Great prices with variety on the menu. But the cheeseburger I had was slightly dry and pretty tasteless aside from the overpowering red onions. Also had to wait over 10 minutes for my order.

On a lazy Saturday afternoon, hubs was craving a hamburger but not with a chain restaurant. So he Unilocal around for a place that we have never tried before. He finds Vernon Street Grill. So off we go. The place is in downtown Roseville. The street parking is free(yes) and the spaces are not parallel(double yes). We walk in, the place had several tables of customers. Good sign. The menu is on the wall. We placed our order at the counter. Check out the prices on their website. Pretty affordable: 1⁄3 pound hamburger ~$ 4.50, small cheesesteak ~$ 5.20. The sweet gal manning the till was very upbeat. Great smile. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, cheesesteak, onion rings, bottled water, and bottled Snapple. Silverware, napkins, and condiments are self serve and located near the soda machine. We picked a table in the middle with a view of the TVs. The a/c seemed weak, we were a bit warm. They also have a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk out in front. The food came out pretty quick. It all came out at once. Hubs and I shared the food. The bacon cheese burger was tasty! 1⁄3 pound of nice quality ground beef. The cheesesteak was ok. It was a bit bland. No biggie, I salted and black peppered it up. Plus they serve it with no peppers, only American white cheese and grilled onions. The onion rings were good. They were cooked to a nice golden crisp. Overall great family friendly place that serves up affordable and tasty food. The food is basic American diner type fare. If you’re looking for frufru lah-de-da food… don’t come here. If you’re in the area and need to nosh, you should give this place a go.

Tried this place a couple times. It wasn’t bad, but nothing impressive either. I would not travel to eat here but would eat here if I was already downtown for some reason if that makes sense.

This is my 2nd time at this location so I figured I would do her review. My friend Christy invited me to this location. Each time I ordered the same thing and so did she. We are creatures of habit :-) she order the buffalo chicken salad with ranch dressing and I order the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries. Both are orders came out fairly quickly. The food came out at the right temperature which was nice :-) the food was OK tasting I would give it a five out of 10. I am kind of picky with food I wish their sandwich came with more on it. It was just me it’s a little bit of cheese and peppers or onions. A Philly cheesesteak sandwich should have lots of me, cheese, Bell peppers and onions. Was OK taste but the price is kind a high for the low-quality. The customer service was amazing so that is why I gave it a four star.

This place is my favorite for casual GREAT food at an amazing price. The bacon burger and the garlic fries are so awesome. My family of 5 can eat there for less than $ 40TOTAL. That’s less than Wendy’s. I don’t get why it’s not constantly packed. It’s a great place.

The Vernon Street Grill is a great quick dining option in old town Roseville. It’s walk-up counter service, serve yourself drinks and great prices on everything from Philly cheese steaks to grilled dogs, burgers, sandwiches and wings. Over the years I’ve tried several items and they have all been great. A friend of mine who moved here from the East Coast told me that they had the best Philly cheese steaks he had tried on the west coast. I can say that they are very tasty with a good ratio of meat to roll with a generous amount of gooey melted cheese. The hot wings are also terrific. Very crispy exteriors(not breaded) and with nice moist interiors. The«Hot» is closer to mild. They come with the obligatory ranch dressing, carrots and celery on the side. I just wish they offered Garlic Parmesan wings! Closed on Sundays so plan according!

I have been going to Vernon St. Grill for years now. They have the best hot wings in town, and their Boston Steak sandwich is off the charts. I recommend everyone check this place out!

very reasonable prices, good quality food, quick service. I know it’s a deli, but it would be nice having someone come around and refill your coffee cup… Overall, I like it. I actually ate there three times this past week: the breakfast menu is small, but good. The hot meatball sub is very good, I’m gonna try the burgers next…

One of Roseville’s «must-try». Incredible food and great price, 5 star value! Cheesesteak is a must, garlic fries, and burgers. They even make a killer hot dog!

