounds like a refreshing change in terms of style, and my girlfriend and I couldn’t resist trying them out. We came here on a Tuesday night and downtown Round Rock is the polar opposite of downtown Austin. It’s full of small businesses, fairly quiet, and SOMUCHFREEPARKING. The parking spots littered the street sides. I haven’t been downtown during the weekend nights, but I’m sure the scene will be pretty similar. Walking into the restaurant, you see decorations on the wall from the Alice in Wonderland story. Overall, the restaurant is designed old-fashioned style. We were pretty hooked. We ordered the Fried Oyster Nachos as our appetizer. I enjoy raw oysters, but haven’t had them fried before. These were definitely the star of the night! The oysters were excellently fried and weren’t tough at all. When you bite into it, you get the full taste of the oysters and the juices come gushing out onto your fingers. My girlfriend had fried oysters several times before and confidently claimed that these were the best fried oysters she’s had. For entrees, I ordered the Braised Short Ribs and she got the Smoke Rabbit and Andouille Gumbo. Despite the online menu saying that the Short Ribs came with mushrooms, mine came with green beans, so it appears that they cycle through their veggies somewhat occasionally. The sauce was pretty good, and while the short ribs were tender, they weren’t the best I’ve had. They were on the lean side, and I definitely preferred them to have a higher fat content. My girlfriend enjoyed her gumbo as well as the rabbit meat, although the dish was pretty spicy. The okra came whole and we both agreed that it would’ve been better if it was cut up. The andouille sausage was pretty lean and dry. Overall, our entrees were good but could’ve been a lot better. Note that the availability of their desserts seems to be inconsistent, so if you’re craving for a specific dish, it may be safe to call ahead of time. For dessert, we ordered their Crème Brulee. Despite it looking like a small portion in pictures, the Crème Brulee can be shared between two people. Even though it was in a teacup, it’s pretty deep. The hardness of the sugar was perfect and the custard was delicious. We were both big fans. Our waitress was really nice and super cheerful. Pretty excited to come back and try their other entrees! And of course, their fried oysters!

I see some mixed experiences on here but I thought this place was fabulous! I was drawn to it by the unique ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme, and it really is designed so fun and cute with vivid colors and cute little ‘Wonderland’ phrases and décor like a little red door, knick knacks, a stage and more! The outdoor patio is really so lovely and magical to sit out on, with little lights in the trees. But…the food and the drinks… were delicious! I had NOWLEMONTHAT’S DIFFERENT(Tito’s Vodka, lavender syrup, lemon juice, sugar)…sooo good! And my boyfriend had NOTPINK, NOTGREEN, NOTAQUAMARINE(whipped cream vodka, Grand Marnier, key lime syrup, vanilla cream) which was equally as good. We shared the FRIEDOYSTERNACHOS… AMAZING! and the MACARONI&CHEESE was VERY good… they were very filling! My boyfriend ordered the Surf ‘n’ Turf special which was a combination of steak, frog legs, mahi fish, asparagus and rice. He said it was good… being a vegetarian, I only tried the a bite of the fish! :) I would definitely go back… it’s a very unique and quality place! Also, the entire staff(hostess & server Delaney) was great! ps. 1 suggestion: Please make more vegetarian dishes!