Went down to the city clerk early in the morning. Too early apparently because it wasn’t open yet, so went searching for breakfast. Everything was closed at 8:15am in downtown Roseville. Luckily this place opens 8:30 and they let us in early. Got 2 breakfast plates and everything was delicious! Bacon and hash Browns were nice and crispy and the prices for breakfast were very reasonable. $ 14 for 2 people, with 1 drink. Better than dennys !

This place sucks! They will only let you eat and then they tell you to get out. They won’t let you stay, drink coffee, and work. They told us to eat and get out. Very rude customer service, obviously. Very disappointed.

They have updated the décor and all the signage. But they didn’t fix the food. This is the equivalent of getting food at a bowling alley snack bar. It’s painfully average and just tolerable. The only reason they stay in business is because they’re cheaper than the places that are around them and their service is not as bad as Nela’s.

Good friend of mine, JoAnn dines here weekly… says it is best customer service and fresh made food to order. She is RIGHT… this place is the best thing to downtown Roseville. Garlic Fries — best ever. Wings — great. Staff — Like no other

When I am feeling like a, «close to work» lunch I come here. They are always friendly and the food is consistent. I usually get the Italian Steak Sub(with both peppers), Pizza Steak Sub, or the New York Grinder. I am always returning for more.

Vernon Street Grill is the best! I’m annoyed at all the bad reviews I see people giving. If you are coming to VSG wanting enormous portions of some gourmet hot wings brought out to you on a silver platter by a team of servers, go eat somewhere else. Vernon Street is an extremely casual eatery — you place your order at the counter, fill up your own drink, grab your own silverware, napkins and condiments, take a seat and wait for your food to be brought to you. You can watch a game on one of TVs while you wait. I like Vernon because they’re fast and friendly, affordable and serve reasonable portions. I for one don’t feel slighted when receiving non-gluttenous portions. Everything tastes fresh, and probably not unlike a good hamburger or steak sandwich you could probably make at home. Nothing drips with grease or is covered in sauce — just tasty, old fashioned grill food. Their wings are excellent and you can choose your spice level. I love their bacon avocado burger, Italian steak sandwich(it’s cut up strips of beef — not thick like tri tip but ticker and meatier than deli roast beef mixed with spicy sauteed italian peppers and garlic in a roll) and hot veggie sub. My two year old asks to go to «Vernon Street Gill» all the time! His Grandma took him there at his request and the staff there was able to tell my mom, who doesn’t dine their often, how my son liked his veggie burger. :) The customer service there is excellent. I’m pretty passionate about patronizing local businesses, especially since Roseville has been completely overrun by crappy chain restaurants. I love supporting Vernon Street Grill — it’s really a great neighborhood place. I’d highly recommend!

It’s the first night of Downtown Roseville Tuesday Nights, and Vernon Street is closed off for a family fun night! There are cars on display, food vendors, jump houses for the kids, radio station vans, vendors selling jewelry, clothing, henna tattoos, farmer’s market, a variety of businesses selling and marketing, etc… We love this place! Sure, there are a number of other restaurants but we like that they are fast, fresh, and delicious! The place is very well kept, they stay on top of their condiment bar and tables needing to be bussed. On this occasion, we ordered the teriyaki chicken plate, Philly cheesesteak sandwich combo which includes fries and a drink, and an order of their hot wings. Love that they put the teriyaki sauce on the side because yesterday I had a teriyaki chicken bento box elsewhere and they drowned it with the sauce, Ugh! The breast of chicken was perfectly seasoned and grilled with all visible fat trimmed off. Nice! The cheesesteak was average, the fries were perfect, never felt an ounce of guilt that I’m eating something fried. The wings here are pretty darn good also. We had all this food and it was all for a little over $ 20! It was so much food in fact that I ended up boxing it up for later. If you’re ever in the area, check them out. The owner is very friendly and so are the staff!
